Monster Hunter 3 Tri Official Site Updated

Hey, I got a question. People say the CC is the best way to play this game but after looking more into it, do I still need to use an index claw to rotate the camera? If so, isn't the Wii remote + Nunchuck combo better? Even on the PSP I never bothered learning the claw because I only rotated during rolls and attacks and used centering most of the time.
Where did you "look into" it? There are presets, some use the PSP style left stick + d-pad for movement/camera, others have the camera mapped to the right stick.

I watched a video on YouTube about CC2 (the recommended one) and left stick = movement, right stick = attack, leaving d-pad for camera. So you basically can't move and rotate the camera at the same time. I don't see how that's better. CC1 was like the PSP one right? If so, then the left thumb is either rotating the camera or moving the character. Or does the PSP method have the camera mapped to the right stick? If so, why is everyone recommending CC2 (old school MH)? I don't want the claw ever. So if this ends up being a claw setup, I'm going to get MH3 with Wii Speak separately instead of the complete bundle.

By the way, I know what you're suggesting with those quotes but that wouldn't make sense, because otherwise I would know firsthand how it works =_=

CC2 is PS2 style so if you use it you will need to contort your hands to move and control the camera simultaneously (personally I prefer to stretch over my right thumb as opposed to the claw).

However CC1 is PSP style with the extra stick on camera duty as well as the D-Pad. This is my favourite control scheme personally as having easy camera control access to both thumbs is very convenient.

The main benefit to CC2 is that there is no finicky "tap both buttons simultaneously" attack, Though honestly I believe this is only really a useful to GS users.

You will most likely want to map the camera to the right analog stick since you will spend a lot of time running around monsters and still be fast with attacking with more fingers at your disposal. I don't use the D-Pad so much when playing MH3.

Pretty amp about this game. I haven't play MH in a long time, been itching to play it again. Have they announce the option to use a keyboard in this game? because I think wii speak is stupid.

NVM.

The Japanese version uses a keyboard.

Does anyone know if WiiSpeak is for everyone or friends only? How about typing, is that for everyone or friends only? Or will there be no friend system, no fee online and still capcom's own servers?

Dunno about wii speak, but theres supposed to be no online fee and no friend codes, just actual lists.

Maybe this can be useful to some as well then. Found it in the news section of the English website.

Might be a good video for those who don't know much about Monster Hunter. The first few seconds are probably enough to either sell you on the game or not :P

The demo coming out March 8th will be great. Have they said where people can get it? I'm so happy that Nintendo is pushing this game big time.

I'm really excited about the No Friend Codes and No Online Fees. I don't have Wii Speak, but I might get it depending on how much I like the demo.

Gamestop I think.

Nope, free to anyone at Gamestop whether they preordered or not
http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/02/24/monster_hunter_tri_demo__pre-order_clarification

Also, if you preorder through Gamestop they are taking $5 off the price, so the game is $45 (free 500 point card) or the game + cc pro + 500 point card = $55

In that case, i'll be on the look out at work. Our store better get some in...might have to bug someone at Capcom unity if we dont get any in by March 8.

Will definitely have to keep an eye out for that demo. I have been really interested in this title for a long while, though I didn't enjoy the demo of Freedom Unite. Hopefully a second shot at the franchise will prove more successful.

You can actually get the demo mailed to you for free; just sign up on the official site under the "rewards" page. You just have to have a capcom-unity.com account with a valid mailing address.

Wait what? Really? Fuck I bought a CC Pro specifically for this game in the wonderous anticipation of having camera control on the right analogue stick with no need for a fucking claw. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU~

500 free Wii points?

This game just went from a rent to a must-buy.

QFT
Capcom has done everything imaginable to get folks to buy this game. If this thing doesn't sell like nuts then it's CERTAINLY not Capcoms fault.

I am using CC2 as I am too used to it. I tried CC1 and its too confusing for me.

Not true, it is actually the best among the 2 controls except for the camera. It was quite a breakthru back then when they announced right analog for all weapons attack for the first MH.

IMHO, the best Great sword control got to be the Wiiremote + Nunchuk as it feels dam natural. Also if you want to shift the camera and attack at the same time, the wii remote is the only way that enable you to execute it with ease.

I will do this.

Also, Amazon.com is offering a 10 dollar video game credit when you preorder MH Tri.

All those weapons are new, they are from the contest winners. The gun is not thou.

And at 1.03, Long Sword can knock down now, its not in the JP version.

What was that sword Hunter 3 was using? Looks cool and fast.

For someone who never played a Monster Hunter game, is it worth it to play the single player before going online? Or is it fine to go online right away, like Diablo II for exemple?

You'll probably want to go ahead and get the demo mailed to you. If you wait till retail, then yeah, the tutorial quests will help.

Tenebra, its a new weapon.

On 2nd thought, for the knock down, it might be the skill he equipped. There is one skill that enable knock down for first attack.

Definitely, there are offline exclusive monster and for first timer, you might clock 100hrs just for offline.

Free online play, April release, and a demo in March? Awesome. I haven't played any of the Monster Hunter games, but was interested in this one. All of these announcements only fed that interest. Looking forward to that demo.
