Joanna and Ronda on the same card will be awesome, simply for the fact that Ronda's popularity will expose more people to how much of a badass Joanna is.

People sleeping on Holm. She might get taken down and subbed in under a minute... But at least she has a legit striking advantage, and more importantly, matches up physically. Can't ask for much more in the division.

Striking advantage? If you mean throwing punches at the opponent, not hitting and making sounds then I agree.

Ronda gets tagged a ton and has some of the worst hands in MMA. She's lucky none of these girls can throw a punch. That being said, Holm has some potential but most likely Ronda is gonna take her down immediately and submit her.

She does have the advantage in striking. It's hard to argue otherwise with her credentials. Ronda is aggressive in her approach but a veteran in striking like Holly should be able to deal with that.

But that's hardly a significant factor when you consider how dangerous Ronda is on the ground. Holly will have to put her to sleep because she won't win a decision.

I'm glad they went for Holly though. She'll have to get into the top contenders now, or it is never going to happen. The Tate 3 fight never interested me. Let Tate get her rematch with Zingano instead. Or fight Nunes.

Yeah I wasn't interested in Tate 3 and Holm was getting a shot at some point anyway. Putting Rousey and Joanna J on the same card is awesome.

tony ferguson has a shot at beating khabib. long lay off plus tony doesn't mind being on his back, dude is active as fuck and has dangerous jitz.

If Dana was smart (el oh el) he'd have Cyborg vs. Tate as a No. 1 contender fight on the same card as Rousey/Holm. It allows Cyborg to prove she can cut to 135, and provides media exposure for her when she legit kills Meisha.

And Ferguson is going to beat Khabib. One of the most active fighters on the roster (he's fought 5 times since Khabib last fought) versus a guy that by the day of the fight will have been out for 20 months through repeated knee injuries. There's hardly a contest there. That and Khabib is probably going to pull out with another injury and not be able to fight.

Tate/Nunes does seem like the logical fight. Let it act as her proving ground and if she loses then put up Nunes next.

Man, I remember when I thought Erick Silva was a future champ. That Fitch fight derailed him hard. He didn't learn from it at all.

An interesting fact is that all of the guys who Silva has beaten in the UFC have all been cut. Maybe it's time for him to go as well. Or if what you guys are saying is true maybe he could try 155.

They will keep him around to fight complete cans in Brazil where he can get first round KO's, plus can get juiced up without consequences. It's crazy how in 3 years he hasn't improved at all, if not regressed.

Just needs a DooHo Choi, Dong Hyun Kim and Hyun Gyu Lim fights to round out the main card. Okay Lim not so much. If only Korean Zombie were still around. A fight with someone like Swanson or Bermudez would have been great.

Interestingly, Silva has 7 million followers while Ronda has 1.6m. I guess housewives don't use twitter much.

UFC orders Rumble to get counseling:
Following a thorough investigation by a third-party law firm, UFC® is extremely disappointed with Anthony Johnson’s recent actions, as the organization does not tolerate behavior of this nature from any athletes under contract with the UFC. Johnson personally apologized to the woman he verbally offended at a Florida gym last week and for the insensitive comments he made on social media afterwards. The woman accepted Johnson’s apology and indicated a desire to put this unfortunate matter behind them. In order to ensure these situations do not happen in the future, Johnson has agreed to participate in counseling and UFC will support him through this process. Johnson has also agreed to make a donation to a Florida-based women’s charity.

Johnson will face Jimi Manuwa at UFC 191®: JOHNSON vs. DODSON 2 on Saturday, September 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
