And here I thought Phil was on our side and only wanted everyone to have fun together.
Next price hike
Not even that long in many cases. As a PC player mainly, key resellers and Game Pass are getting even more attractive. Also, with the sales on Steam and other resellers, no one have to pay the full price if you're willing to wait two or three months.
And for 120$ you could’ve probably owned every single game released on GP in 22 that is worth its weight. Congrats, you played yourself.

True. I often ordered via GMG where they offered 20-25% discounts for pre-orders. Haven't pre-ordered anything for a while now so I don't know if they still do that.On PC you can always find a sale price, day one.
You're missing one zero, Howard Ratner.
I rather be stupid and enjoy around 35 very good GP games that I have completed this year and at least 10 more that are ongoing experiences than be on every xbox tread and act like a triggered dick. You are out of your mind. I just looked over 22’s gamepass additions, and if you think you need 1200$ to play the good ones then you are just stupid.

You said 120 bucks worth of good stuff. I said there is so much more. If you are narrow-minded and think GP this year released 120$ worth of games then it is a You problem, because it is clearly not the true. I know you feel threatened by the fact that GP has great value, but you don't use it so stop telling people what it is worth. You haven’t countered my argument at all so stay stupid.

You're right. Ms deserves some shit but it's a bit hypocritical from those that have defended Sony in any way over the last few years.
Deserved shit. Just like this to an extent but also hypocritical and funny coming from certain posters on here.
Don't forget to thank MS!Thank you Sony, EA, Ubisoft...
There have been +/- 200 games added to GP just this year. If you only found 2-3 worth their weight then your taste is just really narrow. And for 120$ you could’ve probably owned every single game released on GP in 22 that is worth its weight.
The amount of bs some of you try to feed people online is insane.
Well MS did increase the games from $50 to $60 when they launched the 360. Now they are tied.Expected i guess, Goddamn with Sony for starting this.
You can be as tired of it as you want, but it displays a lack of perspective on your part that it has to be said.I’m so tired of seeing this kind of response to this. These companies are already making billions, it’s not like they need to charge the extra. If they can justify it, let us see the figures.
When these companies are struggling and aren’t selling millions of games a year, I’m down for inflation being a valid justification.
I guess you only see hypocrisy one way. That's convenient.
I've not defended MS here in any way outside of I understand the inflation thing, but it's still. Bullshit.
I used to get aunt Bessie's jam roll poly for £1 it's now £2.50 in the UK! Fucking insanity I tell you.
My point I was attempting to make but poorly is that the back and forth seems to be driven by posters who are happy to pay £70 for games. MS prepped everyone for price increases and they've followed through.
I'm not gonna pay the 70 squid, nothing ironic or hypocritical from me. I still refuse to pay 70 for a game.
All I said is luckily I have game pass which means I avoid these costs and can still play day one MS games then pick them up later if I desire.
Is there anything else hypocritical I've said?
Even if that should occur... you do realize there still won't be a better gaming value anywhere. How much is it going to raise to where it won't still be a better deal than anything else on offer?
Game Pass is possibly on track to generate over $4 billion or close to it just this year alone. It will be fine.
That's great.
I'll still buy them after a few months when they're all patched up, complete, and for like half the price.
AAA companies are making it extremely easy to buy indies instead of their overpriced crap.
The war just one of many factors driving inflation, the fact that prices are up is the very definition of inflation.Thats the war not inflation
You're a forum dweller. Done.you can laugh but its true. Go ahead and post the receipts.
Oh, the F'in irony. Not every game maker, no. Sony wasnt the first but they literally didnt need to at the time. Anyway keep moving the goal posts.
If you have GP it's automatically on sale for $56. Best of both worlds.Just get the game on Gamepass or wait for the game is on sale. No biggie here.
And here I thought Phil was on our side and only wanted everyone to have fun together.
That is what it comes down to basically. It highly depends on someone's gaming habits. If someone is only interested in two of those games and likes to own, they are looking at $150 vs $180.So if you want to buy these 2023 exclusives you have to spend $420 but if you just want to play them you need $180, that is if you are paying $15/month
Redfall
Starfield
Forza Motorsport
Diablo 4
Hellblade 2
Avowed
Nah. They are prepping for the AB multiplatform future. What's the point when their still doing day one on game pass?
Yeah, it's the few people who care about game ownership, but Phil has been training Xbox fans to just wait for games to drop on gamepass this whole gen, so why would people drop $70 on Ms titles when they can play it on gamepass?
This is looking like MS played themselves.
Microsoft isn't abandoning game sales and they are still part of the gaming business as a publisher. This wasn't an EA, Ubisoft, Sony thing. This has been an industry thing. Microsoft is just now officially recognizing the price increase. They were also late to do so when we went from $49.99 to $59.99 — back then, the promise was, all MS first party games would be $49.99 but it didn't last long. What's the point when their still doing day one on game pass?

It always was and it's in the best interests of the industry.I guess now that everyone has made it standard this was imminent.
Yep, always was. Redfall isn't 30% more technically demanding than Deathloop. Just BS. I've always said it's BS.Just once it would be nice to get some transparency around the decision making. It is for greed, plain and simple.
Its disappointing that MS is continuing the lie that this is to compensate for the vast improvements in next-gen games. It's truly embarrassing that they think flicking the switch for 4k/60fps is worth a 30% price hike. Not to mention that the highest spec games have always been the cheapest historically speaking, they are called PC games.
I'm sure that Series Forza will be like an entirely different game to the Xone version. I'm sure there will be a boatload of new features, mechanics, expanded gameplay etc.......I'm sure..............(I tried being more sarcastic but it physically hurt)
Seriously curious as to when lying for monetary gain, stop being labelled fraud.
You forgot the console versions of Age of Empires II and Age of Empires IV. Next year looks to be great. Not sure about Avowed though, as AAA open world RPGs take a while to develop. So if you want to buy these 2023 exclusives you have to spend $420 but if you just want to play them you need $180, that is if you are paying $15/month

No one pays 70 dollars for Halo Infinite or Microsoft Flying Simulator. But I bet many people will buy Starfield for 70 dollars.Kinda surprised they didnt jump on it earlier.
It only gives makes Gamepass looks better for them
Nah, they weren't charging $70 before now because they're just now releasing their first first-party game after 3 years
