Microsoft E3 conference: June 4th 10:00 AM PDT

Let's see. 3DS was an epic disaster, which to Nintendo's credit they recognized fairly quickly and took steps to correct. And a bunch of games of interest only to nintendo fans except Epic Mickey which had a bit of cachet. The last game announcement of any consequence was FFXIII to 360, and that only had meaning as a defining endpoint to PS 3rd party exclusivity. Everyone seems to have this silly notion that individual games matter for the big three. Overall portfolio and hardware matters. Services matter even more.
Well for Nintendo they kind of do. Which is what they've focused on for the past 2 E3s for Wii and 3DS

That's my birthday! Woo.

GIVE ME ALL YOUR PRESENTS SONY AND MS.

Stealth Edit: Hard as fuck to give a damn about E3 anymore though. Guess Wii U stuff could be cool.

Are people expecting anything big to happen? I don't expect any big 3rd party exclusives and whatever 1st party stuff they have is better off waiting till next year with a possible launch of a new console. I expect to see the big 3rd party games shown, Halo, Forza, Fable and new apps.

I think its gonna go like this:

-Price drop.
-Halo 4 campaign showcase.
-Sales blabber .
-1st party titles coming this year (Forza Horizon, Fable etc).
-Partnerships stuff.
-Kinect games showcase
-3rd party titles (Blops, Creed 3)
-Surprise 3rd party exclusive (L4D 3?)
-Summation of titles coming this year and mission statement
-"One last thing" Durango/720 tease.

Sadly i don't see those two happening. They never mentioned Witcher 2, which should've been a given.

Durango tease to be real-time Alan Wake 2 trailer.

I wish. Not this year, i think.

If Microsoft doesn't show a new Xbox it will be very forgettable. We will probably see the paint by numbers show we've seen from them in recent years. A Call of Duty demo, Halo, Fable, Forza, Kinect and an official price drop of both Kinect ($99) and the hardware. All bloated with 3rd party showings to deflect how little Microsoft actually invests in new IP's and studio expansion.

Nintendo is who I am most interested in this year. It will either be go big or go home. For Sony I don't care about Vita and i don't expect a PS4 announcement either. Hopefully we get a confirmed Last Guardian date.

Any rumors of a 360 Slimmer? That would be cool.

Actually yeah. I think some Japanese company designed it, added a screen to the controller, and will be announcing it the day after the MS conference. To cut down on size they had to remove stuff like hard drives, third party support, and good online.

Why would Microsoft have mentioned the late down port of The Witcher 2 at E3? It wasn't going to be the new hotness. The game was already old news, a known quantity, to the enthusiasts following E3.

The Final Fantasy XIII port announcement made sense to mention during the conference since the PS3 version of the game didn't come out yet. It was an exciting win for MS. The Witcher 2 was just late scraps. Not that The Witcher 2 scraps are anything to sneeze at.
