Well there are opinions that are backing off from this game, and some like yours so it's all just opinions at the end of the day.

However they clearly didn't need the "extra money" for some of the features, such as voice acting considering their kickstarter funds.

Yeah it's not like they attributed all the extra KS funding to stretch goals or anything......wait a minute they did it's almost like you are ignoring that a making shit up but that couldn't be right? No clearly Inafune is only lining his pocket with that extra money and not actually putting it toward the development on additional levels, a coop mode, a new character and levels for her.

Not sure why you made the title so sony specific...

Anyways, Very upset about this all. hate getting a game digital with retail is an optional. Might try to sell my digital copy at cost now and try to nab a retail version.

Overall hate that they decided now after this is all done to get a publisher (one that doesn't fit at that) and then delay the game.

Yep like how you took one thing I mentioned (voice acting) and then added some other thing I didn't say to blow this up to a big deal.

And again game quality is an opinion, see some of the posts above this one. I'd suggest waiting till around E3 for more solid game info.

BTW, if a mod could put Xbox One and PC in the thread title since apparently they are also releasing at the same time if I'm reading the link correctly.

I can't remember if I already had to specify a Console or not, if I had I am sure I put down Vita (as when the kickstarter was going on that was all I had).

Either way, I am getting the PS4 version day 1. That is a no brainer now that the Vita version is delayed (still want that as well) I wonder if the DLC will be cross buy for PS4/PSVita...

I guess Deep Silver came to them with a truck of money? or was this the team looking for a publisher to help with a physical release?

Hopefully it leads to a Mighty No. 10 or something.

I'm happy to hear this as a backer but annoyed that getting a physical copy may be unnecessarily difficult.

Not sure why you're leaving the Wii U out here but I agree with your point otherwise.

You were saying they had plenty of money from the KS while ignoring all that extra funding had already been earmarked to additional development. Sorry I had to add new information that shows that your statement was incorrect but I am tired of people shitting on the game because they tried to raise additional funds for VO. I would rather them do that then take money away from the stretch goals that are a lot more interesting then some voices for everyone.

As a backer, I'm glad they got a publisher that can help them flesh out the game better. Also, judging from the comments in threads showing gameplay, the game could use some polish to sell people on it. Hopefully by the time September comes around the game will look and feel a bit more substantial.

Is this really such a difficult puzzle that you can't solve it? In July take a $20 bill and go pre order it at gamestop. Or if you dont want physical, buy a psn card and hide it in your glove box until September.

It's not about money its about time. Once September rolls around there will be so many better games taking my time. July is still open though.

Actually i only talked about voice acting and your inflating the issue. So clam down.

Kinda stoked to see it's also getting French voiceovers.

The team doing the handheld port is Abstraction Games. They've been good on Vita, so while the port being delayed sucks, I'm confident it'll be solid. I'd much rather they dump UE3 anyway, since it's not a great engine on Vita
and doesn't even run on 3DS.

Oh, that's good news. Maybe I shouldn't dismiss the Vita version so quick.

Anyone know if this physical release will replace the $60 tier retro-style physical box reward? I kind of want both, but I'm not sure how to find this out. Poked around the kickstarter and comments section, but didn't see anything. This is the only thing I've ever funded on kickstarter so I'm unfamiliar with the platform (pledged back in 2013).

Deep Silver has published two Vita retail games ... exclusively in Spain (Tadeo Jones). I don't think they have much to stand on here.

Ah so Abstraction is on the Vita version? They seem to be a handy-dandy port team, already having done ports like Awesomenauts for Ronimo Games and RIVE for Two Tribes.

For 3DS, I remember Jools (from Renegade Kid) wanting to do it, but I can easily see Inti Creates doing a 2D version on Gunvolt's engine. Or 2.5D ala Gon 3DS and Ghostly Adventures 1 3DS.

Different versions, the retailer version is done by deep silver, the kickstarter version is done by Fangamer, I guess the only thing that will be different is the cover.

Sounding like this will be cross-save and possibly even cross-buy. according to the Deep Silver rep doing Q&A in the comments section.

This pleases me

I am perfectly calm I just don't think you should go around saying they got all this extra money that they weren't using. They gave clear uses for all additional funds raised and VO was not one of them. So stop with trying to say they have all this extra money lying around.

There is no preorder bonus or anything so you may as well just wait to buy it. There are some youtube videos of the demo if you want to check those out. They give a pretty decent rundown of the basic systems.

It's great that we can toggle between Japanese/English audio and text, but that is seriously shady economics going on behind that if true.

Huh? What do you mean?

Abstraction is handling both Vita and 3DS for Mighty No. 9.

And again you are now adding even more hyperbole to this issue, All i said is the money for voice acting was most likely in the Kickstarter. Considering the type of game it is, that's not really far from believable. It's all opinion, I never said anything about "all this money on the table" that you keep implying every quote.

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.
Had no idea this "Ray" DLC even existed, and that she(?) is going to be another playable character besides Beck and Call. Very intriguing!

Physical release HYPE.

I've only skimmed the thread... there's no 'voucher in a box' nonsense going here is there?

And I am saying this is categorically wrong. They did not mention VO anywhere in any of the stretch goals. The money to fund VO came after the end of the KS.

Really? I can't see this going well for the 3DS version, unless they completely rebuild the game from the ground-up.

That's actually what they are doing.

I don't even remember what rewards I'm supposed to get. Pretty sure I was gonna get a "physical" steam version though. I may get a physical xb one/ps4/WiiU; maybe I'd buy the least popular version among those three.

Thanks for the answer, mate. Is the Fangamer one just a box with a code in it, while the Deep Silver one is an actual PS4/XBO disc?

I kind of rather have a real disc. If that's the case, is it too early to cancel a backing?

Why are only PlayStation versions mentioned on this forum when the press release covered all versions?

As you can see from the OP, the post came from the PS Blog, where the news first publicly appeared, and not the press release.

I'm sure a mod will edit it soon enough.

Glad it is finally coming. Will wait until the Vita version and play the hell out of this game.

Abstraction? That's great. They are also behind Titan Souls on Vita, which look and run beautifully on the handheld.

Ok, so I backed the boxed PC release through kickstarter. Does this now mean that I can change that to a boxed release for a console instead? If not, that's kind of BS.

Nope being handled by a different company. Fangamer release and Deep Silver release are completely separate.

I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic towards this game. As a backer, it's great to see I'll be getting the DLC for free.

I'm not concerned about the delay. They rarely bother me in general. Sometimes things just need more time, and I'd rather they took as long as they need to get it right, rather than force it out when they know there's still work to be done.

In any case, this game is certainly going to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year, as it seems that if it isn't a massive success, it will be treated as a huge failure.

I think you are mixing things here, there is one thing called physical box on the reward tier, that is only a box with no game, you will get the box in the mail and the code to download the game in your email (from the $20 tier) and then there is another thing outside the reward tier, a complete physical version for pc/mac with a disc. This version is done by fangamer not deep silver, the game will be the same but the external design will be different (yet to be seen).
