Mii characters are genderless on Nintendo Switch 2

As annoying as it is that they felt the need to change this, Nintendo historically has gone out of their way to avoid any controversial topic and political discourse. So them removing options for gender is them not picking a side, but them doing it also points out they're siding with no one, which just makes everyone annoyed.

Also, I think they did this same exact thing in Animal Crossing New Horizons. It's not a big deal. Id rather they do this than Type 1/2 A/B stuff.

Why would anyone be against this?

I mean, it's like twisting around conventional words and concepts for what exactly? Social reform of some sort? Let's just not call anything by name, or call and name everything the way we personally please, that won't confuse nobody right? It makes no sense, but people prefer words to reality, and then get up in arms as to what words should be used and how, crazy.

Because a really freaky, small sub set of nutters keep trying to say that this is normal and should be the default of society.

It's absolutely harram.
You have some people who are non-binary and some who are transgender.

They are a very small sub set of gamers, but this move makes things more inclusive for them without having any negative impact on others.

Seems like a nothing burger of little significance when there's so much more in the world to worry about.

…werent they always genderless?
Technically, yeah. But I think when you originally created a new Mii the first screen that appears asks you to choose a gender. After doing so, it just gives you the intended body by default. It seems like this process has removed the initial screen, but nothing else has changed. I guess some people are upset about the verbiage, or just that the initial screen is gone? The reaction is subjective.

Who gives a fuck. Some people are so focused on shit that doesn't matter.
The world in a nutshell today for some it seems. 🤷‍♂️

This is what i was told when MTX were starting to pollute gaming.
The difference is that the people that get upset about every single little thing are mentally ill hypocrites that complain about "the libs" but much like the people on there other side are too stupid to realize that they are simply the other side of the same coin and both act exactly the same way just about opposite ends.

My formative years were in the mid 2000s and trust me I want booth babes back, I wanna say retard in public, and I like when stuff like Stellar Blade comes out but the people crying woke every single time something isn't aimed at them is sad and exhausting.

There ain't no way yall are getting made about this for some miis.

I do think this is very funny in hindsight of that one guy who said Nintendo is an extremely conservative company and would never cast hunter Schafer in that other topic tho. I wanted to respond but I figured it wasn't worth

All of those things are something a person does to another person or groups of people.

Someone's gender and how they express their style of dress or whatever is something they are doing that only affects themselves.

Freedom of expression IS a right that should be protected, me thinks. Not everyone's gonna like or agree with how a person expresses themselves sure.

Games can still do that.
If this really isn't that big of a deal as some people in this thread are suggesting, then why would Nintendo feel the need to put this language on the Mii style selection screen? Also, notice how they used the term "specific gender" instead of stating which style would be reflected as which gender? Why do you think that is?

No one is upset about every single thing. This is just a thread informing people that they have successfully erased the gender male and gender female, again. It's not exactly nothing and people have the rights to be upset about this. If you don't like this conversation you can keep yourself out of the thread?

What you like aren't even considered likeable by many people. For example, booth babes suck and add nothing to the games that we want to play. Saying retard in public is rude. But hey if you want you can make a thread about booth babes and you won't see me trying to shutdown your conversation.

Life is too short to get upset over petty stuff like that.

It's just "Mii" avatar they can do whatever the fuck they want with it.

Life is too short to even post anything to the internet talking to strangers

it's just mii avatar we can talk whatever the fuck we want with it

Can you imagine the uproar if Nintendo said female before male in that disclaimer? Or risk upsetting feminists by placing male before female???

Switch 2 is already gonna sell worse than Wii U now because of this, they can't risk selling worse than Virtual Boy

I'm sure people said the same thing when the Oblivion horse armour dlc came out "it's just a horse armor who tf cares?!" yet here we are 20 years later with microtransaction filled stores....

Everything starts small then grows into something unstopable that damages the industry.

I'm personally not affected as it's indeed a small thing but saying people should'nt get upset just because it's just that,a small thing, isn't the right aproach.

Nintendo deserves to be laughed at and criticised for dumbass shit like this,as is every other company virtue signaling like this!!!

Why is NoA always used as the scapegoat with everything Nintendo related? This is a global change, approved by the main Japanese NCL.
NoA also has zero influence on Pokémon Go, unlike TPC, a Japanese company.

I doubt anyone at Nintendo Japan has the slightest idea of what this nonsensical nomenclature is all about.

It happens with localization, where most original creators aren't aware of the vandalization perpetrated by translators or VAs.

They've always had the same options anyway, haven't they? I'm not sure when Mii gender would even come into play.

That's your personal opinion, Nintendo Japan overseeing and approving this stuff is a fact, though.

Ok but please explain how can this specific example can be anything but woke?

You are right. It's not like this little thing escalated to the point where it has changed all media for the worse.

What are the extremes of the other side?

Acknowledging men and women is extreme now?

Shit, i'm old.
We are not old.. we are just too much normal for this collective craziness

So where are are the brown Mii's or the ones in wheel chairs on that screen?

If your going to be inclusive then why stop at just that one particular group.

I wouldn't be against that either. You can change the Mii's skin colour can't you?
