Couldn't wait any more, so I'm going to start today with the demo and transfer my save tomorrow.

edit: man the skybox in this game is pretty as fuck.

What's everyone's main character going to be?

I went Mage, as per the advice of a random video, and made Grius a Seeker. Hope I didn't screw up. I'm sure I can always change if necessary, specially early on.

I play games blind, but currently, he is a healer due to having warriors in the party. I put most of my points into magic and luck so far. I am working under the assumption that these are "bonus points" and it doesn't matter where they are assigned. Dude has literally 1 strength. :D

It's cool how you can assign skills from other archetypes into your current archetype. It reminds me of Blue Dragon!

I just unlocked Healer and skill inheritance in the demo! Definitely really nice to have.

There's a devil summoner class, I believe what it does is summon demons/personas from the other games.

Hope this demo never ends lol. Basically just starting off but anyway, just reached the fort and so far I'm liking both the writing and music quite a lot. Heard some complains about Gallica's attitude but so far I see no problems with her.

Hope I get to see some actual gameplay soon lol.
 
30 hours later, max rank with every potential archetype in the game with the 3 available characters and a whole shit ton of 1000 archetype XP items later...

Love the battle theme, reminds me a lot of Strange Journey's with the hee-ho chorus.

The dude singing before the chorus seems to really be into it. :goog_relieved:

There are people GAF who complained about battle theme and to me these people are fucking insane.....the music absolutely slaps here.

Yeah I agree. Same with the visual stuff thing, I've seen people complain about it but I'm loving the battle UI, very dynamic and with a lot of style without ever getting in the way.
 
The male vocal in the battle theme is complete garbage. They're definitely trolling us having to hear that shit in a 100+ hour game. It's one of the reasons I almost didn't buy the game.

The rest of the theme is good.

I love that part lol.

Just found out there's different battle theme depending on how the battle starts, very nice.
 
Consider me fucking insane because I don't like a lot of the VFX or some of the UI either. Thankfully, Lyall's mod gets rid of that horrible blur when sprinting and it looks like he may have figured out how to center the HUD in ultrawide. That'll alleviate a lot of the issues I have with it.

Consider me even more insane for buying the game anyway.

Yeah, it might end up growing on you. I didn't like Strange Journey's battle theme at first either.

Thing is I just spent +100 hours on SMT V and while I love it's music, Metaphor's is a welcome change of pace.
 
My PS5 copy arrived earlier today, decided to start the game from the beginning instead of continuing from the demo save.
Have to say my hype about this game was pretty low, was not in my day 1 purchase list, but the demo changed my mind. The art style keeps growing on me the more i play it, combat and some mechanics are very persona like, English VA is pretty great and a killer OST.
 
Is there no penalty to rewinding time in battles? Seems like a very generous thing to have.
 
One thing I'm happy to see is there is no day one DLC here like we usually get with Atlus these days.

GameStop called to say my copy is waiting. I was hoping they would call P to confirm, since I noticed that the PS5 edition is sold out.

I don't think any demos award trophies. The full game should trigger them when you load your save file.

I'm glad a demo exists because I'm really not feeling everything I'm seeing so far. The clearly androgynous to please everyone main character to the battle music? Hell fucking no.

Eventually I'll get to it. Certainly not at $70 though.

On the bright side the positive word made me finally buy the PS5 version of P5 Royal (third time buying total). $24 on PSN currently 😮

LMAO I thought it was cool for the first 5 minutes but then it quickly started to grate

100+ hours of listening to that is insane tier

I actually turned the music down in the demo, I have literally never turned the music down in an Atlus game ever before
