You should. GOAT'ed series. You could even pick up World if you wanted if you didn't want to wait as the first game is still a fantastic experience and looks great on both base PS5 and PC.
I have tried hard to get into the series, tried since the 3ds. I just can't. Something just isn't clicking with me, it so weird. It looks and plays like something I should love but...I dunno.

I'm going by Capcoms latest financials. PC is larger than consoles combined and I would put money that ps5s concurrent is not approaching these numbers.

Ita basically helldivers 2 all over again. I'd say ps5 would be lucky to be hitting 250 to 300k concurrent in this game. Running quick math

Show me your math. Helldivers 2 was basically 50 50 at the start.

PC is a powerhouse but the reason for consoles lacking is basically that Xbox isn't relevant anymore as far as sales go. I would put money on it that you are wrong.

seems like the beta runs like ass on PC.

wouldn't be a surprise.

I'm currently installing it on Series X, but I'll also give it a look on PC later. I bet my PC will run it a tad better than the Series X, but I'd be shocked if I get a smooth 60 even there

They sold on PC more than the other consoles (PS/XB/Switch) combined per their latest earnings.

The odds are very high in that favor.

Back catalogue sales are generally alot higher on pc. So extrapolating day one sales is delusional. I also think Mh might have strongest base in the future but not by a wide margin at release.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Ok?

You can turn one way, or the other. But the end result will be that this game is most likely going to sell the highest for Capcom on PC.

Well I also can say that switch 2 version is likely which will likely challenge whatever pc sells. Either way Xbox is gonna be like 5% of total sales.

Tried it on PC. Purely from a technical point of view:
- looks mighty impressive for a MH title
- many many graphics settings...
- ... with instant previews and no "need a restart" shenanigans
- many upscaling options, with sharpness options, quality options, FPS limiter for foreground and background, separate cutscene limiter
- many button prompts styles between different Xbox and Playstation generations; DualSense support (at least wired)
- no full screen exclusive mode
- 21:9 support is ok, but still shows very small bars left and right
- frame pacing could be better, VRR helps to some extent; no smooth frame pacing possible
- performance is ok, capped at 40 with some overhead (50–55 might be possible) and DLAA with a mix of high and maximum settings, RTX 3080. Solid 60fps with DLSS on quality, but hair looks bad with aliasing and shimmering this way.

I never played a Monster Hunter game before but it looks great. Maybe I'll give it a try.
Just know that the gameplay leans towards more the heavy animation commitment side, and that's make some new players say the animations and gameplay suck because they are sluggish. Other thing that take new players by surprise is that the game can be a little overwhelming on its mechanics for a first time player, there are many things that are not properly taught by the game in details, especially the depth of how some weapons work despite there being a weapon move list for all the 14 weapons.

As an old school mh player this sounds absolutely wild, in a positive sense. :D

Yeah...anyone thinking about releasing a game in the vicinity of February 28, 2025 might want to go ahead and shift their release date a few weeks.

This one is going to do insane numbers.
That's why I fear for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. It might not be in the same ballpark and its releasing earlier but anything close to monster hunter will suffer with collateral damage.

Not gonna lie, this character made me aware of MH Wilds. I only ever played one MH game many years back, finished the ultra mediocre main campaign and was done with the game and series. And then this woman appears on screen.

Yes, I have a simple brain.

The campaign is basically the tutorial for every monster hunter game. Capcom adds more monsters through patches for free to keep the game alive and up the challenge and rewards, then the expansions are always harder and bring balance changes and new mechanics for existing weapons or new gimmicks. It's very entertaining, albeit a little too grindy for some. I like it a lot because the replayability of every game is through the roof.

I'll give you my ass math...lol

The slide i saw had 2024 as like 10,000 pc consoles 10,000 with digital and physical combined.

That's adamsapples thread on financials.

Now let's imagine the switch doesn't contribute and it's an even split between pc, Xbox and ps5. So 10k pc, 10k ps5 and xbox.

We know ps5 is over 60 million and xbox is at almost 30 million.

So I put pc at 500k concurrent and split the equal between ps5 and xbox. So, around 350k for ps5 and 150k for xbox.

So that's where my head was at 😆 🤣

it's same as world, only with focus mode now let you do 180 angle aim on any weapon, rather than being lock in small angle like world

this has to be the ugliest game I've played so far on Series X.

it's hard to put into words how shit this game looks. the only comparison I can think of is Doom 2016 or Witcher 3 on Switch... those are the closest.
and while looking like shit it also still drops below 40fps at times.

modern game development is so absolutely fucked it's actually crazy
