Lol at the Michael Young vote, must be the unaccounted for locker room leadership that only the Rangers beat writer could observe while stalking him all season, right? What an embarrassment.
Young: 2.4 rWAR, 3.8 fWARDavid Robertson getting a Cy Young AND MVP vote is a lot more reprehensible than Michael Young getting a first-ballot MVP vote by far.
I love that writer's reasoning for giving young the vote. He batted in 3 different lineup spots!
That's a great point. I mean I had actually pegged Ellsbury to win earlier in September.https://twitter.com/buster_espn/status/138760941474025473
Totally agree as dont they have to submit their votes within 24 hrs of the last game of the season?
This tweet sums it up even better:That's a great point. I mean I had actually pegged Ellsbury to win earlier in September.
You didn't post the original tweet!... always gotta try to upstage me.
BLARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH who needs Twitter and stuff who are you, Michael Cole? You didn't post the original tweet!
Verlander? Lol. It's debatable if he actually deserved the CY over sabathia and he wins the MVP too. I have no problem with pitchers winning, but no way verlander derseved it.
I love to hear your case for Sabathia against verlander.
well i still would have probably voted for Verlander but as i said it was debatable. Verlander wasn't the slam dunk that everyone said he was (probably why one of the reasons for his mvp). Verlander led in Siera so that is why i would have voted for him, FIP and xFIP favor CC though, but i prefer Siera over those two. And CC playing in the East closes the gap a little.I love to hear your case for Sabathia against verlander.
That's more than I would give him if I'm the GM. I'm really sad to see him leave, though. At least he isn't going to a team I hate.Nathan's deal is worth $14.5 million with a club option for 2014.
Joe Nathan is getting PAAAAID
A bit too much if you ask me.

Reactions, thoughts, criticisms?
Once he got sorted out about half way through the season he was solid. His velocity was down about 2 mph from 2009 and earlier, but he was still pitching well. I think he'll be great the next year or two, but I think the Rangers did overpay slightly. I hope the only saves he blows are against the Twins.I think it's an excellent signing by the Rangers. He is the best closer by far available if healthy...maybe they know something we don't? I just can't see him be a 100% pitcher going into the next season.

needs to be a little more consistent. This is the first year where he has been considered one of the best in the game.Kemp not a top 10 player in baseball? Come on, man.
