I have a question. Is there any way that the conservatives can stay in government if them + UKIP + LD don't get enough votes for a majority? Because looks at polls and seat predictions it doesn't seem like they'll have enough.

Add in the DUP and/or convince the SNP to abstain at the Queen's Speech.

Yes, the DUP may also support the Tories and they get a few seats in northern Ireland.

I voted Green in both the national and local elections, though my seat is safely Labour.

There's nothing stopping them just chilling in Downing Street until parliament reconvenes and boots them out I think. And that's not for a few weeks.

Off to vote! The SNP actually have a good chance of taking East Dunbartonshire so fingers crossed.

Then I get to be one of those annoying people handing out leaflets outside the polling station.

Just voted Lib Dems (Bournemouth West, safe Tory seat). Annoyingly the local MP I'm really impressed with is Vikki Slade of Lib Dems but she's mid-Dorset. Close but no cigar.

I was the only one in the polling station this morning at 8am. Brilliantly, there are massive roadworks going on right outside the hotel with the polling station and very few signs pointing out that the polling station is still open and/or where it actually is. Oh well.

Perfectly timed Tory roadworks. Masterminds!

Not surprised a Conservative voter doesn't like Bloodborne. Right from the outset you're set to helping a town community, and early on you rescue an elderly person by finding her shelter instead of means testing her winter fuel allowance and throwing her under the nearest bus.
Aha. And that little girl from the broken home (well...) Who is obviously going to be supported by the state, the leech. Maybe she should sell her broach? Ideally the Big Society should support her but I'm not sure Yarnham is too into the Big Society...

Gonna vote when the wife gets home. We're in Chichester though, where the damned Tories have a 28% majority, so my vote amounts to fuck all.

Going Lib Dem - he was closest on 16k votes short last time round. :(

They are recorded...

They certainly do get recorded and I am off to spoil my own later. I live in one of the safest seats there is so it doesn't really matter either way, but I'd rather have my apathy for FPTP recorded as a spoilt ballot paper than have it assumed I'm apathetic about politics.

I'd read otherwise, guess I've given into a false fact. Well in the case do spoil your vote :)

I have been and voted. I put a big X in the Labour box.

Reasons being mainly around child tax benefits and childcare. I'm about to become a dad and although i earn a decent salary, without that help my wife and I would really struggle. A Child deserves the best start in life. They don't asked to be brought into this world so we should make life as easy as possible and stress free for the parents.

Another reason why I put that X in Ian Lucas's box (local mp for Wrexham) is that I think Camron and Osborne are a couple of cunts and I want to see them out of power

My polling station was reasonably busy, already 60 people had voted in my area station by 8.00 am

No Labour presence at all, 4 SNP activists in what should be the heartlands of Labour support.

They even read out how many were spoiled when they announce who won I think, but usually people are too busy cheering by then.

Well this time if it's a hung parliament with no clear coalition those numbers will be important, or at least more important than usual.

I remember when Old Yharnam was inhabited by upstanding men like Dennis Skinner and Tony Benn.

Now all we have are these new sods that don't know their blood echoes from their blood vials.

This tahn's finished!

Well went to vote, the one hall at the address was closed, bunch of us wandering around confused, no signs up anywhere or info available.

Gave up and went home, may try again later.

I registered to vote online and got things sent through the door a couple of weeks back to fill in and I misplaced them so can I still vote because I registered or not because I didn't fill in the forms that came in through the post?

SNP would face a massive backlash in Scotland if they did anything to get the Tories back into power.

Did anyone see the bit at the end of Newsnight where they asked Dimbleby and Paxman about how they keep going on election night? Pretty entertaining.

Voting after work. Thankfully my polling station is just outside a bus stop on the route home, so it's really easy for me. Still don't know how I'll vote though, probably decide in the booth.

Voted!

Cross next to Labour. I think my local MP has done a good job, some good campaigning on issues in his first term and has always seemed nice in person and responding to emails. I've got some reservations about the party as a whole but I chose the person I want to see take a seat in parliament and think will use it well.

When I went to vote this morning I was expecting a bit of a queue with the London pre-work commute crowd.

Not a soul (other than the election officers).

Not a good sign for a large turnout, though my constituency is very safely Labour so voting is broadly pointless except for the national vote share (and it's a shame, since on an individual level my MP is totally inept, but she's not going anywhere).

Well, I voted. But now I feel like I prematurely shot my wad (so to speak) since now I don't get the excitement of anticipating my vote all day :-/

Says on my wife's polling card she doesn't need it with her to be able to vote. Can I just send her a pic of it? She wants to go after work, and presumably having your voter registration number and ID is enough.

No ID or voter number needed. You just tell them your name and address and they give you your ballot paper!

Nope!

I've only ever turned up, confirmed my address and voted!

It seems really open to fraud.....

Anyone noticed a lot of people suddenly getting very, very intersted in things on Facebook? Like, you know, that's their prerogative, but where have you been for the rest of the year. Or the last 5 years? These arguments aren't won in a day!

This always bothered me.

It's so convenient though, and I don't think voter fraud is a big problem really. Or at least, not the kind where people actually go down to the polling station and give a fake name. Postal votes might be abused more - I remember some stories a few years ago about houses receiving postal votes for people who didn't live there any more, I'm sure some of those were sent in by unscrupulous characters.

If you phone your local Valuation Joint Board they can tell you if you are registered or not.

Anyone could turn up with a valid name and address then vote in someone else's place.

We bought our first home in September and seemingly the old occupants polling card came through the post a few weeks ago. We sent it back, but I found that odd.

Try this, it may help if you're torn between two parties: https://voteforpolicies.org.uk

I'm voting Green in an area that is safely Labour.

I found this site very helpful the other day, so I'd recommend having a look. It only took 15 minutes or so.
