Monitoring the situation in Iran

Could be related. Could be unrelated. Don't know. But if it isn't, then it's a hell of a coincidence.

What I do know is the greedy corpo scum will use this as justification to push gas prices up another couple of $$$ for the consumer.

The fuel cost doesn't just vanish, it transfers, so of course home electric goes up but unless you have some terrible tier pricing it will be way less than gas. Tesla app shows you your savings when you put the cost per kWh in.

I would assume all depends on which state and the cost of electricity in that state like California is pretty expensive and how much they drive

I know back home in Indiana when my son switched to a Tesla his app shows he pays around $10 of extra electricity for 300 miles of range when charging at home

With some of the strictest gun laws in the country, guess criminals don't care about laws
Yeah, I mean if I use the AC daily in the summer my electric bill goes from $180 to well over $400 for a 1000 sqft apartment so our electricity is expensive, it's gone up a lot since covid, sadly everything has and nothing has come down. I used to live in a small house (1100 sqft) and have two separate AC units going there all summer long the bill was never over $200.

An extra $10 for 300 miles is pretty damned good compared to what I pay for gas, that's about how many miles I get on a full tank and it costs a hell of a lot more than $10 lol.

Can't wait for this New world of permanently higher energy prices.
It's not the energy that bothers me so much - and it shouldn't bother you as well. Problem is that everything has to be transported, so if transport gets more expensive, literally everything will get more expensive. And unlike Diesel, food prices usually do not drop when energy prices go back to normal... I hope they get this shit under control as otherwise there will be mayhem.

Fertilizers are also going to get way more expensive so the prices won't just increase because of transport, shit's going to be ridiculously expensive

These rising costs are gonna turn people against Trump on another level than before, because it is all on him and never needed to be.
Curiously there are no "I did that" stickers on the gas pumps by me - although a Google search says they are starting to appear elsewhere.

Nah, his fan base will come up with a reason why it's a good thing under Trump.

A lot of them will certainly dance around the issue and all the lies in order to keep supporting him, this is true. I don't expect Bayou Billy in Louisiana to start voting Democrat due to all of this. There are also conservative voters that have grown to hate Trump's guts, but still won't bring themselves to go blue. But there will be some that will turn, and ultimately it's the Centrist Support that the Republic Party is hemorrhaging. The way things are going now, and especially if it continues to get worse, I don't see how Republicans don't get absolutely cooked in the Midterms. I don't think it'll be on an unprecedented level, but it's going to be pretty bad for Trump.
