ROTY rarely ever goes to a pitcher so i wouldn't choose Teheran to win. (although Kimbrel won this year). He probably won't be in the rotation the whole year anyway.
Did they really need to give him a full no trade?
seems like 6/100 for him is a pretty good deal so i assume a NTC was one of the reasons Zimmerman probably agreed to a discount. Anyway, i doubt the Nationals would have wanted to trade him anyway unless something disastrous happened. And if something happened that would make them want to trade him, i doubt other teams would want him.

Medlen and Vizcaino Boost Bullpen
Last season, the Braves received 119.2 innings out of the combination of Scott Linebrink (54.1), George Sherrill (36.0), and Scott Proctor (29.1). While Sherrill was actually reasonably effective as a left-handed specialist, the other two provided very little value during their Braves’ tenures. Proctor recorded a 6.06 FIP while Linebrink sported a 4.30 mark. Combined, the three totaled -0.5 fWAR.

The replacements for these three are expected to be Kris Medlen, Arodys Vizcaino, and a combination of Robert Fish, Anthony Varvaro, Cory Gearrin, Jairo Asencio, and potentially a few others. It should not be too difficult for these three positions to outperform the negative value provided by the three departed members of the bullpen.

Is Cozart still eligible? He is my sleeper if he is. If he can get on base he is going to score a ton of runs. Writers love runs.

In all honesty, I would prefer Vizcaino to go back to the minors and focus on being a starter; there are competent replacements for him in CMart and Jairo, and both of these are out of options. Not to mention Varvaro, Gearrin, and the like.
In a year, who knows how many of the current starters will be gone (Hudson back issues, JJ traded, Hanson getting expensive), and not entirely sold on Teheran yet. Not to mention the increased trade value of Vizcaino as a starter if he were to leave.

Zumaya done for the year with torn UCL.

Also, water it wet and the sky is blue.

Well, this is disappointing but unsurprising. I'm certainly glad the Twins stood pat while decent relievers were coming off the board for a million dollars. Looking forward to 50 inept innings from Alex Burnett this year!

yeah i would probably prefer that too, seems like a waste to put him in the bullpen.

My idea for the pen, in terms of most to least important I'd have, and assuming Moylan isn't ready.

Kimbrel, Venters, O'Flaherty, Medlen, C-Mart, Varvaro, Fish/Ascenio (the other one will be gone due to Rule 5/options).

Vizcaino can be brought up in September again, I don't want to see him in the pen period this year before then- no need, Gearrin deserves a shot first, and you've got Moylan when he's ready.

I agree, just assumed he did something silly recently.

I don't mind Scott Atchison, but he isn't anything more than a band-aid.

EDIT: His recent tweets are amazingly trying to insinuate a story.

- Still can't figure out why Roy Oswalt resists pitching for the Red Sox.

- David Ortiz has arrived to Red Sox camp. Last to arrive.
