My Nintendo Thread: Mii Nintendo, U Nintendo, Wii Nintendo

Regardless, seems ridiculous to exclude people who prefer physical copies. Their previous rewards system included physical copies, why not this one? As some one who made platinum every year with club nintendo, this new account system isn't going to give me the same benefits strictly because I don't want to go digital for most of my games.

It's just unfortunate.

Relax. It's temporary. They will add retail games at a later date. I would expect when the NX comes out.

the best rewards don't take platinun/miitomo coins, fuck

cool that I can pool both coins for the others tho. I only have 670 Platinum but I can get the discount on Wind Waker for example since I have 315 Miitomo coins too

The email that has the code looks like an ad. It just says something like "My Nintendo and Miitomo is out!" with the code near the bottom of the email. I deleted it earlier because I thought it was nothing, then had to go back and dig through my email trash to find it.

Also, it got sent to my old Club Nintendo email, not the email I added to the MyNintendo account.

So how does the Coupon codes work. If I reedeem the Link between worlds one today, can I use it next week. Also wondering if you get Gold coins off of games you use a Coupon for?

Miitomo: 5 game tickets - 420 Platinum/Miitomo Points (glitch?!)
Miitomo: 10 game tickets - 250 Platinum/Miitomo Points
That tenner is a one-time reward.

OP, I feel you should tackle these in a FAQ section:
where's the eShop webpage yoo
On the games' pages.
1) Has anyone figured out whether download codes from MyN that normally cost $$, if redeemed, give you coins?
Positive.

Whoa...is this the first downloadable retail DS title on 3DS?
It's kinda DSiWare.
I don't really get the reasoning of splitting up regular Platinum points and Miitomo Platinum points...
Miitomo Points are Platinum Points which you can also use in Miitomo.

Also, CN senior award only in NA.

I'm not really used to the whole linking accounts thing, if I link my Facebook account will friends get spammed or anything? Is it really just so Nintendo can get juicy user data from me?

Same with Miitomo.
Miitomo uses your friendlists to add other Miis, only other method is locally, afaik.
As for NAcc, dunno. Maybe the ToS say something about that.
I will say that the 3DS' post-to-social-networks app-site-thing wanted full control of my Twitter.

On that note:
I'll assume that you can unlink again social networks from your NAcc. How is it with Miitomo?

Without Miitomo, getting Zelda Picross will be a long drag.

Hm, I want to get those Platinum Miitomo coins, but I don't have a smart phone....what to do, what to do.
Just to reiterate what I said earlier, you can earn 120 platinum points per week just by logging in to various Nintendo services (see my previous post for the full details). Considering you should have anything from 190 to 590 points from the initial set-up alone - that's excluding any Miitomo points - the wait might not be as long as you're imagining.

In addition to this, I've just noticed the following line tucked away at the bottom of the official My Nintendo announcement email that Nintendo sent out: "Subscribe to our emails to receive free My Nintendo points every month". There's no mention of how many, but every little helps, right? I assume the emails they're referring to are the promotional ones that you can opt in to on the Nintendo Account homepage (https://accounts.nintendo.com).

On a less bright note, I get the impression that everybody receiving the Club Nintendo bonus points is from North America. Have any Europeans had any luck in this regard?

I won't hold my breath. :-(

I did everything I could today and managed to get exactly 300 Miitomo points and 700 Platinum points. I'm ... not even sure how that happened. I don't even think it all adds up.

So I just spent all them points that Picross game. Feels good.

I can't believe how Miitomo and My Nintendo have both gone incredibly smoothly and flawlessly, remembering Club Nintendo.

Everything links together perfectly into Nintendo's ecosystem.

My problem with that is the old Club Nintendo had a 1 year + lifespan. People tried to argue that "Club Nintendo changed stuff periodically so you couldn't get what you wanted!". Well, MyNintendo is doing the same.
That's just taking half my arguments here.
My other very important point was with Club Nintendo: You could barely get any points. Can't really force yourself to buy a game when you couldn't. I could have wanted a SNES controller for Wii (that existed), but the moment I was able to get enough points... It was gone.

My Nintendo? They're giving you a lot. A lot of platinum points, for free. Gold points might be a remake of Club Nintendo (but worse) in that regard, that said.
But still, a lot of platinum points, which you can afford stuff almost every week? If you were able to afford anything each week during the Club Nintendo days, you were rich in that case.

Considering My Nintendo Missions will be part of the NX experience, I actually cannot wait to see more.

Strange you won't get Gold coins for physical content you buy. Perhaps they are waiting for the NX launch to add physical codes? Or maybe the all digital patent is true and it's a sign that there won't be physical stuff for NX.

So I have enough coins for Wario Ware or TP Pircross. How is the latter for those who have it?

I don't know whether to spend the coins or wait it out till they cycle in some new stuff

Yess I got 10 Gold points just for paying the $2 upgrade fee to get Sin & Punishment on Wii U. :D

good thing I was too lazy to do it before :lol

I'm wondering the same thing. Probably gonna grab Picross just because it's new, but a downloadable DS game (and a good one at that) is a fun novelty.

Anyone having trouble getting a verification code? Girlfriend's trying to play Miitomo but isn't getting a verification code for her My Nintendo account.

Lol I have 250 Platinum Points. How the hell did you guys get so many?!

Check the missions page and do everything you can, like playing Miitomo, linking your Twitter and Facebook accounts, and logging in to the eShop and Miiverse.

Also, if you had a Club Nintendo account, check your email for a code for 200 points.

Also, if you ever see some coins in front of your Mii on the My Nintendo homepage, click 'em.

It is unfortunate for you but it makes long term sense. Physical games have resale value, downloads don't. This helps even things out for people who prefer digital--those people were getting screwed before.

The secret missions should be in the OP.

What I got so far are :

Brick Block than "?" Box +10
Visit Nintendo.com (weekly) +30
Coin near mii (weekly) +30

So that you could get 120 with entering eshop with a console and visiting miiverse

Oh hey I got some bonus points for something I don't know what, but that's cool. There was a coin floating on the website and I clicked it and got points or coins or whatever.

Damn! We need to keep track of all these secret missions.

Added to the OP all of the NA rewards' redeemable numbers (pretty much all are once except the Miitomo stuff for the most part) and the dates they leave the site. :)

Ok gaf, WW Touched or Picross? I love Picross and limited edition stuff, but 45 puzzles? Come on Nintendo.

There's more than that, I'll break it down.

Picross
15 puzzles, size 10x10
25 puzzles, size 15x15
5 puzzles, size 20x15

Mega Picross
15 puzzles size, 10x10
25 puzzles size, 15x15
5 puzzles size, 20x15

Micross
~58 puzzles, size 10x10

Mega Picross features mega numbers which span two columns/rows. Unfortunately this game doesn't seem to do a great job of explaining the mechanic or strategies for tackling it, but with the auto-correct feature you'll figure it out.

Micross is the mode where you reveal a large 80x80 picture by solving small 10x10 puzzles that reveal just a chunk of the picture.

As for the secret missions. I got the one of the block and the coin, but not the visiting Nintendo.com one. O_o And I've been to it numerous times. Weird.

How is WarioWare Touched compared to Twilight Princess Picross? Trying to decide what I want to spend my platinum points on.

I was a Club Nintendo member ever since the Zelda Collector's Edition GameCube disc bonus and that is the only physical game reward I can remember ever getting from them or even seeing available. Am I forgetting something or do you live outside the US or....?

Regardless, I don't turn up my nose at free games because they're digital.
