Shit numbers ngl

Expected 6+ mil from this new franchise

I really wanted to like this game, but I found it incredibly overrated. And I absolutely loved Persona 4 and 5.

I platinumed it, but I found myself skipping a lot of dialog later on as it took forever and I just couldn't make myself care in the terrible story.

Is this game good? Pretty sure I saw it on gamepass, but I just skipped over it

Too many good games on gamepass it's getting absurd

Still need to beat 33 while it's still on Gamepass
The dungeons are quite average but the rest is all pretty cool, specially the combat, characters and story/wriitting.

I guess I'm not the only one that thinks this is slightly overrated compared to Persona 5. It's fun but I don't think the story and and characters are nearly as good.

What the hell happened? The game sold 1M in a day and then took 9 months to double that number.

It should have cleared 4M under normal circumstances. The sales slowed down dramatically after its release.

I never thought it was going to be a huge seller, but was surprised at this number when it leaked. Not good at all.

It just looks so tired and generic for being a "new IP". Like an unholy mixture of Persona, SMT4 and the Tales Of Xillia games. Really lame.

For some reason the game didn't click for me. I just didn't find neither the story nor the characters interesting. And I have played through vast majority of Atlus' games since PSX days, love SMT and liked most Persona games.

I dropped this game after about 15 hours. I may come back to it at some point, but too many other great games to play so that won't happen soon.

Oh, never mind. This was in their June financial report that covered up to March 2025. So 1M in 1 day and 2M in ~6 months. Might do 3M in a year.

not so sure about the smt4 part, but the persona/tales description (tho it'd never occurred to me) is perfect...

while i'm hoping it at least made a profit, i can't say i'm disappointed if it turns out to be a one & done title because of this. uneven, overly-serious, & too long for its own good. better than i'd anticipated, but in the end quite forgettable...

This sounds lower than expected.

Maybe more people have caught on that they'll just released a better version of the game in a couple of years and they are just waiting for that.

Persona seems to have a big enough fanbase that's willing to put up with their crappy way of releasing games. Their other franchises...not so much.

Playing it is tiring too, like you've seen it all before in Persona and you have

If they were going to make another Persona game, just make another Persona game instead of this game which is just Persona with extra steps

Didn't finish Persona 5, I don't like having limited time and to choose what I need to do. I think it's on sale right now on PSN. I'm tempted but constantly reminded about Persona 5.

The issue with these games for me is that they're simply too damn long.

I'll take a stab at a well reviewed game that's not normally in my wheelhouse if it's 10 hours, or 20 hours, or maybe 30 hours. But the 70/80/90/100+ hour lengths of these games is an immediate huge turnoff to me.

I didn't buy it because It didn't want another Persona 5 to Persona 5 Royal situation. They repeated this move with SMT V, so there is no way I'll buy an Atlus game at launch.

I'll wait at least a year or until it's explicitly confirmed there are no more updates coming.

Yeah there is way, way too much bloat in Persona games and it's been getting worse with each iteration

Someone needs to tell Atlus that you don't measure how good a game is by how much of your time it wastes

I highly agree with this. What I didn't like were reused assets, recurring bosses and it felt like the climax at its peak, fell on its face when it came down to it.
Characters, VAs, Most of the Story was good and there was some meaningful sidequests. Music was very good, if odd at times, lol.
The dungeon layouts and the enemy variety were equally lacklustre.

More people need to play this awesome game
It's just too long, same with the Persona games.

I wish these games had a "working adult" mode, where they'd trim everything down to a potent 20 hour game with zero filler and incredible pacing. Or, basically what Expedition 33 did.

I keep telling myself that one day I'll have the kind of free time to play through these kinds of games, but I know I'm just lying to myself.

Its solid, like mixing Persona with a traditional JRPG with actual travel. But you've seen all the gameplay in Persona already. Plot is pretty bad.

I never continued playing the game at some point.

It's a good game but I really hoped that they'd try to do more instead of "just" taking the Persona formula and put it into a fantasy setting, considering how long it was in development for and how Hashino talked about them playing pen & paper RPGs and whatnot. And also, I think Metaphor's soundtrack is Meguro's weakest work.

I downloaded it thanks to Gamepass, but deleted it without playing. It was odd. I had already tried the demo and decided I just can't spend hours on it. After Expedition 33, I'm not even sure if I'll give these "old" style jrpgs another chance.

Gamepass, i knew that the game would come out on gamepass, so, why would i waste money buying a game If i can play It for "free".

Lots and lots of ppl have this same line of thought.
