Check the Free Agents, should be there.ilikeme said:Never played a baseball video game before. Now I have for a few hours and it's great so far, making me actually appreciate the sport more. I live in Sweden so I don't really get to experience it live :s
But one thing bugs me, probably because I'm retarded. I created a player (great fun customizing the guy but it took for ever) and I don't know where he is now. Where do players go after you create them?
I cheched the manual but no luck. Please help, he was such a cool guy! =( I thought I'd play with him in Road to the Show, but I have to create a new player, or so it says =(

I had 07 skipped 08 and so it's not the first time I play "The Show" I am playing on rookie with all the sliders in my favor and I cannot win a game to save my life. I have lost 4 straight games in my season, is their something I am missing why is this game so hard?

I'm using the Indians and I'm a few months into franchise mode.
So I play my away series at Tampa Bay. First two games are in Tropicana Field (what a dump), then it puts us into this small minor league outdoor stadium (yet the attendance is 33k!?).
Is there some time this year when Tampa intends on playing a few outdoor games at another park inthe area or is this is just an odd glitch?

I'm finally enjoying RTTS as a SP now. Playing as a hitter is frustrating.
I tried LF, but I couldn't keep up with progression goals, stabilizing my training, and trying to build the type of player I wanted.
I hit well the first two games, but after that every hit went right to a fielder and my avg. dropped to .100. I simmed through a bunch of games trying to get ahead of the curve and finally was starting in the majors. Then I'm traded and playing bench in AA. I got no points and all my skills dropped, so I quit.
Is their a trick to getting points as a hitter?
Pitching seems a lot easier, though granted I'm only in the end of the first spring training.

Proc said:Going to buy this game tonight. May end up sacrificing killzone 2 for it (money is tight and the paid dlc is giving me bad vibes about how the online scene will turn out, of which I barely take part in as is). Motorstorm 2 is on sale, so i may end up grabbing that as well. PS3 weekend confirmed.
GodofWine said:I almost did the same thing...but I kept KZ2 to give it another month..then if it still pisses me off Im trading it for UFC...but I just got MLB, and its awesome, played a game online, 3 star connection and it was perfect...so that made me happy.
I also have MSPR, if you wanna add me for those games - PSN = Skigazzi for MLB and PSN = TheGodofWine on MS2 (had account issues, lost all data, made a new one...but still play MS2 and Warhawk with the old one online since my stats are saved remotely for those)

Baker said:So all in all, batting still makes absolutely no sense to me. It really seems like when the ball "looks" like it's going into the dirt, 50% of the time it goes in the dirt and 50% of time it's somehow right down the middle of the plate.

Baker said:Man, I put like 7 hours into this game on Saturday and I'm still only in June on Road to the Show.
I absolutely suck at hitting. The last baseball game I played seriously/for money was ASB 2001/2 (can't remember). I still have muscle memory to move the swing location from Down to wherever the ball goes, so I miss 99% of the pitches in this game because it locks you in. I changed the camera angle to Wide, and that helped with making contact somewhat. My dude is still barely in AA though and went on like an 8 game strikeout spree, hehe.
I was playing so bad, I pretty much got demoted to a pinch runner! There was an injury though, so I got to start a game and went 4 for 5 with three doubles, so that got me back into the line up for a bit.

Holy crap, congrats! I've thrown two 1-hitters... took a no-no into the 8th but that's as far as I've made it. I honestly feel like as I progress, I'm doing worse -- now I can't even seem to get shutouts despite the fact my guy is nearly maxed out on his pitches.jstevenson said:Threw my first no-hitter in RTTS... awesome.
Meier said:I added the knuckleballer based on recommendations here and it's a definite K pitch -- worth the addition. I'm disappointed that despite throwing 99-102, the majority of the hitters can still easily connect with the FB.

Thanks. I actually randomly figured those techniques last night and it's helped a lot. I make contact the majority of times now, but they're usually still outs.Zero Hero said:Here are some tips that helped me:
Always guess pitch a fast ball. That way if you don't get the signal, you'll know that a slower pitch is coming your way.
Almost never swing at the first pitch. Don't swing at the second pitch if the first was a ball. I always take a first strike. Work the count because it forces the pitcher to throw you more hittable balls.
Very early in your career, you just aren't that good. When you are 18, 19, 20 years old you are building up your character so expect to hit around .280 to low .300 and unless you dumped a big chunk of points into power, very little home runs.
Have fun and good luck.
