OPTIMISM IN THE AIR IN BODYMO

Adam Jones looks like he wants to die.

Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi are both reporting that the Marlins offered Jose Reyes a 6-year, $90 million deal. Reyes' agent said he wanted to see what else is out there and it's believed Reyes is still holding out for a $100+ million deal.

So you can pretty much forget about him coming back to the Mets with that deal on the table, yet he's looking for more. Omar would have done it though.

There's also talk that the offers made to Albert Pujols, Mark Buehrle, and Ryan Madson weren't going to be enough to bring any of them in.

I'm not a fan of that cartoon logo, or paneled caps, so that gets a big thumbs down from me.
Bullshit. That logo is the only link to any sort of success the franchise has ever had. When they went to the real bird, it all went downhill from there.

The Mets should back load his damn contract. Team should be more competitve in about four years, meaning more money coming in. Or, add incentives for certain things like batting average or stolen bases.
Or ask Citibank to ask the government for another bailout and use that money to sign him.

... er, 6/90 is what the Mets were going to offer him reportedly. If no one tops $100 it'll be easier for the Mets.
