NBA 2015- 16 Regular Season IOTI - NBA GAF Is Pretty Dead Considering This Fact

As a spurs fan, i cant (nor couldnt see, even before yesterdays game) us take out the warriors with how they are playing. Every blind spurs fan is claiming "wait until the playoffs" but no. it wont be much different. In saying that, i hope that if we dont make the WCF and they get paired with the thunder that the warriors absolutely OBLITERATE that trash ass team. Cant stand them or their fans. Only like KD. Reading comments on their fan page stating garbage like "if we meet the warriors in the finals the thunder will smash them" makes my everything hurt.

Blake Griffin out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand for punching an equipment guy repeatedly outside a restaurant.

Clippers stay losing. What a dumb ass.

Sixers are winning too much

Come on I really only want Ingram or Simmons. I also have a soft spot for Dragan Bender for the name

I don't hate on Lebron for flexing his power. He's earned the right. I guess I'm just still confused about why he flexed his power. What was the disconnect with Blatt? The Cavs were good last year and they've been damn good this year, despite injuries. Isn't that what Lebron should want?

And like I've said before, if this was about being behind San Antonio and Golden State then I think firing Blatt was pretty misguided. Cleveland simply isn't as good as SA or GS. With or without Blatt.

On the surface without going into all the behind the scene motivations and insider rumblings, it seems like it's just meant to be a statement of how serious the cavs/lebron is about winning a championship.

In terms of public perception, the cavs are constantly faltering behind in the shadows of the warriors ever since the warriors took the chip. You could see the wheels turning when lebron publicly stated that the warriors were playing harder than the cavs, as if they hadn't just won a championship. So clearly the cavs/lebron have something to prove and then to lose 3 times to the two top teams in the league all in the span of a few weeks, it'd be surprising if heads didn't roll somehow especially if you have half a season left to try to right the ship.

Not that i think Lebron's personal legacy will be tarnished if another chip eludes him this year but a lot of eyebrows will probably be raised and fingers pointed if Blatt's firing doesn't result in a championship win.

The thing i find interesting is at what point do you start to apply the law of diminishing returns in regards to Lebron/cavs inability to win a chip for cleveland. Again, going off perception, the cavs have the perfect storybook ending if they win a championship this year:

-Missing lots of their starters but still make it to the finals last year
-Staying ahead of the eastern conference as the team still trys to mesh from last years injuries
-Number 1 rival and contenders have actually gotten better since last year and have swept their season series against the cavs.
-Fires Blatt to exemplify how serious cavs are about making adjustments within the season before its to late in order to clinch a championship

If the cavs can manage to overcome these issues beat the warriors and/or win a championship, it's almost a better story than if Lebron brought cleveland a championship his first year back. But if they don't I feel like it's naturally going to leave a lot of people scratching their head about what happens from here.

One thing I took away from that game is how overweight Boris Diaw looks now..... He looks like 30 lbs heavier than last season lol.

The only thing I took away from the Warriors game was that the Warriors no longer are intimidated by the Spurs. In the previous seasons, the Spurs have always dictated pace and tempo even in games where they lost against the Warriors. Monday night's game was the first time where from start to finish, the Warriors were the aggressors dictating how the game should be played. I think that in a 7 game series, this will go down to the wire with the advantage resting solely on the healthiest team/team with the most momentum in the playoffs.

brahs who here actually plays basketball? I need to get some new bball shoes, my last pair were the AdiZero Shadow, shit worked well for me, it's time to move on.

I play SF; drive to the basket a lot, enjoy posting up using sneaky movies (think boogie) and take jumpers from anywhere. you could compare my game to lebron.

I'm being serious though I need advice on shoes dudes. halp

Well what type of shoe are you looking for? And most importantly, budget? From the pic, it looks like you want a mid top and you have wide feet? Will these be strictly for indoor or both indoor/outdoor? I actually don't know why I'm responding as I don't know much about basketball shoes these days.

still my favorite basketball shoes to this day, like pillows for my feet. I had one for indoor play and another pair for the blacktop...

All I ask is that my lil mavs hang in there for tonight's game..

I like your taste! Didn't really expect to see any Death Grips fans on NeoGAF.

I think there are probably a sizable amount of them, but yeah it's sometimes hard to find them. The Money Store is fucking amazing.

Brooklyn - ready to die..

I'm disappointed

I just couldn't do it.....too many amazing rap albums from New York City and the area. So I thought it was cheating. Ha ha.

How is ready to die biggie not quintessential Brooklyn?

I mean the Bay Area has history of great rappers... 93 til infinity is a good jam but there are way more influential Bay Area rappers than souls of mischief.

Mavs caught us on an off night only fair to return the favor..

Goddamnit I just jinxed the dubs tonight
. Look on the bright side, should you beat us tonight, you snap our 38 game home court win streak

I get so tired of this fouling shit. That same commentator who gets so pissed off by this intentional fouling is going on a rant again in this Rockets game. Someone was fouled while out of bounds trying to inbound the ball. The other commentator said, "'next they'll foul Howard on the bench." Lmao

Van Gundy is going in on this hacking.

I think people will simply stop watching because this is no longer a game. It's totally out of control. And fouling Capela before inbounding? That should NEVER count as a possession.

I'm just going to not watch any game as long as this hack a whoever persists.

Wait you can foul them before they inbound the ball? Why don't more teams do this?

This is news to me. I always thought the ball had to be inbounded.

I hate this hacking shit.

I'm not a Rockets fan, but I wish every team that played them would lose if they employ this hacking shit - even the Spurs who I really like.

Apparently you can run out of bounds to foul an inbounder. I have no clue what's going on anymore.

And I'm not absolving the Rockets from this either. They were doing the exact same thing against Detroit. Believe it or not, I wanted them to lose for employing that strategy.

Rockets can't even cut it close when the Spurs don't even have Duncan for this game. What a joke if they don't make any moves before the deadline.

To be fair this is a pissed off Spurs team. The look on Parker and Aldridge's face from the beginning of the game kind of spelled out how this was going to go.

Spurs playing hard for that meaningless-once-you-get-beyond-ten point differential stat again I see. Some of the stat-heads have lost the forest for the trees.

Guess it beats just standing around and letting the other team score points for the next five minutes just to make it interesting?

The Spurs are still undefeated at home right. Impressive along with Golden State in that regard.

Wonder which team loses at home first. Either way this is going to be 1-2 WCF most likely but KD and Westbrook can have something to say about that.

Yes by all means...carry on...their reserves are just far better than what other teams throw out there.

I said it last year as well - looking at average point differential beyond a certain point is meaningless (my guess is around 10).

Celtics finally playing D again. Too bad they lack talent to make a real splash. Stupid Kings have to competitive in a garbage West. They would have been in the Boogie sweepstakes :(
