Monitoring the situation in Iran

Thing is though, any troops on the Island will surely be sitting ducks for Iran's remaining missile and drones (I imagine they still have a fair number of the latter).

Even if you don't put any troops there until they are weakened further, it could still be a bloodbath.
Depends. IRGC will be striking their own infrastructure then too.

Wait, so let's assume the Biden admin did fuck up this badly, why did they start this war if things were that bad? Wasn't it their responsibility to be prepared for the war before committing to it since, you know, they're the ones starting it?
Because waiting doesn't only give time to one side.

And of course, global oil and gas prices would rise even further.
This is true. It's a matter of how significant a further 1-2% drop in global output really is at this point vs its value as leverage against Iran.

He sealed a major partnership with Japan and deepened our friendship, so the comments aren't too important. And he was very warm with Takaichi, pulling out chairs for her and escorting her around personally, as a gentleman. Those are the things the Japanese people on socials are commenting about mainly.
The most important part. Everything else is just noise.

Seems more like 4.5%?

"Iran is the third-largest OPEC producer, pumping about 4.5% of global oil supplies. Iran's output is about 3.3 million bpd of crude, plus 1.3 million bpd of condensate and other liquids."

Iranian oil is still being exported to China. It's the Qatar, UAE, Iraq, Saudi and Bahrain oil/gas/fertilizer that is not being shipped to the world and which is slowly creating a huge gap in all economies.

What I would like to say should happen to every member of this brutal, terrorist regime (and Carter for enabling this by supporting them way back when) would likely get me kicked off the internet and on several watch lists.

I also have severe hate for Western-based terrorist sympathizers/propagandists. That they are crying because Netanyahu made an appearance and it seems like the public hanging of teenagers doesn't register as newsworthy with them, really puts into perspective the absolute scum that they are.

Oh what I would like to say about them is even worse than what I have to say about the Iranian terror regime. I'll refrain though.

Netanyahu: "Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good."

People like you won't be satisfied until America is a totally walled off compound where people live in huts. You just don't know what you're talking about.

From the very beginning America was connected to world markets for the export of raw materials because America didn't have the industrial machines to make anything until the end of the 19th century via state-sanctioned industrial theft of IP from the UK. We have this core fantasy in our heads that America can be this self-sufficient island paradise when it never has been. Like watching a curated social media of preppers and off-grid people and romanticizing about how great life was in the pre-industrial society with water tanks Made in China that would have been 3x more expensive if it was "Made in USA". Their ultimate "exit strategy" was funded by the very system it critiques.

Genghis Khan = Hard Power
Jesus Christ = Soft Power

In a contest of Hard power vs Soft power, Hard power will always win regardless of who is evil or good.

Imagine struggling to understand that soft power only works when backed by copious amounts of implied hard power. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Week 3 of the 4 day special military operation is going great

NATO said its mission would continue from a military headquarters in Naples, Italy. The mission does not have a combat role. It focuses on advising Iraqi security forces and helping them build up their capacities, according to NATO.

This is Iran's topography. In order to get to center of iran you are essetnially riding through valleys of death from which you can be ambushed easily from positions deep into mountains that are not possible to reach with bunker busting bombs. Add to that drones + mines and you have recipe for never ending production of caskets to who ever decides to invade them.

There is a reason why those guys are there before humans could even write.

From reports they also seem to spend last 50 years building vast underground networks and since they are oil state they had ton of money to do it well. Same reports say that their main operation hubs are around 1km underground same as Russian's, Chinese etc. Not even nuclear bombs will take them out.

If you can see their topography then you can also see that whole of strait is in reach of artilery fire from it's mountain range. If Iran wants to close straight it will close it and nothing you can do about it.

The best way to invade Iran is from pakistani side but that still gets you valleys of death just not as bad ones as with other routes but still you are looking at serious casulties.

Unless US is willing to commit mass of bodies and from looks of it no one has appetite for actual ground war in US there is no condition under which US can win this war.

Moreover the more time this war will go the better Iran forces will adapt to US hardware and strategies same way Ukrainians did. At start they were badly beaten but gradually over time they build up capabilities, tactics etc. where they could stop russians. Same thing happened in Afganistan. They were beaten, then reorganized, learned US tactics and started then to hears them, instead of using normal anti vehicle mines which humvess were pretty secure against with modification (in sense that crew can survive) they started to mass produce ied with any amount of explosives they want so they can adapt so not only humvess were being blown up but also apcs and other harder hardware.

Oh, there absolutely is a way to get people out of bunkers. A very effective one.

That list all the events and attacks in the last 47 years where they killed or maimed actual Americans. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

But hey we have no skin in the game.
The funny part from various discussions with some leftists, it seems like Iranian history has started in 2024 or something. Plus all the terror cells in USA seems to be just your friendly neighbourhood tourists too.

Or they bring up 1953 where they installed the Shah (who was already on the throne LOL). So I started asking them when Mossadegh was elected and who his opponent was and how much did he win by in the election for "President of Iran". Really throws them for a loop 😂

All these headlines signaling a "wind down" reads to me like the opposite is about to happen. They really are batshit insane if they try a ground invasion, even if it is just that small island.
