I know some people here are saying that Gamepass price increase is inevitable, probably prior to the release of the next Call of Duty game (assuming the ABK acquisition goes through). But I actually think the next change in Gamepass will take a different form than a simple increase of the current $15 a month for GPU. Rather, I think Microsoft will change the length of Gamepass subscription options for customers, by eliminating the 1 month option, and only offering 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year options for GPU.
The reason is that I think gaming, more specifically console gaming, is a rather different medium for consuming entertainment than tv shows/movies, and I think Microsoft is very much worried about the potential for plenty of gamers to just subscribe to GPU for 1 month around November/December each year to enjoy COD + other big AAA titles and dip back out of their service once the 1 month is up. So I think the next changes to Gamepass will be what I just described, along with the elimination to the $1 Gold conversion 'loophole', though I think most of us here probably agree that loophole is going to be gone sooner or later.
And for those who disagree with me on this, I would just ask where is the 1 year for $60 option for Xbox gamers to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold membership? That used to be there as an option for Xbox gamers, and I definitely don't see that option there anymore, just 1 month and 3 months options only available when trying to buy Gold membership subscription on the Xbox console and on the Xbox website.
