Microsoft Rewards: option to exchange points for Xbox Game Pass removed (up: back, post #198)

RIP Xbox's attempt to garner good will: 2018-2023.

Price increases on hardware, software & services. Programmes like backwards compatibility and FPS boost ended. Game Pass Ultimate 1:1 conversion ended, and to be completely removed when Game Pass Core launches. And now this.

In my opinion, Microsoft haven't done anything to justify any of this behaviour.

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you

they're slowly closing the 'loopholes' as they turn towards profit generation over increasing subscribership

all the people on here who talked about how GPU was the best deal in gaming because they got it free from Rewards will now have to pay

Ive had mine set to auto convert to $10 gift card every month and my Gamepass renewal just takes that plus a bit extra from my card on file every month. I never really took advantage of all the crazy conversion deals and stuff.

It's all part of the cycle. If a company is down, they start playing the try and build good will marketing angle...once they start feeling confident that success is assured, they start to get arrogant. Feels like with Activision deal going through, they're feeling even more confident in their place in the industry.

Things like this are why I never feel bad about abusing VPNs to save money on Gamepass, they will look to rip off their customers the moment they get any leeway or forward momentum in the markets.

Didn't know you could set up auto-convert. That's probably what I'll do.

I mean they are buying Activision. Phil needs his pocket money now.

People criticized them endlessly for all subs just being $1 and then of course instantly do a 180 to keep criticizing.
Price hikes, removal of options etc aren't good news.
I don't think people criticised the $1 from a consumer perspective - it was more from a position of trying to understand the revenue model and profit associated with GamePass.

If it is a glitch then it has been over a week and they haven't fixed it.

With Xbox Live Gold is still up I'm trying to give them the benefit of doubt. If it doesn't return, I guess MS is done with the handouts getting people to subscribe. I have no idea if that is a good or bad sign for Game Pass.
