From what I hear, Konami is bad about sending out games everywhere. Some people weren't getting GZ until after it launched on PSN. Not that it mattered for that game.

Doesn't really matter either, TPP will be 100 hours. Ain't nobody finishing it on release.

Judging by PO quasi-canon status, do you think Big Boss has met Gray Fox OR Campbell yet officially? Seems like he just cherry picks what counts. Was Null even really a thing?

I like to think of it as if someone was telling me a third-hand story. The outline happened, but the specifics are lost in the telephone game

I like to think of the whole series that way, the exaggerated legend of the Snake ('u') also I thought it was kinda crazy how snake could actually stop peace walker's foot from crushing him.

Edit: I know its Metal Gear but last I checked Snake didnt have super strength.

It would make sense that big boss and grey fox met each other by the time phantom pain starts, or at least I think it will.

I haven't played PO so I'm not so sure on the details of it being quasi-canon.

In an interview on Twitch in March 2014, Hideo Kojima stated that while the core story of Portable Ops is canon, details that doesn't match with the other games in the series are not part of the main Metal Gear saga due to the fact that he didn't write the game's story

Weird stuff. Anyway, leaves me completely guessing on what does and doesn't count. We'll see if there are some major rewrites soon in TPP I suppose!

I finished watching the Portable Ops cutscenes and didn't like the story much either, nor the "retcons" like 'Volgin was actually manipulated into firing the Davy Crockett because reasons'. I assume Ocelot was talking to Zero at the end? We'll see if any of that matters in MGSV although Kojima will most likely ignore anything that has to do with PO.

from what we know, it'll be simultaneous and all announced modes will be available from launch, no heists here

didn't they already say though that MGO development would not impede the release of TPP? that would imply they are willing to release TPP with MGO still in development

I first played MGS3 around the time Led Zeppelin - Mothership came out, so Achilles Last Stand is kinda ingrained in my head, and when I hear it I always think back to MGS3. It's dark.
