That feel when games end after midnight or close to 1 AM.
Angels need to take at least three games from Texas.
It was close to 2 for me.

at least give us some damn innings Hutch
at least give us some damn innings Hutch
yeah this isn't going to work
making a hungover meatball thrower pitch in the rain is a recipe for success
Tomorrow should be the last day the Jays rest the entire lineup due to the hangover. Going into the playoffs on a 5 game losing streak and cold doesn't seem like a great idea.
It is baseball. Unless injured, you shouldn't be resting. Never been a fan of this practice.
C'mon, Mets, wake up. You can't get swept by the damn Phillies.
Yeah, but it'd be nice to have homefield advantage. They'll be alright. Just start resting players. Prepare them for the Dodgers.
Come on guys have some damn pride, 93 wins is still doable that should be what we aim for...
They won't cancel. They have to try and get this game in because it could affect playoff home field advantage.
Maybe the Jays and Orioles can find the time to fly to Toronto to finish the game at the Rogers Center. They'd sell it out as a celebration game for Jays fans. .
So jerad eickhoff is the phillies best young pitcher?
Easily. Best stuff, best mechanics, most MLB ready.
Nola is a nice piece but he's a soft throwing control pitcher.
So jerad eickhoff is the phillies best young pitcher?
I know, it's pretty depressing. I blame myself for actually being positive about getting HFA.We really can't score three runs to get HFA? Man...
Cubs, I'm expecting you to do your part to make sure the 3 best records in baseball this year are in the NL Central.
Maybe it'll force MLB to do something about the way the playoffs are decided
doubt it
Surprising how much of these classic Jay games I still remember vividly. I know a lot of current fans weren't around or old enough to remember, but for me it doesn't seem that long ago.with the rain delay, Sportsnet is showing the '92 ALCS right now. So many feels.
C'mon, Mets, wake up. You can't get swept by the damn Phillies.
You're more excited for the game than I am. I want this season to be over.Is it wrong to be excited for tonight's ballgame? It'll all be over soon.
Oh really. It is nice to see the Phillies end the season well. I am so excited to see them next year.
Yeah uh.
Don't be. There'll be some nice young players sure, but you're gonna be really, really bad.
We will see but I doubt it. The NL East is terrible, Braves and Marlins are going to be really bad, I wouldnt be surprised if the Nats try to really shake things up after what a fucking trainwreck they were this year. Basically the Mets are the only team that will be good, hopefully the Phils can make some moves this offseason to compliment the good core of young players they now have.
ATLANTA -- After watching John Coppolella do most of the heavy lifting that encompassed the massive reconstruction process their organization has undergone over the past year, the Braves will reward him by naming him their general manager.
A formal announcement will be made during a Thursday afternoon news conference at Turner Field. Braves president of baseball operations John Hart will continue to oversee the department, but Coppolella will now have the title for the role he has essentially filled for the past year.
When the Braves dismissed Frank Wren as their GM on Sept. 21, 2014, they opted not to fill his position immediately. Hart was given his current title and the assignment to help mold Coppolella as he served as an assistant GM, performing many of the same duties as a GM.
Coppollella did much of the legwork to arrange the trades that sent Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, Evan Gattis and Craig Kimbrel elsewhere and the mega deal that brought Hector Olivera from the Dodgers to the Braves on July 30. As he manufactured those deals, which helped reshaped the farm system, compiled Draft picks and created financial flexibility, he worked hand-in-hand with Hart, who served as an accomplished advisor.
Along with providing guidance, Hart was the authoritative figure who provided final approval of those trades and harnessed the actions of the tireless and aggressive Coppolella, who has been a part of Atlanta's front office since leaving the Yankees at the conclusion of the 2006 season.
The Brewers and Mariners both expressed interest in Coppolella as they moved toward filling their GM vacancies earlier last month. But the Braves recognized Coppolella's value and made sure to keep him by providing him the same distinguished position with their organization.
Coppolella, 37, served as Atlanta's director of baseball operations from 2006-10 and then was promoted to director of professional scouting in 2011. The Notre Dame graduate was elevated to the assistant GM position near the conclusion of the 2012 season, when the Astros were recruiting him to fill the same role in Houston.
We will see but I doubt it. The NL East is terrible, Braves and Marlins are going to be really bad, I wouldnt be surprised if the Nats try to really shake things up after what a fucking trainwreck they were this year. Three years of sucking for six plus of being good is what needs to happen.
Like what the Mets are doing IF Wilpon let's Sandy have a little room with the check book this year...
What room? Cespedes will be asking for a lot of money.
A lot of money if you're the Royals maybe. For the Mets? A team that plays in New York City? Come on they should be able to afford $160M over five years.
Are we forgetting who's managing the team? Alderson is gonna implement Moneyball as long as he can to avoid paying top dollar salaries.
What room? Cespedes will be asking for a lot of money.
Do you think an organisation run by sabermetricians is gonna go nuts over Cespedes?
Sure they may have paid overs to get Grandy & Cuddy here, but that was "rebuilding team" tax and Wright was "ownership doesn't want an empty stadium" tax.
That said, Muffy and Bart are both coming off the books next season, so they could front load a contract with a good margin.
