In case anybody cares, Cyborg Abreu pulls out of the Metamoris 6 main event against Josh Barnett. Ryron Gracie steps up to fill in the slot.

2pm PST this saturday, www.metamoris.com online ppv that also includes Chael Sonnen.

At the exact same time there's a free online stream to Copa Podio, a pro BJJ tourney, www.copapodio.com

Wow, I was looking forward to that match, but actually Ryron is very interesting. I know he's got the skill but I imagine Barnetto will have a good 50-75 lbs on him.

Saw a commercial for a Fight Night card with Edgar vs Faber during the Barcelona match. But the Night part was crossed out and said Morning. WTF UFC, you really going to bury these guys on a morning card?

Is it true the entirety of Metamoris is an empty arena dark match? Very odd.
Yeah, gonna be strange without the oohs and aahs of the crowd. The Bravo vs Royler match for example was really amazing with the crowd noise. I'm guessing Ralek Gracie didn't find it profitable since he was probably giving away more than half the tickets to his own family, the very large Gracie clan.

Ryron has a defensive style so it will be interesting to see not a fight, but how long Ryron can keep the Warmaster from mauling him.

Need video of this, Heel:

Phil Baroni did his first actual pro wrestling match on 4/25 for Future Stars of Wrestling at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas. Baroni, who was managed by Chuck Zito and Jon Fitch, beat his trainer, Michael Modest, who was managed by Disco Inferno. So funny to see Fitch working as a pro wrestling second because for years he hated pro wrestling. He was a fan as a young kid and then hated it when he figured out it wasn’t real, and now he’s performing in it. As for Baroni, he looked way better than a guy in his first match should look, in fact tons better than all but elite level guys look in their first match, but he was working against his trainer. Fitch never got involved past being a second. However, when Disco interfered, Zito was chasing him around ringside.

I was going to say, I read the public wasn't invited, so I imagine it will be an arena full of Gracies.

Do you think you're more or less likely to get banned for using the term "favela rat" on there?

Yeah, strange decision to put such a fight on a foreign fight night.

All this tier structure do is encourage fighters to take on more fights for shit pay which in turn will result in more injuries and shorter careers. On top of that they're trying to justify it by saying they have so many fighters so it's a fair amount which is another load of bullshit. Just cut the dead weight and anyone not in the top 20 generally.

Don't forget limit future prospects even more than it is currently. I imagine even bench riders and practice squad players from other professional sports make better money for less risk.

Can't run one card every week if you only have the top 20 in each division.

Hello guys, New to this world of MMA. Where should/could I start?
It's going against every fiber of my being to do so but I think getting Fight Pass would be a good idea for someone such as yourself. I understand they have a decent library of past UFC fights and Pride (where most of the "legendary" fighters come from). Also you'll wanna bookmark mma mania.com, mmajunkie.com and mmafighting.com for news. And finally i recommend subscribing to the Co-Main Event podcast. Those guys are entertaining, informative, and have great mma discussions.

Kind of excited, as I am for every Barboza fight. A Next Big Thing who has a glass chin is the greatest gimmick ever.

This whole Reebok thing is terrible for the UFC imo. This just might make Bellator an attractive player in the MMA landscape for all the B-level fighters and maybe even some A-level ones. Going from low to high 6 figures in sponsorship money to 40k as the champion is a joke. Not to mention this is Reebok we're talking about. The Titan FC of the sports apparel world.
