This still doesn't excuse shit graphics on new games. You can have both great gameplay and great graphics, why do you guys think it's one or the other. One thing most of you guys seems dont understand, FROM has to build the game from ground up, building everything from the combat to level design and how each enemy/boss behave.
Bluepoints in other hand design for shit, they just make graphics and they just put all resources for graphics because they dont have to worry about designing the actual game.
Then again majority of GAF are graphic whores, graphics has bigger value over everything else here.
Sekiro and Bloodborne have exceptional graphics and animations. This still doesn't excuse shit graphics on new games. You can have both great gameplay and great graphics, why do you guys think it's one or the other.
Bloodborne is a slide show that gave me a headache I couldn't shake for a day. It's literally 24fps. Turn the camera and your stomach turns.Sekiro and Bloodborne have exceptional graphics and animations.
That's performance not graphics. It runs at 30 fps with framepacing issues. Not 24fps. Such hyperbole.Bloodborne is a slide show that gave me a headache I couldn't shake for a day. It's literally 24fps. Turn the camera and your stomach turns.

Looking at this video and I wish other action games looked at good as Sekiro and Bloodborne:
Why? Because I can contextualise historically game releases. Bloodborne was a graphical benchmark when it was released.Do you actually own a PS5? I assume so as we have argued before about the elderly grandmother from Returnal. How can you say after playing DS remake at a rock steady 60fps with beautifully detailed high res models and anims that Bloodbourne is graphically good?. It may be 30fps with no enemies on screen when you are doing nothing, but is soon drops when gameplay starts.
Performance and Visuals are two sides of the same coin, hence why most new games have a performance/ fidelity graphics mode that balances both based on the players graphical choice. They cannot be separated.
Between returnal and bloodborne you have really strange graphical taste my dude. Why? Because I can contextualise historically game releases. Bloodborne was a graphical benchmark when it was released.
Classy hit on Returnal's character by the way. Again, I hope your mother doesn't read your messages.
Also love the "Do you actually own"? Classy, mate. Lovely, stuff.
You fucking what ?! That's such an overblown statementBloodborne is a slide show that gave me a headache I couldn't shake for a day. It's literally 24fps. Turn the camera and your stomach turns.
Nice. It's not just me but all the internet tech geeks that people here use as priests saying that Returnal is a tech breakthrough and one of the years best looking games. I'm very sorry if you all have a shit taste and can't see good graphics even if they bite you in the ass. No other game on the PS4 looked as good as Bloodborne when it was released. You're all tacky as shit.Between returnal and bloodborne you have really strange graphical taste my dude.
Bloodborne was at best a benchmark in art design, never in graphic, killzone4 and inf3, 2 launch titles both looks a gen over bloodborne, not to talk about the shitty performances, the aliasing and the CA.
And now we know why for some people vrr would be useless, i mean it is hard not to notice bb shitty performances, but even saying least laggy 30 fps game is downright comedy tbh...You fucking what ?! That's such an overblown statement
Bloodborne is the least laggy 30fps game I've played.
It looks great at that too and even the motion blur is well tuned.
I never noticed much stuttering/frame pacing issues. I know it exists but it's way overblown.
Then i'm glad i'm tacky whatever it means, at least i'm not blindNice. Oh it's there alright. It's not... THAT bad, the game is perfectly playable. See it was a launch PS4 game and people were used to horrible performance on the PS3 so people generally didn't notice. You fucking what ?! That's such an overblown statement

Not trying to be a jackass dude, just different people having wildly different sensibility to uneven framerate...
It was not a launch title and launch titles on ps4 had much better perfomances tho.Oh it's there alright. It's not... THAT bad, the game is perfectly playable. See it was a launch PS4 game and people were used to horrible performance on the PS3 so people generally didn't notice.
They do now.
I love bloodborne all the same but I'd kill for a PC version.
Like i said, different sensibility dude, people played dragon dogma on ps3 without a problem, no need to say more than that.it's not comedy.
Play Demons Souls with 30fps lock and then go directly play BB. BB feels way sharper/less laggy.
It is a fact. They sacrificed vsync for faster response.
I was one of the fist vrr adopter. I am an ass about that. But Bloodborne problems are just overblown
Yeaaaaah, my time with it I never noticed anything remotely close to THAT severity. Just sounds like a personal problem/preference, and that's fine, haha. You fucking what ?! That's such an overblown statement

100%, and same. I still refuse to believe it isn't coming to PS5/PC as a remaster or something at some point. On PC they've ported Days Gone, Horizon, God of War, and the Uncharted trilogy. I can't help but feel like it's tailing behind. I mean, they'd be doing themselves a gigantic disservice if it never happened.Oh it's there alright. It's not... It's gonna come sooner or later if sony really possess the brand.Yeaaaaah, my time with it I never noticed anything remotely close to THAT severity. Just sounds like a personal problem/preference, and that's fine, haha.

Ok close to launch then, I'm going on memory and perhaps it was a European launch game or something. Not really sure what we're arguing about here but I agree the performance isn't perfect and certainly not by todays standards but its an excellent looking game all the same and absolutely a generation step ahead of the dark souls games at the time.It was not a launch title and launch titles on ps4 had much better perfomances tho.
Exactly! Sony buying Nixxes said 1000 words. It's gonna come sooner or later if sony really possess the brand.
There is zero reason to not do that and bb on pc is gonna sell easily 1 mil of copies, EASILY, sony even bought nixxes for pc ports.
The second I logged into the world of Elden Ring, the first thing that crossed my mind was "I wish it had the graphical fidelity Demons soul". Demons Soul Remake completely ruined the soul series for me. I was soo captivated by demons soul Graphics and gameplay I went and purchase the Dark Souls series and bloodborne only to find out they are the same game with terrible performance and graphical fidelity. I stopped playing dark souls halfway through and bloodborne was literally a slide show. I simply could not get immersed in them like Demons Soul. I really hope sony makes a sequel to Demons souls.not for one second playing a Fromsoft game did I think 'wow I wish these graphics were better'.
Is there a performance patch? I played it for maybe an hour years ago and got motion sick and haven't touched it since. Digital Foundry had several videos detailing it's problems too, iirc it ran at a more or less constant 30fps but had an always uneven frame pacing causing motion to never look smooth.it's not comedy.

Squeenix is a great advert against Japanese devs trying to push the graphics on their proprietary engines lmaoAs a certified graphics whore myself, I'm glad that Demon Souls Remake pressured FromSoft to improve the graphics on Elden Ring.
Many Japanese devs (almost all except Square Enix?) do tend to get behind in graphical fidelity a bit too much IMO.
I disagree. The team behind Luminous Productions was responsible for one of the best looking gen-8 games, and Forspoken can look really good at times.Squeenix is a great advert against Japanese devs trying to push the graphics on their proprietary engines lmao

Stop living in the past. I like them a lot but times have changed and they are going to need a locked 60 fps and acceptable graphics to be relevant going forward with new consoles out.Never thought I would see the day when GAF would randomly shit on the best current game developers and the saviours of this fucking industry.
What does GAF doesn't shit on, anyway.

Say that to the millenials who do the art and got criticized. So in the end, we all win.
Say that to the millenials who do the art and got criticized.
At least with a union they could produce something like this and tell the art director that they will have to accept it as excellent work:

No pressure.
I'm not talking about how the games looked, I'm talking about the development hell they went through in part because of their enginesI disagree. The team behind Luminous Productions was responsible for one of the best looking gen-8 games, and Forspoken can look really good at times.
