That said there's supposedly a countdown going on for the event on various konami twitters, there's a crazy theory that says the last time they did that GZ's release date happened.

I think we might get a release date soon, and Taipei wouldn't exactly be a bad venue for them since I'm sure there's a large audience there.

not necessarily. it could be Destination PS, which i believe MGS4 was. also, i don't really recall MGS games getting release date announcements at big events in the past. most games actually announce release dates away from big events so they can at least dominate a news cycle
