I guess this means we won't have to worry about that abysmal vegetation pop-in that was prevalent in those TPP gameplay videos. Thank fuck. Now let's see if they've sorted the hair dithering.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

1. judging pop-in on an UNFINISHED game, not very smart

2. Afghanistan gameplay videos were still "early stage" according to Kojima

3. no pop-in in the TGS jungle gameplay demo

4. they're constantly working on the game

5. !

There was some, but I mostly noticed it only during intro when BB was on the choppa. During on-foot sections, pop-in was less visible than in Afghanistan.

GZ had a lot of pop-in too, so I'd say it was smart to judge similar stuff occurring in the TPP videos :p

This is going to be a tough choice at this point. Do you risk getting the PC version which could possibly not run well on your system when the PS4 version will still run at 1080p 60fps...

Or you could wait to see how it performs on various rigs on release and then buy the PC version.

What this also does is make me want MGS4 ported even more. (Yeah I actually liked that game, sue me)

i riked it too and if it weren't for this, dragon's dogma and vanquish i would've thrown out my ps3 out the window a long time ago
also for all the shit kojima's games get about cutscenes whenever i want to replay the game i can skip everything and get into the game after a minute or so (well if you don't count the bloody install times and loadings), can't say the same for most aaa western games nowadays

will gently cradle you as time slowly ticks away.
I wonder what performance I can expect with my 750 Ti.

Or should I be more concerned with my Q9450 (OC'd to 2.8Ghz)?

This comment over at the NV blog is pretty funny:
hmm, very underwhelming...
At least I thought it was, considering that the difference to PS4 seems like one of the largest in recent memory to me (based on the massive increase in geometry, light and foliage LoD distance on top of the new effects).

Am I blind, or does PC version lacks water splashes when rain drops hit the ground? Maybe it is just a bad timing of a screenshot.
It's timing, there are splashes in the back.

I've noticed there doesnt seem to be much in the way of anti-aliasing options. Really hope they sort that out
I guess that, like in almost all recent games, the best quality will be provided by post-AA + downsampling.

not sure if it's just a result of increased draw distance, but it looks like the pc version has slightly denser vegetation?

either way, very impressive looking. the lighting changes make all the difference.

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
It's a rather small difference compared to this, IMHO. Especially since LoD popup is even more noticeable in motion.

That pop-in is mostly hidden by a fence if you go the most obvious way, or by rocks and bushes if you go the other way. Still, nice to see all that stuff at once. I look forward to playing it again.
