Sorry if this has been answered, thread is moving too fast.

How in depth is the emblem customization? Is it something like the Forza livery editor or GTA online where you can adjust the size/skew of different graphics and layer them? Or is it more just selecting from some premade emblems?

Selecting from premade words, letters and emblems. Still pretty customizable Id say

Release Date September 1, 2015 – 00:00:00 UTC (1441065600)

Re-calculating release time!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but midnight UTC unlock, it's 4 PM right now which would be 8 hours, not 9.

I have a concern... Does the silence tranq sniper totally botch this games difficulty like it did in MGS4? I destroyed that game with this weapon and I didn't really like to hear that it was in this game. Do they balance it better?

chapter one is finishing all main missions? How many chapters are there? And you sound like the second chapter is disappointing. Is it because of the story or missions?
it's because
Chapter 2 story largely consists of main missions which are just modified previous missions, such as hard mode boss battles
.
I actually would of enjoyed the game more If I didn't care for the story.

Can you disable the notifications from the Intel Team telling you every time enemies are up ahead? Kinda ruins the fun for me...

Don't go by the UTC time on the SteamDB site, just saying. Because if you go by that, SteamDB says Mad Max already released 16 hours ago.

Question for those who are playing it early: What am I supposed to do with the materials I've collected? I've got categories such as processed and unprocessed.

Should I be selling my stockpiles?

Didn't the preload time start around then?

No, preload started earlier. The SteamDB dates are just placeholders and afaik say midnight UTC for every game.

Our best bet is still what Konami says actually, since they can change the unlock time whenever they want.

Just made it in time, my body is ready for TPP now.

Unlocking the trials was a pain in the ass, specifically the marking of enemies.

What the... Amazon has my delivery estimate between this Friday and the 8th. WTF? I've always gotten my games on release Day. Should I cancel or is this date estimate hogwash?

Was gone all day yesterday so I couldn't start any sort of preloading, unfortunately. Went to preorder on PSN today and say "Play on 9-01-2015 Midnight Pacific Time." Is this serious? I'm in Central time and I want to play tonight, not at fucking 3AM. If that's true, I want to go preorder at Gamestop or something instead.

Does anyone know? Hopefully I can get an answer quick because I still need to download the whole thing.

Complain to Amazon customer service, I've always gotten like $10 knocked off my order.

Then go out and buy it, then sell the Amazon one!

Just made it to
Africa.
I unlocked it a couple of hours ago but I've been having to much fun with the Side Ops. Just checked and after 23 hours I'm on
25
% through the missions and
18
% through the game as a whole. It's gonna take a while!

Two years ago I was incredibly hyped for this game. But now, after years and an extended demo in between... I just have no more hype left. I think I'm gonna hold off for a bit. I have a lot of other games I want to play.

My pre-order is counting down to midnight EDT, which is my timezone.

Have to wait until 5am Irish time then start my download when I get up at 7am and I'm off work tomorrow from 3pm so I'm really hoping it'll be ready.

Come on Steam, with your insatiable appetite for MOAR BANDWIDTH!!! Don't let me down!!!!!

SteamDB developer and generally a pretty crafty guy.
SteamDB is showing release dates from the Steam Store, which can be seen on the store page on the right. It's defaulting to 00:00:00 UTC and thus timeago plugin misleads with "8 hours". I will try to fix this today.

I loved MGS, MGS2 and MGS3. But never played MGS4.

Can I play this before starting MGS4?

Yeah, MGS4 is the last in the timeline and happens after everything else. This one is another Big Boss prequel.

What you do need to catch up on is Peace Walker. That introduces a lot of characters that will be appearing again in this.

You can, and should be fine for the most part. MGSV comes before MGS4 in the timeline.

MGS3 -> Peace Walker -> Ground Zeroes -> MGSV -> MG1 -> MG2 -> MGS1 -> MGS2 -> MGS4

There are bits and pieces that annoy me about this game, almost to the point of not understanding how did reviewers came up with those perfect scores, but then comes something like Chapter 11 and it has me again.

For me this is a 10/10 game...but I'm gonna mark it down to a 9/10 because I CAN'T FIND ANY CLIMBING CRACKS GODDAMN IT KOJIMA LEVEL DESIGN 101.

My guaranteed 9/1 delivery from Amazon on the CE/Guide didn't ship until this morning and UPS says it'll arrive Wednesday.... interesting.

Yeah, as someone already mentioned the time line would allow for that. Seeing as you won't have enough time to play, read the story of Peace Walker as it will be important and introduces a lot of returning characters in MGSV. There are some videos of the full story on YouTube. That's what I did!

Damn you Monkey Island 2: Special Edition! From a distance your little Steam icon looks like the MGSV icon and upon clicking you my eyes were immediately greeted by that sweet sumptuous blue Install button; yet t'was not to be for I was only to have my heart rended from my chest upon a second glance at the name. Damn you Monkey Island 2 - damn you straight to hell.

Lol, amazing!
This game is messing with us so much.

For my personal review score, if a game is fun out outta the ass, then a 10 is justified. Even one of my favorite games, Dragon's Dogma, has tons of technical problems, but it's just so damn enjoyable that I can look past that.

Compare that to, you know, Ride To Hell, where the glaring issues are embedded in the gameplay and can' be rooted out.

This game so far is basically RNG missions the game with one or two actual story missions thrown in every 5 hours or so most of the time they are pretty short and don't offer any development. That mission where I met
Huey
(hints on the spoiler, this is the mission where you first see a D walker) is the closest the game has been to being "Metal Gear"

A while ago I had to look for a truck in Africa while on a mission (spoilers about the mission)
it's the one where I get ambushed by the mist unit near the end.
That was the last time i came across anything that had something to do with the main plot.

How far do you think I am in the game plot/story wise? Because so far I still seem to be in Chapter
one
, I really really do hope that the plot missions become a bit more prominent later on because right now the "main missions" are nothing but slightly more elaborate side ops.

Wow, feels strange to finally have the game installed on my PS4 after all these years of waiting. Only sad thing is, I have work tonight so I won't be able to play until 16 hours or so from now...
