Developer: TaleWorlds Entertainment
Publisher: TaleWorlds Entertainment
Platform: PC (Windows)
Release: March 30, 2020 (Early Access)
Genre: Action RPG, Strategy

OVERVIEW:
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is an action role-playing game with strategy elements. The fundamental gameplay premise is the same as previous entries in the series: the player builds up a party of soldiers and performs quests on an overhead campaign map, with battles being played out on battlefields that allow the player to personally engage in combat alongside their troops. Bannerlord, however, includes significant improvements to numerous elements of gameplay. In development since 2012, Bannerlord is a sequel to the acclaimed "Mound & Blade"and its standalone expansion, "Warband". Developed by TalesWorlds, a smaller Turkish studio founded by a Bilkent University student, this is their fourth standalone game and their first built in a new engine. [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA, WITH SOME ADDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS]

STORY:
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord takes place on the fictional continent of Calradia 210 years before Mount & Blade: Warband, during the decline of the Calradic Empire and the formation of the predecessors of the factions that appear in Warband. The downfall of the Calradic Empire is analogous to the fall of the Roman Empire during the Migration Period and the formation of the Middle Eastern, North African, and European realms of the Early Middle Ages. The armour, clothes, weapons, and architecture of each faction will be inspired by their real-world counterparts from 600 to 1100 A.D.. [FROM THE WIKI]

Finally!
How long do they expect the early access period to last? i.e. better hop on board and hope for the best or wait until the worst of the bugs have been squished out?

Just wanna add that this game is quintessential PC indie, one of the OGs.

Never had good graphics and was originally made by a husband + wife pair. I bought the key directly from their website. Mod community even in those early days was on fire. Mods to expand the armors and weapons, mods to expand the options for kingdom-building and seiges (later rolled into official expansions), Lord of the Rings mods, Five Rings mods, mods that added firearms, etc etc

This game is what inspired me to learn python scripting because I wanted to figure out how far the game could be stretched.

It's been a while:

You in Gaming forum? :D Just joking, but since you created the Warband OT, looks like you have good taste in gaming (good taste = liking M&B)

Fantastic thread, i used to play Mount & Blade (the original) obsessively, specifically the Prophesy of Pendor mod.

I hate it wen games are early access because there's no way for me to foresee whether or not they botch something up along the way. This might be an exception, i have been waiting a long time.

Min specs quoted are GTX 660, shitty core i3 and 6GB of RAM - for a laptop that means you'll probably want a GTX 750+ and an i5 as pre 10-series laptop GPUs weren't great vs their desktop counterparts.
I have a 940, which I'm not sure is good enough or not, but I get terrible performance even in games like csgo running at lowest settings.

Anything x40 has tended to be pretty awful - I'd say that machine sadly won't make the grade. That said, a desktop that will do the job won't set you back a tonne of money if you're ok to go desktop.

Thanks. Mine is a 940MX 4GB which I can't find on there but I can't imagine it is much different. Unfortunately a desktop is not possible.

Can't find a 4gb variant of the 940MX anywhere - either way I don't think it'll make much difference. That GPU definitely isn't going to run Bannerlord. Sorry to be the bearer of shit news.

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/15-gaming-laptops/ - time to get hunting. The £700 one will probably be ok for M&B2 but not much else. https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/proteusVII-15/ with 1tb SSD and 16GB RAM will do a job for you for a good long time but will cost money.

Wonder if multiplayer will still have roaming mobs of butt naked guys wielding the most expensive 2-handers and zerg rushing and oneshotting everyone on the map? :messenger_grinning_sweat:

The good ol days!
