Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Xbox series X is pretty useless without being able to sign in. Can't even watch Netflix, YouTube, or any other streaming apps. Not sure why they tie that to signing in.

That's why I couldn't remote play Elden Ring DLC with my Xbox on my lunch break.

I had to resort to starting Elden Ring DLC on my PS5. It's funny how fast I got to the Shadow Keep.

I agree but you always had to sign in to PSN to stream too...since PS3

I was able to login on xbox... but the store doesn't work and I can't do the daily gamepass rewards.

At least I was able to do the normal rewards and keep my streak.

Hopefully they fix it today...

Yeah but get this- just imagine a future where you can ONLY play on the cloud and everything REQUIRES the internet for it to run? Isn't that an AWESOME future?!

Nope I disconnected and retried and even though I had an error the first time, I could connect and play right after.

Then it probably hasn't hit your regional blades yet, or is localized to specific parts of the world only.

Most likely parental controls.

AWS is also reporting down. Seems like a larger issue than game services?

Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

Won't they all just be symptoms of xbox live being down? I.e. people conflating the game outage with the service outage

Is there an internet connection link between the companies, maybe a low quality upstream provider (HE, Cogent) that has a routing problem? Or some kind of denial of service attack targeting the gaming space.

Weird that they all have problems on the same day.

I started having general internet connection problems a bit ago then noticed I couldn't log into xbox stuff/games... thought it was just me

We should now ask these companies the same bullshit question they keep asking us as a reply to the always online requirements:

"But don't you guys have internet?"
