No. All the channels blow their load on the first one.

Liberal Democrat demise:

I saw that before. If I ever run in politics I want some fine artist to render me equally beautifully

Well that result was bad for the tories. Ukip ate massively into the tory vote and labour increased theirs by five percent. The exit poll looks a bit shaky.

BBC never fails to fail to mention the Greens, nice to see some things don't change :(

Nah, pretty much as expected.

I feel no sympathy for the LibDems if that exit poll is correct.
They propped up a Conservative government, raised tuition fees, sold off Royal Mail, scrapped 5000 Nurses, scrapped the 50p tax - all going against their manifesto. They have no backbone, no morals, why would anyone want to take a risk with a party that has openly said they would swing either way? They need to learn to take a stance.

Yeap. Damn. Bath is going to turn blue... I can feel it.

It's Sunderland, they've nearly always had a strong BNP presence (I think the HQ was based there for a long time?). I'm not really surprised that UKIP is getting a strong showing there, as they're pretty much the more fashionable BNP now. I'm not really going to take this as a sign of things to come.
Exactly.
All this 7% swing stuff they were taking about, it was only briefly mentioned that BNP weren't running this time

No matter which way this election goes, I'll be happy to see Clegg resign and go down in history as destroying the Lib Dems during a time of massive momentum.

I don't know if there's maybe a legitimate defence for this cos I haven't seen discussion of it outside of gaf, but when I saw this a few months ago it stuck out to me as an unquestionable reason to hate the Tories regardless of your feelings on headline issues like economic policies

That's precisely why I'm not voting tories. That and Teresa May has "nutjob" policies.

Shame on 44% of people not voting. I just don't get why you wouldn't bother.

I asked a friend who he voted for and he told me there was a problem registering to vote so I then asked who he would have voted for and you know what he said to me? I would have put a x on a random name.

Ayyy lmao generation don't vote and then moan when left out in the cold.

I wouldn't surpirse me if the 10 seat for prediction for the Lib Dems isn't far off. What the bloke in the beeb was just saying about how getting in bed with the Tories may have cost them most of their left wing voters is what I've been thinking all along.

The Greens didn't actually stand in Houghton and Southerland South in 2010, so that explains where a fair few LibDem votes went.

Someone dancing in the streets about Tory win. I don't think he knows what an exit poll is, or much of how a majority gov works.

edit:lol his wife pulled him in,

Pretty much. The BBC prediction was something like Tory 20% UKIP 18%, and the actual result was UKIP 20% Tory 18%. Well within the margin of error.
Didn't they also say that the BNP didn't stand this time? So that's clearly where most of the UKIP votes came from.

A minority party can't have everything they want.

They had a big input on the tax cuts for the lowest paid which affected the most people out of all their policies and the 50p rate was dropped to a rate that was 5p more than all the time Labour was in power bar a few days.

The wankers...

You might want to prepare for further cuts regardless of who gets in government
as well.

Are the majority here quite pro labour?

Holy fuck. If that Balls rumour is true then I will be fucking giddy. Cant stand that cunt (and it's a big reason I didnt vote Labour).

As has been said both here and on the BBC, the BNP did surprisingly well in Sunderland last time, and they didn't run this time. UKIP's (excellent) result here didn't come from eating into the Tories, but rather the BNP's old voters. If this is indicative, it might explain the exit poll - that UKIP's voteshare isn't eating into the Tories as much as we all thought?

The hat banter continues.

Can we have less Michael Gove please. :( I'm already upset.

Going to be interesting to see if Bob Russell can keep his seat in Colchester. Tories have been spending a lot, local hospital scandal has assuredly hurt him. He's right on the Edge of that 10 seat prediction.

You really shouldn't trust the Tories with the economy. I'd say they don't have a clue what they're doing, but that's a gigantic lie, because they know exactly what they're doing. They're making shit up and claiming austerity is the way to go because they know that the common person doesn't know fucking anything about economics and will vote because it makes sense. They said they'd cut the deficit. They've barely made a scratch after five years of decimating the civil service. My mom will be out of a job next year if they get back in and she's worked the civil service all of her life, and she's supporting me and my sister on her own because all these "Jobs" the Tories keep talking about people having are zero hours contracts that barely cover the cost of food.

They can go fuck themselves.

I'm in total agreement with you, ShemhazaiX. The Tories are vile and i'm hoping that exit poll is way off, or I may also be heading up to Scotland (with a few other Gaffers by the look of it).

I hate it when people answer a question on TV with "Look..." or "Listen..." Fuck off you fucking dog rapist. Alistair Campbell has out stayed his welcome. The best thing he ever did was inspire The Thick of It.

i don't know why i had so much hope
despair is setting in

i really would quite like to stop destroying the lives of disabled and mentally ill people.

much like running a shop you gotta suck it up and cope with a bit of shrinkage and i don't give a fuck about my taxes going to some "scrounger" if a load of disabled people are allowed to stop living in fear.

sorry

it's too early for this but the exit polls feels like such a bucket of cold water to my mood.
I really thought that we could turn off the monstrous road we seem to have gone down.
