Okay, a while back ago I posted here, looking for advice on a permanent briefcase for dressier occasions. 90% of the time at work, I'm business casual and work in an office. But about once a month, I'm either presenting in front of the C-suite of my company, or in front of clients throughout the country. Just this week, for example, I have a ~20 minute presentation in front of some VPs - one day I'll be wearing a suit jacket and slacks, and the other day a full suit.
My Filson messenger/tote bag works great most the time. LOVE all the space, it can take a beating and keep on ticking. It protects all my gear. It matches most my stuff. It's nice and rugged. It fits at the office and on a plane and to a friend's house and running around town for when I'm traveling to New York or Chicago. ... But it looks
really out of place during that 10% of the time I'm dressed fancier.
Current bag:
So, after several weeks of hunting, I think I have my choices down to four choices:
Filson Field Satchel
Frank Clegg American Briefcase
Ghurka Examiner No 5
... ... or, do I say "F IT" and save up for the Swaine Adeney Brigg?
The SAB costs WAY more. Significantly more. I wouldn't be able to splurge on it for another year, at least. Currently have other things I'm saving for, and this would put me significantly behind. But man, everything I read says it's absolutely amazing, and worth the price. Considering I plan to have it for as long as I'm working, the price is do-able someday. Just not now.
Anyway, just looking for general thoughts? Which do you guys like best?
