Hello PlayStation fans!

At long last am I able to share new and exciting details about Mighty No. 9, as Deep Silver announces a partnership with comcept and legendary designer Keiji Inafune to increase the reach and scope of this incredible, beloved title. Deep Silver will bring the title to retail this fall, with even more content for new and established fans around the world.

Mighty No. 9 is truly a transformative experience for the 2D side-scrolling action genre, with deep roots in gaming spanning generations of gamers. Taking into account decades of design experience as well as tens of thousands of pieces of feedback from the Kickstarter backers (thank you!), comcept and Inti Creates have put together all of the best elements of 8 and 16-bit classics that you love, and infused them with fresh mechanics to reinvigorate the genre.

With today’s announcement, we’re pleased to tell you that the game will release physically on PlayStation 4 as well as digitally on all three PlayStation platforms: PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 will launch simultaneously on September 15, 2015, with the PS Vita version coming shortly after.

It's getting a lot of hate here but I still think it has potential to be very good, the gameplay in particular seems fast and smooth.

Does this mean that the game is still coming out before June or just that retail versions of the game on PlayStation platform are coming out in the Fall?

I was looking forward to playing this next month....but if it needs more time, I understand :).

Can't wait to play this, as I love both the Mega Man and Mega Man X series :D.

Looking at the Kickstarter page, it doesn't seem to specify the physical release is for Playstation platforms only, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Xbox and Wii U versions got physical editions as well

Also, nice to finally see a more concrete time frame

I just got this as a backer...

Big news, Mighties,

OK Beckers -- we’ve been working on something big for awhile now, and finally, today, we can let the cat out of the bag (this news will be everywhere soon, but we’re telling you first!): Comcept is teaming up with publisher Deep Silver to release Mighty No. 9 this September!!

Why are we so excited about this? Why should you even care?? Wait, is that a DELAY on the release date?!??11

First of all, yes, it is a delay from our original Spring estimate (which, from reading the comments lately, might not come as a surprise to many of you, given we’re in late April already...) But before you despair, please, hear us out first! The reason for the delay, and the reason we are so excited about this new partnership in the first place, is all the cool stuff it will allow us to add to the game (content that all Backers will get absolutely FREE): Added Japanese (yes!) and French voiceovers (in addition to English), FREE for all backers! Extra subtitle languages (Spanish! French! Italian! German! Russian! Polish! Brazilian Portuguese!) FREE for all backers! And best of all: the entire Ray DLC set -- an entire extra level and boss (and playable character) -- FREE for ALL backers!

And that’s just the big bullet points -- this deal also allows us more time and resources for testing, polish, and the creation of physical retail versions (on some systems), and -- very importantly -- won’t affect absolutely any of our Kickstarter plans or rewards. In short, it will make for an even Mightier No. 9, for backers, for us, and for all our fans, worldwide!

We know this is a lot to take in all at once, and we know anytime a Kickstarter ends up with an outside partner some people will be skeptical, so we’ve prepared a short FAQ that goes into a bit more detail about the hows and whys. See if it answers any questions or concerns you have, and if it doesn’t, let us know!

Too much info for ya? Here’s just the need-to-know stuff in handy infographic form:

So delayed but free DLC for backers and getting a retail release.

Is the physical release simultaneous with the digital release or is it one of those "months later" physical releases of digital games?

So I guess physical release for PS4 confirms that the game will not be cross-buy.

Blegh. Would MUCH rather have cross-buy.

Boourns at no physical release for Vita. Oh well.

Deep Silver probably never published a retail Vita game ever (or possibly no Vita game at all). But maybe they can be convinced?

I backed for the physical release of the game... was that just for PC? Can I get it on Wii U now?

Edit: I guess I just backed 'getting a box' and not a physical release:

PHYSICAL GAME BOX, PRINTED RETRO-STYLE GAME MANUAL & EXCLUSIVE IN-GAME GOLDEN HERO

A classic-style game box (Western- or Japanese-style, your choice), a printed version of the instruction manual (English or Japanese, your choice), and a special Backer-only golden color variation for the game's hero, Beck! Includes all previous rewards. (Check the reward section of the page for more details.)

Hopefully that gets ammended and they let me pick physical Wii U version? :/

Also, it seems that Wii U version, Xbox One version and PC/Mac/Linux version also get a physical release.
Same release date too. Maybe it would be good to update thread title !

Hope its good. Honestly though I suspect my September budget won't have room for this. July would have had my money.

Is this really such a difficult puzzle that you can't solve it? In July take a $20 bill and go pre order it at gamestop. Or if you dont want physical, buy a psn card and hide it in your glove box until September.

They sent out the PR for the WiiU version as well. Same dates and 3DS also later, like Vita. Seems the handheld versions are the ones belated here.

Damn PS4 physical won me over getting it on a Nintendo system... That could change if they make a Wii U physical version though
yeah right... : (

WiiU also gets a physical release.

Kickstarted at the
$99
level, have been playing the beta for a while now

may double dip on PS4 physical

Hmmm, well I am not expecting it to be that good without the actual people who made MM games fun and created those level designs and memorable bosses. Impressions haven't been good either.

I'm actually not that surprised it got this far though, the hate for Capcom basically funded this game. I'm hoping

Hoping
Possibly
That they changed a few things with the game by release and it will be much more interesting a game.
