Such a monumental night.

- Where do the Liberal Democrats go from here? Losing Vince Cable, of all people, is a huge blow.

- If the SNP surge is now a permanent part of British politics, how does Labour plan plan on defeating the tories and, more importantly, how do the SNP deal with inadvertently enabling a tory-led government?

- Providing the conservatives gain enough seats, is the EU referendum now going to be a thing? Out of all the things coming, this one seems like something that is going to create an een bigger divide between Scotland and Westminster.

Incredible.

If this is true (and miliband does step down) Cooper would be the only brownite conceivably in the shadow cabinet, I could finally vote for labour again assuming she isn't made leader.

Burnham and Khan were also (very loosely) Brownites, so you're not quite safe even with Balls gone. Mind, Khan was barely a Brownite, too junior to be properly in that, and Burnham kept his distance safely from the main mess.

Lib Dems lose Yardley and the only real possible challenger to Farron left.

What a depressing night, Labour had no chance. I wish some of these Conservative voters actually saw with their own eyes what's been done to the country in the last 5 years.

Blaming the Scottish results on nationalism.

I mean, nationalism is the expression and not the root, but he did just lose a lot of his MPs to nationalists. What he said is not inaccurate.

True.

Hopefully Jon Cruddas stands for the leadership this time (assuming no Johnson)

I must say, from a political campaign and strategy perspective, the Conservatives have played a masterful game. As much as I dislike their overall ethos and so many of their policies and stances, I have to commend the success of how they've played this all out. Lib Dems demolished, Labour quelled, SNP whitewashing Scotland, media in their pockets, fear mongering galore etc. Only thing I think could cause them (and the country as a whole) bigger issues later down the line is the rise of UKIP.

Big money wins again I guess?

Oh man, I was having breakfast in the Finnair lounge in Helsinki. This British chap happily sits opposite me, grabs coffee, opens iPad, let's out a loud 'fuuuuuuuuuuck' and storms out of the lounge.

Extremely good outcome for the economy though. Looks like we are set to invest and employ in UK for another five years and will hire in the next few weeks once again. The main threat now is handling of the EU referendum. Britain needs to stay the hell away from Euro and federalists, yet not appear to isolate itself from EU. It's going to be a very tricky balance.
