Just because people spend more money on one platform isn't reflective of player base. They could all be tight arsed on PC LOL
I'm talking about the player base being bigger. The author's just made that up

Activision announced in recent earnings that "Call of Duty" currently has 111 million monthly active users. COD wasn't on steam, until this year.
So far, consoles have been the major players.
That doesn't say what you seem to think it does.

Activision had 111 million MAUsD in the third quarter.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® and WarzoneTM saw more than three times as many MAUsD as the prior
title in the year-ago quarter. Console MAUsD grew strongly and PC MAUsD grew over ten-fold year-over-
year. Across PC and console combined, hours played were approximately seven times higher year-over-
year.
We again saw substantial year-over-year growth in premium game sales as Warzone players chose to
upgrade to the full Call of Duty experience. Modern Warfare first-year premium sales are the highest in
Call of Duty's history, with two-thirds of units sold digitally.
Call of Duty console and PC in-game net bookingsC were four times the year-ago level.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on November 13 into the largest and most engaged
community in franchise history at the time of launch, and will support cross-platform play across PC, current-
generation, and next-generation consoles. Anticipation for the release is high, with far more players
engaged in the game's public testing than for the year-ago title.
Call of Duty Mobile sustained the impressive levels of reach and engagement from the prior quarter, as the
title crossed its one year anniversary. The title was the highest grossing new game in US app stores since
its launch last October1 and is now in final large-scale testing in China, where over 50 million players have
pre-registered to date.
The inaugural season of the Call of Duty LeagueTM concluded with the September Champs Weekend
breaking viewership records for a Call of Duty esports event.

That being said, and this goes for the rest of these numbers, this is a very unreliable sample. The survey distributed on Charlie Intel's Twitter page, garnering a 51,206 votes. The actual data gives us a PC player base of 28.4%. Similarly, a poll from MWZ gathered 26,239 votes with 30.7% reporting that they played on PC. We have therefore determined that the real number is likely to be around 30%. The problem, though, is that this data was collected from a largely biased sample, as hardcore players are the one's more likely to respond to a survey from either of these outlets.
Any poll is subject to bias.
But it won't change the fact that we have. Which is PS higher userbase, and pc only having 1 launcher.
The estimate would be 40+%ps, 30+% pc, 25+% for xbox.
Only market xbox is strong is US and UK. The rest PS has dominance.

Dude 1 launcher.and PC market is all over the world is it not
You know the bolded isn't the quote we're after right?
its shows accuracy of growth at 10 times does it now?

10x growth != "more players on PC than anywhere else"
This isn't a difficult concept to grasp.

This isn't a difficult concept to grasp.
Reading is hard for some people.
It's specifically talks about pc, and how much growth it did.
I dont know how he reached that conclusion.
It's has to do with this.so if the game was to grow 10 times the player base would have to only be 4-5 million to start with to be less than PS. because if you grow 10 times and you have 5 million guess what its over 50 million and we have to count xbox and PS to make up that final 61 million. so take you guess
This latest ban wave puts the total number of banned accounts to over 700,000, according to the company's tally. In May of this year, Raven Software tweeted that it had banned "over half a million accounts" in Warzone. Since then, there have been two ban waves of 50,000 accounts each, and this latest one of over 100,000.
so if the game was to grow 10 times the player base would have to only be 4-5 million to start with to be less than PS. because if you grow 10 times and you have 5 million guess what its over 50 million and we have to count xbox and PS to make up that final 61 million. so take you guess
is steam the only place you can play call of duty on PC?

I think the issue is The Wrap got their wording wrong for some reason. PC saw the most growth in that period with a 10 times increase. The Wrap seems to conflate that to most MAU on computers. The PC Gamer article on the same earnings call makes no claim of PC having most MAUs and they definitely would have if that had been stated.

Call of Duty: Warzone has made the series 10 times more popular on PC
The Price was right.www.pcgamer.com
Again this is 2 years old, I don't know where things stand now.
there is a post earlier where Activision themselves say there is 10 times more MAU's
Alegre went on to talk specifically about Warzone's appeal, and noted that "monthly players grew over tenfold year-over-year on PC." That is, there are more than ten times as many PC Call of Duty players as there were this time last year. By any metric that's an astonishing leap for a series as long-established as this.
there is a post earlier where Activision themselves say there is 10 times more MAU's
This is according to a recent press release from the company that presents its earnings for Q2 of the fiscal year in 2022. The data showed that in June, Activision Blizzard's MAUs listed only 94 million active users, which is lower than last quarter's recorded MAUs of 100 million players monthly. This makes a total of 361 million MAUs for the quarter, compared to last year's Q2 which listed 408 million MAUs.
But meta scores are far and beyond the most representative of a game's quality.
Real serious question... Do you actually believe that PR?
Phil Spencer first said that back in 2019 and we're about to hit 2023 that's like 4 years. I don't have that type of faith in any CEO's words in or outside of gaming. But 4 years of zero AAA games I figured you'd know the difference.
I'm just surprised to see it posted like he came out with that nugget of info last month, let alone 4 years ago and still nothing.
Instead of focusing on Microsoft's conduct with respect to Minecraft, the CMA looks to Microsoft's conduct with respect to the acquisition of less valuable game titles. The CMA concludes that:
Microsoft has pursued this strategy [of making acquired content exclusive to Xbox] when acquiring content that is far less valuable than ABK's [Activision's] games, and hence far less likely to divert customers to its console. As such, the CMA considers that Microsoft may have an even stronger incentive to make ABK's content exclusive to Xbox post-Merger.
This is the exact opposite conclusion that we should draw from Microsoft's conduct. When a game title is not very valuable, the cost to making that title exclusive to the Xbox is relatively low. That is, Microsoft does not lose very many customers accessing that title on Sony's console because there are not very many customers to begin with. For a popular game franchise like Call of Duty, the cost of making those titles exclusive is much higher suggesting a weaker incentive to make the content exclusive post-merger.
Not only should we not expect Microsoft to deny Sony access to Call of Duty post-merger, the acquisition will likely expand access to Call of Duty. Multi-game subscription services are an increasingly popular way to access game titles. Both Microsoft and Sony, as well as others, offer subscription services. In general, popular or newer titles tend not to be accessible through these services. However, Microsoft currently makes some Minecraft titles available on its Xbox Game Pass (XGP) subscription service and plans to add Activision titles post-merger. Adding Activision titles, including Call of Duty, to XGP effectively makes Call of Duty available at a lower price and thereby allows more players to access Call of Duty.
The CMA has erred in its analysis of Microsoft's incentives to foreclose Sony post-merger. Microsoft's past acquisition conduct demonstrates that Call of Duty is likely to remain available on PlayStation and other devices. The CMA can, and should, change course during its phase two investigation and clear this competitively benign acquisition.
Hope people stop using this. It means nothing.Didn't they get publisher of the year just last year?

Where are you even finding numbers for how many Monthly Active Users (MAUs) Call of Duty has? From everything I have seen we only have MAUs for Activision as a whole, Blizzard as a whole, and King as a whole. Since they don't break it out by franchise these numbers would include every online-enabled game (which even includes Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC even though the game has no online features).
It's possible I'm misreading something, but I haven't seen anything that shows the numbers for Call of Duty specifically.
My point was if users had jumped 10 times it would have to be seriously low to not over take PS.
Failure?Sega? Dafuq any of this have to do with Sega?
