Isn't this a retread of a leak from July/August 2022?

----------------------------------

On Friday, Colin Moriarty’s Sacred Symbols podcast contained an unusual segment featuring part of an alleged casting script for British actors reading for the part of Lara Croft herself. “They’re looking for a female in their mid-30s, who’s white, five-foot-six, athletic, and a prototype of Emily Blunt, Rosamund Pike, etc,” Moriarty read.

Then he went on to read a large passage describing a possible new tone for the new game:

After that, his co-hosts Chris and Dustin acted out the two casting scenes, featuring Lara, a woman named Tanvi, and a man named Devindra. (I hope I’m spelling that correctly.) Lastly, Moriarty reads a note that the female actor they’re looking for may have “romantic scenes with another female character” but that “there is no nudity or simulated sex.”

All of that was apparently enough to push Square Enix’s Crystal Dynamics to send the DMCA takedown notice the very same day — though not to Moriarty but, rather, the Patreon page where subscribers support his podcast, directly threatening his source of income.

----------------------------------
Yeah this. Close up shop. This is already a known leak for the game.

Who knows how much has changed in a couple years. Probably not a lot I'm guessing.

Honestly, don’t even care about her sexual orientation. It’s the other stuff. MMO? 4 companions? Magic?

What? Am I missing something? I’m playing a Tomb Raider game right?

We should be thankful for the current remasters and a possible Last Revelation release.
I sure hope so. And a part of me is still hoping for a Deathtrap Dungeon remaster. Given it was like playing a TR game(was also developed the same time TR2 was) with weapons and you went through this Castle and it felt like a Castlevania game in it's own right. Would love to play it with modern controls.

Ah, a man of culture who appreciates Deathtrap Dungeon. Loved getting lost in that game. Super oppressive atmosphere. I actually finished it and remember it being super hard by the end.

I’m afraid it’s a forgotten game.

I don't care either, but I have to say I do bristle at the artificiality of its imposition.

It serves no purpose. Worse, everyone knows that its just there for DEI brownie-points.

Its not inclusion, its blatant tokenism in service of a cultural agenda.

Obvious analogy to maybe make these dimwits understand why its such a terrible idea is to suggest why don't they have a sequence in there where Lara visits a priest and discusses why she's devoutly Christian and pro-life? You know, just jam some lip-service to the religious right!

That'd be more inclusive right? Or is that *the wrong sort of inclusivity* because its guaranteed to rile up people on the other side of the issue?

How well did the remakes do? I completely forgot to pick it up.
I don't know about sales numbers but they made a good job. A simple remaster yet a great way to play the first three games. I loved replaying 1 and 2 with tank controls+remastered graphics.

Lara was a sex symbol but it's funny because in this case I never saw her in that way when playing the games. It's not like Dead or Alive or something.
Honestly I have no expectations for the next game, I didn't enjoy the last trilogy.

Don't worry gents. Lara will look more like a Larry and it will look like a heterosexual relationship to those of us with eyes, but still check all of the boxes for the they/them crowd. Point is, Lara is dead. They killed her. Meet Larry.

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
It makes sense shes a Lesbian, I mean why would she ever like men? All they've done is try to kill her.

Hopefully its a hot lesbian sex scene.

That’s according to a script allegedly being used to cast the unrevealed game’s actors, which was obtained and shared by Sacred Symbols (paywalled).

According to the alleged script, the next Tomb Raider is internally known as ‘Project Jawbreaker’, and is described as “an action adventure game set in a modern-day world rocked by a mysterious cataclysm”.

"On this new adventure, Lara will encounter a challenge she can only overcome with a team at her side. Collaboration is foreign to her: she’s always succeeded alone, so in this situation she’s a fish out of water.”
  • The internal codename for the next Tomb Raider game is 'Project Jawbreaker'
  • It is said to be an "action-adventure game set in a modern world shaken by a mysterious catastrophe."
  • According to the casting notes for Lara Croft, a "genuinely British" actress in her mid-30s will be cast for the role.
  • Lara Croft will also have "a romantic scene with another female character."
  • According to the script, "Lara Croft is at her peak now. Gone is the image of a young, immature woman struggling with her legacy and family issues."
  • "Lara has left her childhood behind and fully embraced her life as an adventurer.
  • "Typical Ubisoft" structure.
  • Four companions, each with their own abilities.
  • Open or semi-open world, not clear.
  • Lara has a motorcycle to make it easier for players to explore.
  • MMO elements.
  • Five very typical villains, including a rich man, a mafia boss, and two brothers.
  • Famous characters like Jonah Maiava and Curtis Trent will return.
  • Lara will have a skill tree with spells.
  • The game mixes various trends and genres.
how modern of you lara, lets see how that pays off.

