Heh, I just read a good post on a boxing forum I frequent regarding that:

"Pacquiao is not an inside fighter so that should:

1) Save him from forearms

2) Stop Mayweather easing up

In the event Floyd has Manny all sussed it won't matter but it's more likely he will be surprised at how quickly Pacquiao closes the gap. Manny's problem lies in getting Mayweather consistently flustered so that he keeps landing his left. A few cracks won't cut it."

Won't be surprised if we see Floyd huffing and puffing a bit more in this fight..

No, that never happens. People are saying it this fight because it's true, but Mayweather is never an underdog, last time I think was against Chico. Yeah, people say "X fighter will probably give him trouble", and it ends up happening sometimes, but you act like people are predicting Mayweather to lose every time he fights, it simply isn't true.
 
anyone know if there is a way to purchase the PPV for this over an HD streaming device like xbox or PC? i have basic cable but it's not HD and i'm not going to pay $100 to watch it in crap resolution.
 
I see Pacquiao getting a few good rounds and possibly even rocking him for a second before Mayweather starts dismantling him with some nice rolls and counter shots to finish off the final 5-6 rounds. Hoping Mayweather ends up breaking Marciano's record before retiring. Just has to get through Khan after and maybe one rematch with Pacquiao depending how the fight goes.
 
I've never seen people so hyped over a match with two fighters so far out of their prime. Pacquiao has knocked out anyone forever.

Floyd Mayweather by murder. TKO 10 or 11. Floyd isn't a lightweight that's come up to fight at 147 for the first time. He's not coming off of a loss. He's bigger, stronger, more durable, more skilled and the speed is negligible. I cannot wait for this six year headache to be over. All the verbal abuse floyd has taken over the years, saying that he has run from this fight. Floyd can't hit the Brian kennys and Jim lampleys of the world, but he can hit Manny, who is the embodiment of the bullshit. Manny wants to talk about the bible, cool because floyd is coming to exercise some demons. No need for us floyd fans to brag, there will just be finality in saying we told you so.

It is true that they never really could have intersected at their peaks. By the Corrales fight, they were both at the top of their game but separated by 17 pounds on the scale.

Floyd had a long prime. I would say from 2001-2013.

Shane's prime was laughably short because of stupid choices on his part. I think it was 1999-2002. He really squandered a good portion of his youth with that move up to 154 and the terrible training decisions he made. He wanted that Oscar money though.
 
I predict a draw. Then a couple years later, a rematch. Therefore earning themselves alot more money......Or mayweather loses and asks for another fight and vice versa.

This fight feels rigged already.

Anyone know if this fight can be streamed on a smart tv or console? I am a cord cutter who is thinking about ordeing this fight. The consoles I have is a PS3 and PS4 and my TV is a Sony Bravia W700b series.

I'm still at odds as to where was the boycotting of the Cotto fight, and the last four? The judge pushed back the day he had to report for jail so he could still fight Cotto. Didn't really here this much from the media back then about.

That's because they're both still very much at the top of their game. Nothing has really happened since their "prime" that shows this fight has lost any of its luster. Pacquiao would've always gotten robbed against Bradley, he would've always gotten timed after 4 freakin' fights against Marquez, and he would've always had trouble KOing people as he moved up in weight. Did Roy Jones keep KOing people as he moved up in weight? Did anyone? Did Mosley? It happens.

Mayweather also would have always had trouble with the fighters he had a little trouble with (Maidana gets no credit for some reason).

It's also the reason it drives me nuts people talking about this should have happened 5 years ago. Maybe, but it isn't going to be two old guys in the ring on Saturday night. And for fucks sake, if Mayweather manages to beat Pacquiao, he was always going to beat him.

The Cotto fight wasn't big enough for journalists to voice their outrage and get their time to shine. While their points are valid, it's obvious that everyone wants a piece of the media attention surrounding this fight, and will make any excuse to get involved somehow.
 
Just ordered this on Sky. Going to have all the family around. Think we'll order a crap load of takeaway and just pig out on the fight. Anyone know what the undercard fights are? Sky says the event starts at 12am, given the actual fight is expected to start at around 4am, that's a lot of time in-between.
