Yeah bloodborne can wait.

Ya'll with your "normal" PS4's will look stupid when Rajang and I get our special MGSV PS4 with Shinkawa art on it... muhahahaaa

:lolol

Can't wait. Maybe I will even buy two. Sell one on ebay for 2000 bucks.

bloodborne looks cool. i tried demon's souls once and couldn't get into it. that's my only exposure to the souls series. having said that, i'm looking more forward to that than persona or any other jrpgs you guys like *dodges tomatoes*

I'm not a Persona fan either, but I'm interested in playing the series after seeing the Persona 5 trailers.

Sn4ke will b mad if Konami sends me super secret review swag for MGS V with toys 'n shit

Wouldn't surprise me. The gaming press in Europe gets alot of goodies, am I right?

Haha, who was it again who got his MGR review copy like two weeks later?

You made me remember, you bastard. I think it's time have a little chat with CEO Tora. Time to fire his Belgian PR company and send me the review copy two weeks before release.

I bought a PS4 at launch, sold it for the white one. If there's an MGS4 version, I'll sell this one, and buy that one. I'm not missing out on anything. ;)

With a name like that, I hope you play MonHun.

I do/did.

Played almost every Monster Hunter game. I stopped playing the series after finishing Portable 3rd. I hate the direction they took starting with 3rd gen. They started dumbing down the series, focused way too much on catering to casuals. It became way too easy, they took out the sense of accomplishment, nerfed monster dmg output across the board, added stamina system which on paper sounds great but the monsters literally stop moving for 15+ seconds after a few minutes of fighting so you can get free hits (WTF?!). The series peaked with Freedom Unite for me (in terms of just gameplay/difficulty etc).

I agree with you when it comes to the Gen 3 titles. Nothing in tri or 3 ultimate compares to some of the fights in MHFU.

With that said, I have heard from various sources that 4U is the hardest game since MHFU. I can't say myself because I am still in Low Rank village and it's been fairly easy so far. Supposedly the game scales much better though, allowing newer players time to get to understand the mechanics, while giving hardcore players meaningful challenge in late game.

Also, you have to admit that some of the difficulty in MHFU was from their shit hitboxes, so I don't blame later titles for fixing that.

Hitboxes were not the only reason it was difficult. I'm really glad they fixed the hitboxes in gen 3 but you could get used to them after a few hours in FU. The only thing that was truly bullshit was Plesioth, I could never get used to his hitbox.

Gen 3 was just waaay too easy because they wanted to cater to more gamers than just the MH fans. They toned down the difficulty because of it. I never even failed a single quest in third gen, im not joking. I rarely died even with underpowered armor. There is almost no need to get high level armor. The monsters do shit for damage and you have high base armor for some reason, even without wearing any. They really nerfed damage output on every single monster that re-appeared from Gen 2. In MHFU the monsteres also moved faster and did not stop moving after just a few minutes of fighting. Just compare Tigrex from Freedom Unite to that of third gen. Tigrex is an absolute joke in third gen.

I always said that Monster Hunter was the Souls game before Souls. There was no other game that had the same sense of accomplishment. They really ruined that part of the game starting with gen 3 just to cater to new players. I just want to get destroyed agian like the first time I faced a Tigrex, Nargacuga or Rajang (good lord HR9 Golden Rajang). I had so little trouble with all the new monsters in third gen and they didn't excite me at all. I only liked Jinouga.

I really hope 4U is good, I want to get back into it. But if its anything like third gen I think I'm done with the series.

p.s MGS is awesome. :> And I will never abandon that franchise

I never said hitboxes were the only reason. I simply mentioned it because it was a welcome improvement to the series. From what I hear, the monsters hit harder than in 3rd gen, but again I can't say for myself yet.

I remember Tigrex low rank was a fucking wall in MHFU though, and I expect it to be rather easy in low rank this time. But again, I think that's partly because the game eases players into the difficulty with 4U.

Nothin may ever top my memories of Final Invitation though. The frustration, the rage, and the eventual euphoria of fucking those assholes up. Anyway, I'll come back with impressions once I've had more time with the game.

Oh yeah, MGS rules, release date imminent cuz Kojima posted food that looks like a metal gear etc.

It is. 4U is great.

Why did you leave out my last sentence?

Im curious what other MH vets think about the game. I remember alot of MH fans sharing my concerns for the series because of GEN 3. And it doesnt appear that much has changed? Ofcourse people who have never experienced the older games will like it, MH franchise is great but I don't want to experience the overly dumbed down and casualised crap that was gen 3 again.

edit: Its a bit like Hitman series. Blood Money and Absolution. Hitman fans think the series peaked with Blood Money. But they started to cater to the mainstream audience with their next game and alienated alot of their fans with the changes they made.

Why did you leave out my last sentence?

You mean how it compares to gen3?
It seems to me that it starts just as user friendly, but it scales up better as you progress.
For the record i don't have the game yet as it would make no sense since I literally can't find the time for it atm, but my brother is a vet and has it since release and he is constantly texting me in excitement over the changes.
I also played two hunts, one on release date which was gen3 quality really, and one yesterday, as he came over for coffee, and last night's hunt was an improvement over everything i'd played in 3.
I'm rusty, i still haven't got the grips since it's been a couple of years since i played MonHun and i actually had to hand it over to him to finish it, it was a great hunt.
I see myself getting 4U and getting back into the series sometime in the summer, but if you liked MonHun, i think you will love 4U.
Now back to MGS talk, the superior game :p
And maybe some Bloodborne too.

Why do the Japanese need porn descramblers anyway? Is their porn censored?

Pornography in Japan

Sadly, that's one of the most disgusting things that most of it is censored. Which is pretty strange, because japanese girls deliver almost always the most fucked up fantasies. Geez... I want to see Ameri Ichinose in all her beauty.

I know right.

Cipher Cat must be killing himself that DD is a dog.

:>

Don't worry Cipher Cat, there are always mods on PC version.. so you can replace DD with a fluffy cat.

B-ACGv7CAAA-rQk.jpg

But.. I am playing the PS4 version.

Fucking cat lovers.

Go play Persona 5 if you want cats.

Kojima went for the superior animal, we all know it.

Fuck DD!

Nuke the Cat and Ocelot = best cats!

That Destiny thread on gaming makes me sad. Not just for what happened, but because people are actually blaming the kid and throwing the word karma around.

In what way can people say that is bad karma? Because he played Destiny?
