This is a really stupid way to say Windows multitasks:

Best part of these announcements will definitely be price pressure on used SP2s/SP3s. The 4 looks fairly incremental, the Surface Book looks insane in the best way but I can't justify spending $1500+ on a laptop.

This and with Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals to come i'll swoop in for a SP3.

Wish the new band was $199.

Going to head to a Windows Store after they come out to see what size I'd be. I'm wearing a first gen Large, but at the smallest clasp size, and even then it's loose sometimes. I'll still probably end up upgrading though, mostly because I like my current band but it is falling apart after only 3/4 a year with it.

You know what I just realized, as much as Pen Storage was laughed at, does the iPad Pro have somewhere to keep it's Pencil without an eraser?

Will probably get the SP4 with the i5/128GB/4GB. Don't need it to be my main computer since I have MacBook Pro with an i5/256GB/8GB from a year ago.

Will use this as my main Windows computer and it will replace my iPad as my tablet of choice.

As a digital artist, can I just say how fucking thankful I am for the return to 1024 pressure levels from measly 256 in the SP3? That's seriously half of why I'm excited for this thing.

4GB is really low amount of ram for windows, just saying. I wish they wouldn't even offer that. 8GB is pretty standard and is the sweet spot.

Holy shit at those prices. I take back what I said about this killing iPad Pro. On average it's double the price!

I'm gonna have to think hard about whether mobile Photoshop is worth $800 to me. :/

Went with a ~$1500 SP4 along with the keyboard cover. i5 + 16 GB RAM but lower on the disk space. Not worried about storage as I have plenty of external drives if I need something that's not already hosted on my home network.

1GB of DRAM for the GPU doesn't seem that exciting.
The 980m has up to 4gb of DRAM.

Hmm, not sure. We'll need benchmarks first.

With that being said, speccing out a similarly priced SP4 looks mighty tempting, unless you really really want that GPU or the Keyboard.

I mean i7, 256GB, 8GB RAM SP4 is $100 less than the SB with an i5.$300 les than the dGPU version.

However, if you were someone who really used CAD or editing software a lot on the go, $300 is not a lot to pay for the convenience.

The surface pro 3 and 4 are cheaper than the iPad pro with their i3 models. Photoshop works fine with them, no fan or anything.

Come to think about it, GPU being in the keyboard could mean the GPU being updated as time goes along, upgrading the specs without tossing the whole system. Hmm.

So this G4 chipset is replacing the intle i5-i7 like the surace before? Was looking at the surface book but looks like I should be fine with the pro 4? Any word on what this new chipset can do from Microsoft?

The G5 chipset is controlling the light based touchscreeen I believe. It's still using Intel Core i*.

Man the $2700 is ridiculous. If they made the top of the line one $1999 I could see it happening but the price is outrageous. You can't say starting at $1500 then effectively double the price...

So I'm assuming this will bring down the prices of the S3/SP3, which would be nice since I will be needing a new laptop soon and am on a serious budget. Is there any reason to get a SP3 over a Surface 3 if all I'm going to use it for is internet, email, Office, homework, youtube etc?

GPU doesn't matter to me on a device like this. Especially if it only has 1 GB GDDR5.

Yeah that's kind of how I'm feeling. If it can truly run Gears at Xbox One quality maybe.
But anything less than that seems like I'm not getting my money's worth.

If you don't mind the device having a smaller screen and / or a slightly less beefy keyboard, then the SP4 is still cheaper specs wise.

I personally don't even care about getting the most powerful one. I highly doubt many business and enterprise customers care either. They can say starting at 70k just like Tesla or anyone else. By the time you get the battery upgrade for the Model S, it's well over 100k.

Not really. The SP3 gives you the "full desktop" feature. If you don't need that, stick to a S3. You can get one for about $490 from amazon. I would probably wait though, they still might drop some more.