Don’t know if this is real. Lol. I’ll give any game a look, but this does not sound promising

Also:

  • Lara Croft will also have "a romantic scene with another female character."
This is actually just a smoke screen for the writers not being able to write a strong heterosexual female (and the challenges that come with that from a psychological perspective with a predominantly male audience), so they masquerade this as some brave and lefty thing but it’s actually the safest play.

why they just can’t make her some smokin hot British women with lots of confidence and being bad ass and leave it at that is beyond me.

Ffs. How hard is it to make a game about raiding tombs?

Uncharted is dormant. Now its the chance to copy it and get some money from people that are missing it.

Crystal Dynamics cant write for shit. TR 2013 was fun, but the other sequels were so bad. So badly written with bad characters and story. Have no hope for this one. Get another dev.

It started off so good with an experienced badass Lara at her peak and exploration (and lesbians hell ya), but got worse quick. I could hear the screech in my head "Ubisoft structure". 5 typical villains? Skill trees? MMO elements? Chasing current trends?

Just fkn lmao. Hopefully it's a bullshit rumor.

I would think it was false but that's basically outlaws. 🤷‍♂️

Is it possible to make a heterosexual female lead?

This right here, I'm so confused as to why there's nearly no games with a preset straight female lead.

Don't count character creation games since their personality is typically a plank of wood and players can typically just choose between gay/straight.

It's so strange to me.

You’re absolutely making this up in your head. Who apart from Ellie is gay as a main protagonist? There are 0 male gay main characters.

Alloy could kiss a girl for a second at the end of an expansion - and even that was totally optional. You just can’t stand have ONE single gay main character in the last of us and automatically jump on making great boogeyman generalisations.
Nice try retard. The trend of everything in modern culture becoming homosexually themed is way past the "stop noticing" point. Might as well start call us incels hecause your ruse has become a parody of itself.

very interesting seeing the american pie days where it was such a titilating and hot thing to see girl on girl action, but now the people itt are having a fit. truly amazing how fast public perception can change.
Huh? When did men stop liking hot chicks fucking each other?

Oh you mean ugly, androgynous robots with square jaws kissing and smashing the patriarchy in video games...

But wait, those aren't the same.

So, people are going to complain about potential lesbian sex scenes with Lara?

Isn't that a W?

I'm thinking that games still cater to guys no matter what developers try to claim. Imagine being a girl and you have only a few female characters in big franchises to choose from. Like Aloy, Ellie or Lara. And you're thinking how great if the character can find a guy as a love interest. And then you find out that they only like girls. A guy playing a female character will likely not be enchanted by the idea that you have to romance some guy so that's why they make them gay or bi instead.

I guess the only games with a female straight protagonist can mostly be found in "create your own character" games like Mass Effect.

I feel sorry for younger girls/women growing up in the modern world and being constantly told by the media that they have to be lesbian, no such thing as two women just being good friends.

They basically trying to create future femcels.

Why not just have a fucking game with no romance at all? I mean why do these blue haired fucks need to push agendas?

I personally dont think romance at all is needed at all in most games 🤷🏼

If there's one thing you can count on modern devs doing Is inserting their weird fringe fetishes into a game rather than just... making the game good.

You can always tell this with how aggressive and kind of rapey most video game "romances" end up being. I'm not sure there's really any game that does romance well, I guess uncharted but even then that's just well written characters, not a game "romance".

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
So this will be the first time in 30 years I'm going to say no to Lara, sad times

How is this a W? You expect this to be something "hot"? Video games isn't porn.

In mainstream modern video games and TV shows these scenes must be anything but hot. They are not supposed to be for the "male gaze". These scenes are there for the message only so it's usually quite the opposite of hot.

I’m seriously scratching my head where are all of these developers getting their directive to change their formulas for success I mean is there someone or some entity above them that is directing all of these executives to make these stupid decisions with major franchises in order to push agendas?

I can’t fathom that there are that many brain dead executives who see all of these games, pushing agendas, failing left and right, but they continue down this path? It didn’t hurt other games like the last of us because it was a new franchise, and the character was upcoming of age.

But taking established franchises who have years of history of sex appeal, and deciding, we need to change the narrative and shoehorn in sexual diversity sounds like a woke agenda.

I am scared that grand theft auto six is going to be a complete and utter disappointment. I’m not sure it will ever live up to the previous games. I can already smell sweet babys involvement and/or PR campaign against it
