Is the Felyne and Melynx dual blades worth investing in? Low base damage, but two slots and 150 elemental, and great sharpness!

Also considering plesioth cutlasses, currently on leader's shotels

I have to say I'm loving the story in this. I'm not a story guy at all, at all at all, but man I'm having a lot of fun with this one.

Much better than Tri/3U

They're the paralyze ones right? I haven't used them but those stats are somewhat like the Chum-Chum Scarecrows in 3U that I used. Usually one demon dance was enough to inflict the first paralysis, it was completely insane.

Hey, a question:

If I complete a higher ranked quest online by being a passenger with some better players, will it be marked as completed when I eventually unlock it?

Also, what are the various icons near the player names when in a quest? Like a small blue shield for example, is it to indicate a buff?

During a quest, are the player icon colors the same on everyone's screen?

I'm thinking about setting phrases to be able to target players individually (eg. “Player with BLUE icon,” + “get off the head!”).

It will.

And yes, those are usually buffs. If their weapon icon blinks that means they're in combat. Good way to see where the monster currently is if you're not in the same area. Just follow the color on the mini map.

Yes. The guy who picked the quest from the counter is always red for everyone, the next guy who joined is always another color, etc.

I feel like I'm missing something as there seems to be no way to check what the skill my kinsect gets on evolution does. Like yea, speed up (l) is self explanatory but the other one is speed up (m) and extract efficiency up (s), what does that dooooo is that the time buff?

I just did all the caravan 10 missions I could (up until Fatalis/Savage jho) and now I can't seem to unlock anything else, do I need higher HR (haven't unlocked G missions online yet)?

Yep. More unlock when you reach G1, some more unlock when you reach G2, another batch unlocks when you reach G3, and the final quest unlocks when you do every caravan quest.

I don't really have a problem but as I mentioned the really low Fire res is annoying.

How do I reliably break Rajang's horns? Need the Ghoulish Gold Horn. I've tried Barrel Bomb L+ x8 (with a teammate) and they still don't budge. Using CB, but I can do any weapons.

Yeah sometimes i wish this game was on the PS4, i honestly don't care what Japan likes. Imagine 1080p, 60FPS, better textures, better view distance, AA, better controls and better online.

I will get Toukiden Kiwami but it won't be the same quality as this awesome series.

Basically you want to use a good hammer and traps. (Just make any hammer with 1xxx Atk if you can)

Start by laying down a shock trap and pound&baseball swing the head a bit.
Then use the pitfall when he's angry.
I have very limited hammer skill and no fitting armor so I just packed mats for another trap and kept pounding his face. You can easily get times within 5-10min with a somewhat decent hammer even if you suck royally.

[Edit Addendum: Then you cash out via the break the horns subquest]

^ this didn't work very well for me. He moves so much when he's in a pitfall trap that you sometimes hit the air. And you also bounce off on his arms when he's in rage. Generally Rajang is such an unpredictable dickwad that I found it really hard to cheese him like that so I went and whipped out my trusty glaive and learned the fight and broke his horns without much of a problem. He's quite resistant to mounting but if you do get one in you can get rid of one horn quite easily. Got two hearts and that horn after only three kills.

Black Blos anybody? Can do it with two.

Exactly that. A kick. Useful for hitting a teammate who may fall asleep or is paralysed when your weapon isn't out. When you have your weapon out, it performs a different action for each (GS does a kick that lets you get to your Strong attack, or morph in Charge Blade).
