No, it's to tell you that she is watching and ready.

It's annoying.
It means she's got her sniper focused on a headshot and if you command her to fire it will kill/tranq guaranteed.
It's useful as a way to let you know. It's like she's asking permission before she pulls the trigger.
I find that usually when the base isn't on alert, she won't fire unless given the command. But I'm not certain about that.
I've been loving using her. Hiding out behind a base, then waiting for her humming m, giving the fire command, and then when they all turn to the sniper I Fulton all their supply crates out while she works the base over. It's almost like I'm not even playing anymore.

So far this is my GOTY followed closely by Bloodborne. My opinion could still change, but unless the quality drops a lot in the second half or the game starts becoming overwhelmingly repetitive/stale, then I don't see that happening. Still need to play Witcher 3 though.

It's unfortunate to see there's some folks down on this game because it's not like the others and/or it didn't meet their expectations. While I can understand where they're coming from, so far this has been an amazing experience for me. I admit that as far as storyline goes it doesn't look like what I was expecting it to be, but the gameplay has been enough to compensate for that and then some.

The story so far has been coming at an okay pace. I'm 22 hours in which is more than any other metal gear I've played, so it feels like there's less story per game time, but for how far percentage wise I'm in it feels about right.

She hums when she has a lock on an enemy and is ready to kill/tranq. Not a glitch.

I remember there being an option to tell her to be silent with L1, can't see it now that she can fire at will from an order.

Thank you.
I only have the kill order and talk to Quiet but I'm not sure what it does. Big Boss only says "Quiet!" and nothing happens and she continues the noise.

That's unfortunate. I don't think I want her on my team like that.
I'm playing stealthy and without killing so I have no use for her until I get a tranquillizer sniper rifle for her except for scouting but not when she's that annoying to be around :(

By the way, speaking of the wandering man ops...is it just me that has a ridiculously hard time with those? I keep taking sniper shots with tranq darts and it takes forever to get them down. Is there a faster way to get them to calm the hell down?

Yes, pretty much straight after completing them for the first time.

Wait, really? Haha man I could swear they weren't replayable, thanks!

I've been in hospital for a short while there having my appendix removed and I'm really disappointed to see the servers down right now. I was lucky enough to get the game early and complete 30% before the first but to be away and come back and I still can't transfer my Ground Zeroes content? The fuck Konami? Should have been patched to read from the save....

I'm fucking loving this game so much.
It's incredible how little I care for most people problems with the game:

- Silent Venom Snake
- Sparse story during missions

Just finished Mission 11, and now I'm doing Mission 10.

By the way guys, I noticed my Side Ops are out of order, and there was a Side Op that I was going to do that is gone from the list.
Did I fuck up or will they return?

Well
cardboard box is your friend. He will come to investigate and when close enough press R2 and grab him, piece of cake xD

I'm definitely finding the game more tedious than I wanted to :(

I really feel like they are making me waste my time with all the chopper travelling and all the walking around between camps and villages, since the open world feels really empty. I'm trying to get hooked but the more I play, the less I want to.

Fultoning is cool and all and building mother base is awesome but the fulton mechanic is actually breaking immersion for me at times. Will keep on pushing.

Is it actually possible to do mission 8 without missiles? Those tanks are tough. Luckily my R&D department got to the right level in the middle of the mission and I was able to get them through a supply drop. I went in thinking C4 and a grenade launcher would be enough, but nope

I stole a tank and bye bye enemies.

If they didn't change anything between GZ and TPP in terms of C4 damage to tanks you need like 3-4 C4 to blow up a tank IIRC

They are designed to be played more than once, as there are objectives that you can only achieve once your gear is upgraded enough (like fultoning crates etc)

I think I tried to replay a side-op and that's what got me confused, I figured I had to do something to trigger the ability to replay them or something.

Why does a side OP I've already done (twice I think) still have a white dot?

Easy grind from what I understood, for good recruits and easy GMP.

You could always press select and press return to ACC after finishing a mission/side op, just be sure it autosaves before doing so. This way you'll save GMP and time.

Is there a way of having the helicopter pick me up in Afghanistan and drop me somewhere else on the map, like it will at mother base?

Yep just take out the iDroid and hit up/down on the d pad until you see helicopter and it'll show you all the available landing zones

So I just discovered how to Fulton a ton of people at once.

So I was bored and spent a good while gathering all these guys in this truck and wanted to see if I could get them all in the truck bed.

Then of course I figured, should see if Fulton takes all of them. So with as many soldiers as I could cram into this truck I gave Fulton a shot and goddamn I was shocked to find it worked.

Learn to just hit pause and choose 'Return to the ACC' the instant you start feeling bored by the open world.

Last night I had the most fun I've ever had with the game (almost on Episode 20) and that's because every time I was getting bored I just used the 'Return to the ACC' command and did something else. It became so much more focused and awesome, like no filler.

I'd recommend everyone do this.

Oh yeah by the way, question...can you replay story missions at any point?

Yeah! Replay any mission at any point. Try out different tactics. It's more fun than it sounds.

DUDE THE GAME HAS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

Best helicopter music.

Until I start playing on PC and make Death Grips – The Fever my helicopter music.

Oh my the scene I've seen mentioned in here on the medical platform in the med bay, wow.

I did not expect that. So Snake was just tripping balls in GZ with what he saw? Maybe it'll be explained later, don't let on if that is the case ;) .

there is more to one ending to this game? without any spoilers(I don't have the game yet) how many endings are there?

One "ending" and then the true ending. There is a bunch of additional story after the first ending to view the true ending. I would say the post "ending" story is the best part of the game.

Is there a disadvantage to the Sneaking Suit? Like bad for camo or daytime or something?

Yeah it's not great for daytime ops, low camo impact, but it's not that bad. Doing most stuff in the daytime is a dodgy idea unless you have exactly the right camo and you crawl everywhere.

Facepalming at cliffhanger missions that have me reappear at the ACC helicopter or whatever it's called at the end only to reappear at whatever dangerous cliffhanger i was at in the next mission. What an immersion killer. ffs kojima.

I haven't been following the thread too closely out of fear of spoilers, so bear with me if this has already been answered. I just got my copy of the game and i'm getting an error trying to redeem the MGO additional content code, it says it's no longer valid. Am i correct in assuming the code doesn't work because MGO hasn't launched yet, or should i be able to redeem it already? The game was sealed and the code for the SP content worked.
