Can you just run to the truck and fulton it ?

Also is it possible to fulton vehicles and extract with it similar to containers?

Yes,

The starting point of the truck is at the airport. Go there with D-horse, sneak into the airport via the power engine, then sneak to the truck. There is one guard near the power unit but once you spot the truck you get the skulls cutscene. Fulton truck, run the other way, call D-horse and exfiltrate.

The more I play this game, the more amazed I get that Snake and Otacon turned out so well when their dads kinda suck haha.

I wonder how much of that is because the series because a little bit more cynical as it went on and how much is purposefully done around the idea that Big Boss' generation kinda fucked up and Snake's had to clean up that mess.

The servers were not up and they thought you could build many FOBs.
There's also a lot to do with hype, reviewers give in to it and do not introspect what they have just witnessed. This is why the repeats, rehashes and other materials never got criticised even in the tiniest form from the majority of the reviewers...that in my opinion is very disingenuous as it does not really "review" the game but just give your first impressions until a certain point in the game.

It's absurdly frustrating because you can see how the FOB stuff has infected the single player. I have a full roster of B and A rank combat soldiers but I can't do shit with them because I can only send out two parties at once for combat deployment missions.

Fuck you Konami.

30 hours played, 20% overall completion

I'm gonna burn out before finishing this game, aren't I? I should probably stick with the main ops and not do every single side op too.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
That detail though

This game

This is pretty common for the Metal Gear games, and others I think (like Battlefield).

I really like the gunplay, but I miss the hyper detail gunporn of MGS4 a little bit, where the animators/artists/soundteam went balls deep with details.

Ofcourse I know that, what I meant was that the magazine needs to land quite close to the enemy for them to notice, usually somewhere within 10 m from their location (and I say 10m generously).

Just lure them with multiple magazines, you can get them further and further

I started to feel like this too. I'm 33% at 26 hours played. I try to knock out 3 main missions per 1 side op. Also going back to ACC and loading in again helps speed up those side ops.

It's just a matter of consideration when multiple people respond negatively, not principle.

I give my consideration when I spoiler tag the necessary. In fact, I considered that if the smallest of things like the thing before is to be considered a spoiler for a member, then that person should also have the consideration to not enter this very thread where members write about the game. Such small deets being spoiler tagged shouldn't be the standard. I've never seen it being pushed so much before today either. This is just mind blowing to me, it's being way too extreme.

Now that I think about it, I wrote the exact same thing in almost the exact same manner as you did when I played that mission, except I wrote "when you meet Huey" and that "This game just became the Metal Gear I know". No one was bothered with it really back then.

SomTervo was probably sleeping or playing the game at that point in time! :D

Here I was just in awe with the mission I had finished and wanting to share my joy with GAF. Little did I know....

Anyone who claimed that microtransactions wouldn't affect game design can now revel in how utterly wrong they were. As you're restricted to a max of 3 combat deployments for your soldiers unless you purchase extra FOBs, you'll have a much harder time dealing with enemy upgrades (e.g. helmets, riot suits, claymores, etc) because those types of deployments take about 40 minutes of in-game time. So you'll eliminate a few upgrades, start work on another few, and in the meantime the previous enemy upgrades will reappear.

WTF? I can only deploy one group of soldiers before it tells me I need to purchase more FOBs!

I started burning out the last couple of days. You need to really focus on being productive in the game (always 'Return to ACC' from the pause menu when you start getting bored) or it gets really tiring to play.

This is pretty common for the Metal Gear games, and others I think (like Battlefield).

I have to say, I feel the same. I even have an IRL collectible model of Old Snake from MGS4, and the little plastic model of his gun is incredible. MGS4 definitely nailed this, and I expected more of it in MGSV.

For example, in MGSV, when you load that bullet into the chamber when you first deploy, no shell casing comes out the other side of the gun. I loved this detail in MGS4 and really miss it in this.

Don't know if this counts as a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway. It's about a song that plays at Mother Base.
I just got Quiet and I went over to her cell and True by Spandau Ballet started playing over the loud speakers. I haven't collected the song so it's not in my music tape collection. Is there a place on the base I can get it? Following the sound doesn't work because it's not playing on a tape deck.

Think I'm gonna start doing this, too, and try to stick with the side ops that matter (
legendary gunsmith
, etc)

I'm going to be playing myself and/or watching the Chip & Ironicus let's plays of MGS1, 2 and 4 after TPP anyway, don't want to burn too much.

Of course, those games are far, far shorter.

A jeep showed up on my mother base yesterday so of course I drove it into the ocean. Problem is it didn't "respawn." Is it gone forever?

That side op where you
chase down a whacked out old mother base survivor
was great. That's the type of nutty shit you don't find in open world games that take themselves too damn seriously.

I swear I either have the worst luck in the world or these servers are crap. Every damn time I start up the game I get cannot log into server. I don't care right now because I don't have an FOB but when I do that is going to get annoying.

What does deploying soldiers to combat missions actually get you? I don't think I even touched that mode in peace walker

well fob is fun, but dam it's not as fluid as advertised.
if your invading, you get reset to the starting point when the defender joins. but all other characters hold heir position.
Edit: can't do the. Anymore, konami plz

Do you see this in the aerial command menu? And is it at any time? I'll check this after work. I guess spoiler tag.

Easter egg spoilers:
Zoom into the window to the right of BB in when you're in the helicopter in the ACC. On PC i pressed MMB so i don't know consoles.

The final level for R&D platform requires 50k of fuel and common metal.

How the fuck am I supposed to get that.

I know how Konami wants you to get that stuff.

It's a fast-moving thread! I can't hyper-police every page :p

J/k. Probably did go too far. Seen a few people be spoilered quite nastily ITT and my knee-jerk reaction was pretty potent because of that.

If you collect all the resources from an area in a mission the first time through does it fully re-stock with resources when you replay the mission? I need fuel, metal, etc. and I remember some missions being absolutely loaded with them.

I just don't know how people who got the game on the 1st are so far into it. I have been setting aside more time for this game (around 4 hours a day) than any other in years. It's simply not possible for me to play any longer due to work, eating and not pissing family off. On top of that I think I'd run into fatigue playing it so much. It could be the best game ever, but I'm going to get burnt out playing it for such long sessions.

Doesn't it hamper your enjoyment? I'm at the stage where I can't wait to play it again, I'm so eager to dive back in, but when I was a teen playing Final Fantasy games for 9-10 hours at a time it just started feeling like a chore in the end, it felt like work. It must have an effect on your enjoyment, and your experience of it will probably not align with the majority of people that have a drip feed approach.
