Got super frustrated shopping for button-ups tonight. Seems because I'm so small and unwilling/unable to pay $100+ for a shirt, that my destiny is to wear nothing but plaid forever. :(
I don't know exactly how cheap you want them, but these are amazing for slim guys like ourselves. They have some kind of sale going on right now but better ones happen. Also Perry Ellis (found at Macy's) has some funky prints if that is what you're looking for. Timing is everything. Labor Day is past now but it is a big day for clothing sales.

I dropped both shirt jackets off at the tailor today. The modification are not going to be cheap, but he seemed sure he could get the fit right. Guy is really busy, they wont be done till the end of the month.

The last Express slim shirt I tried had an inexplicably awful fit, but that was a couple years ago, so maybe I'll try on one of those MX shirts and see if it's any better. I'd prefer something more casual, and there were a few Perry Ellis at Macy's tonight that looked good, but S was the smallest they stock and it was huge on me.

IWhere have you been looking?

Macy's, Nordstrom, Club Monaco, J Crew, Banana Republic, Asos, UO, some local places that stock trendy/boutique brands, etc. Almost no one has XS in store, the prints and patterns are ugly or boring, the fits are poor, and/or the prices are out of my affordability range.

i need some winter clothes. what online store is good for sweaters and other warm things?

It will take some work on your end but sierra trading post is an option.

Damn, some of those are all about slimmer cuts too. I would look at some Ben Sherman stuff if you haven't already. Both of my shirts from them are very slim. You might need to have some stuff tailored after purchasing.

Oh, you need like for real XS? Hit up dat Asian market. And get a proper sizing done by a tailor so you know your actual measurements in inches and centimeters. That information will cut through the disappointing discovery process and wasted time since you don't fit the mainstream.

I just don't like pants that are more business casual, because they feel so heavy and they're not form fitting.

as far as jeans I don't like them either. I need a middle ground that's light and comfortable. So I guess as you guys have said chinos should do fine? A khaki bootcut I'd like.

Ohhh hm, I'd forgotten all about Yesstyle. Was thinking about trying a Uniqlo shirt soon, so maybe I'll order something from Yes at the same time.

I do have one Ben Sherman right now that fits pretty well, although three of the buttons fell off the same week I got it, and I haven't gotten them sewn back on yet... :\

Need a good site for jackets.

need a new fall jacket.
$ range?

chinos = casual pants; can be lightweight or heavy.

but don't get bootcut chinos, it will look odd.

Oooh. Found the topmans chinos that Craig wore in skyfall. Would look good with navy blue j crew fitted shirt.

Yeah the Topman stuff is decent, though I think it's overpriced for what it is. The slim chinos are definitely slim so if you have a Nordstrom's, they do carry some Topman stuff so try on a pair and see of you like them.

Thanks giga, going to look for those Orients, damn nice.

Went on a spree today, said fuck it and bought some nice items...

Nudie Jeans button up shirt, really nice the fit.

Marshall Artist Fall blazer. Thick and perfect fit for our cold weathers.

If you bought that blazer online, a link would be greatly appreciated. Google couldn't seem to help me.

Any of y'all know of a place to get some blue oxfords?

Currently eyeing this right now since it's $60 from Aldo:

I've been looking for this exact pair in stores as I don't wanna pay shipping but they either don't have it or there's no size. So I'm looking to see if there's other places that offer something similar. If not, I'll be putting the order in tonight.

Question for tomorrow. Planning to wear grey chinos with a dark blue button up. Do I go black shoes and belt or brown? The brown I have is sort of a caramel brown.

My brother bought these from ASOS, they look pretty close

I'm looking for something similar to this but cheaper, anyone got any ideas? fyi, I'm in Australia. Thanks

Damn no size for me. :(

So I've been sitting here educating myself of the differences between Oxfords, Derbys and Brogues. I honestly didn't know that there are a bunch of differences between the three.

So I looked at my shoe collection and all I have are Oxfords lol. What's more awesome is that I discovered a pair of navy blue Oxfords sitting in my closet all unused and stuff so it looks like I don't need a new pair now haha.

But after educating myself about the differences, this caught my eye:

And at $39 bucks on ASOS, how am I supposed to say no?

BR you can get essentially (since the calculations aren't done in the best way) 65% off today if you sign up for e-mails and use the 40% code going on now.

I never had such a hard time picking what to spend money on...BR really doesn't appeal to me at all. However, I did get two fall color sweaters for ~$40 and then two tees.

Would you guys say a Salmon sweater is wearable in the fall? Maybe with olive colored jeans? Otherwise, I probably should just sell it. There's no sweater wearing in Spring-Summer in Ohio.

How is the sizing from ASOS? They say M is 38-40in for chest size but I have no idea what that means since I've never actually measured myself. Is it the same thing as M from everywhere else?

doesn't look innately summery, and I think you understand how to pull it away from those connotations (ie, pairing with olive green etc). I wouldn't sweat it.

Here's what I was planning on wearing together. Doesn't seem very fall like. Maybe some other kind of shirt under the sweater? Or would chinos work better? Also included a pic to show the real jeans color although it seems to have come out with a little pink hue. Sorry for the crap cell pics.
