Meta Quest 3 | OT + Review Thread |

Keeping watching until he talks about the visuals. This looks insane. No PC needed.

oh man, can't wait to play this

The same devs made The Room VR, which was perfectly built (still should play it today if anyone hasn't -- use Quest Games Optimizer to bump up the res on Q3 and it'll look beautiful).

brilliant vr devs

The guys doing VRChat content are heroes. I played VR versions of games I keep dreaming about, like Ridge Racer 1, Daytona USA, Jet Set Radio, Phantasy Star Online, etc. There is not a Wave Race game yet but there are at least two solid Jetski games which can actually make me a bit nauseous, which is rare because nothing has given me motion sickness for years.

So Deadpool is rumored to be the next be Quest game coming out. Supposedly, we'll know more about it on June 6th via Reddit and it will launch this year.

If it's similar quality to Batman, that will be amazing. Still shocks me how good that game looks and plays.

This is be legit. The legendary teambeef is handling it. They make better mods than full fledged AAA VR ports.

What are Meta's studios doing anyway? I expect one big game a year but there hasn't been an announcement for this year. I really wish they didn't waste Ready at Dawn.

Wait until next week

World War Z was just announced
I'm cautiously optimistic but it's a bit hard to get excited for another Zombie game. VR already has so many of those games simply because devs assume that slow ass Zombies are all the average player can handle. Though I guess, WWZ zombies aren't like that.

I mean a strong Deadpool possibility and WWZ in the span of 2 days is pretty crazy if you ask me. We haven't even got to the June 6th showcase yet.

So Demeo x DnD and Thief VR, not bad summer in terms of announcements so far. Mildly disappointed that Lumines Arise is PSVR2 and Steam only, I would have preferred a stand-alone version.

Tetris Effect is available standalone and might be better anyway.
Sour Grapes I know.
I already have Tetris Effect but I would have loved to have Lumines as well. I guess I can always play it from Steam but I just really prefer stand alone if possible. It's weird cause Tetris, Humanity, and Rez are all on the Quest but Lumines isn't going to be.

Probably going to be cross-buy since it's from the Metro VR devs.
I missed this until now, awesome announcement -- they made 7th Guest VR which was very polished and ran great on Q3.

looks amazing

I'm torn between Assassin's Creed Nexus and Vampire: the Masquerade - Justice now they're on a decent sale.

The former seems to be way more popular but the latter might be more my thing for stealth action, it seems Dishonored-ish (but maybe it's too linear/scripted so not really giving you freedom in how to tackle the missions) and maybe has some less fair detractors making it less popular because it's not a deep story driven with choices RPG like the most famous Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines was when Assassin's Creed is way more in line with what the main non VR series is and so what people expect (even if not so open world and more linear than usually in the later games).

Anyone have any thoughts? I can only really afford one of these before the next paycheck which the sale might not be active still on, no clue how long it lasts.

Oh Behemoth is on a similarly good sale... Now triple torn.

Edit: ah well, if nobody chimes in I guess I'm getting Nexus as it's technically on the biggest discount, over 50% off....

I didn't like the Vampire game after a few hours. At first I did. Nexus has alot more gameplay, but is really good if you play it as a pure stealth game. Combat is lacking is why I say this.

Behemoth is excellent. Shorter but a pretty wild ride. Combat and mechanics are a bit janky but there's nothing like it. One of the boss fights is one the best experiences I've had in VR.

I'd vote nexus IF you are going to play it stealth. If you're not, Behemoth.

AC Nexus was the most enjoyable one out of those 3 to me. I've said before that Batman was amazing in VR cause it felt like a translation of the Arkham games into VR, that it really made you feel like Batman. Well, AC Nexus is probably the next closest thing that evokes that feeling. If it wasn't for the Behemoths (of which there are really few), Behemoth's just any other VR hack and slash. Can't comment on Vampire, I have it but haven't really played it much.

Also since we're talking about sales, Triangle Strategy is 40% off. I really hope more people support quality full games like this. The Meta store is starting to look like a phone app store with the amount of shovelware.

It's crazy people outside VR have no idea the variety of games we get. Feels like the 6th gen in alot of ways. Lots of passionate products.

Gamers won't even click on these threads and they're missing out.

RE4 VR!!!! It's so fucking fun, wtf!
The devs did an incredible job bringing it to VR. It was actually the game that got me to dip into VR. I only experienced it on the Quest 2; need to try it again now that finally upgraded to the 3 model. The 2 was so uncomfortable for me but the 3 has easily been the most comfortable I've been in VR.

insane how natural everything feels and how faithful the entire game is too. Minus a couple segments where you're taken out of first person* it adapts so faithfully while also providing a new and honestly more awesome way to experience the game. This is even better than the Wii version

*like when kicking, which I kind of wish could be turned into a motion action with FBT but expecting players to do a roundhouse every time they want some crowd control would probably be a bit demanding even if immersive

That would be even better, but this seems super easy. Not to mention people can join and watch movies with you.
Fluid doesn't have 3D movies available, it just essentially a media player or a streaming service. The Avatar clip they showed is just that, a clip from Youtube. For full movies, you either have to rip your own 3D movies or pirate them. Well, Disney+ has a 3d section but it's exclusive to the Apple Vision Pro. Meta really dropped the ball on 3D content. Yeah, they have MetaTV and the stuff there is pretty sparse. Faceless Lady was cool but they never really did anything else after that.

I already have a solid library of 3d movies so it's nice to have another option I didn't even know about.
