Someone get the NFL license from EA and give it back to 2K. Damn.
My name is Latvian Hitman, and I support this post.

There's one thing that 2K has over Live (and Madden and NHL and maybe Fifa) is face capturing.
It just seems they capture more faces whereas in Live and NHL, EA tends to go with generic faces for a lot of players because they don't have the resources (time/money) to do photo sessions or scans.
Even homecourt?
Never played Homecourt personally.Even homecourt?
These games have always had animation priority in order to make it look like real basketball. It comes with the package. Understandably, some people don't like it. It's there to create a realistic looking sim experience, even if it takes some of the direct control away from you.
you're obviously blind..the assets, animations, and lighting are all way ahead of EA's "efforts".
IMO 2K presentation is better also. I still have fond memories of NFL2K5 halftime show with actual highlights of the games that were played
One thing that bothered me is Dwyane Wade looks way off. (He's my favorite player so I was looking for him)

Rest of the game looks amazing at least.![]()
I happen to think the animations look great. Sure it's janky sometimes. For a long time player of the series, it's almost part of it's charm. But it doesn't even look realistic outside of long animations. Even in their trailers they only choose the longest canned animations. Their solution to patching the many oddities of their animation system is to just capture more random animations.
so much wrong in so little words
You're really going to jump down my throat because I didn't happen to praise everything and instead choose to praise only one thing?
I only play NHL, but that's one thing I really want, is proper faces.
Impressed beyond belief. Now fucking show court side view already...

There are definitely two camps when it comes to the way 2K does their animations. You either can't stand them, or you think it's one of the reasons the series is great. It's 100 percent reasonable to dislike the way they go about animations. It's not for everyone and is getting a bit long in the tooth. They'll need to address it at some point. But for now, as an NBA enthusiast, these games tickle my basketball sim itch in just the right way.
HQ-ish version:

110 MB, not the highest bitrate but still better than youtube![]()
Played from 2K to 2K5, took a break and have been playing them again since 2K9. Sure, there are some things that annoy the shit out of me (terrible menu design, poor online code, hilariously bad coach models), the animation has never been one of those things.I used to feel the exact same way for years. It will get to ya eventually.

Also, BRING BACK NCAA BASKETBALL WITH THIS TECH.
i only said that because i thought you implied that face capturing is the only thing 2K has over Live and EA's other games. But really, just about everything is better about 2K.
This should definitely be in the OP. 2K has its flaws but it knows how to look good. Getting this and shadowfall SP on the same day(sorta) is too much.
Probably the highest quality animation I've seen in a game.
Someone should tell EA to make baseball games again. MVP never failed.
Updated the OP with a link to blims version.
looks great but why is it that defenders in the paint often seem to drift back? it's like there is no collision detection. look at kobe dunking on rose. rose starts his "block attempt" from a little out in front of the rim, but then he ends up out of bounds on the block attempt. this has been a staple of 2k and really bugs the shit out of me. there should have been a mid-air collision or kobe just going over him with contact, not the player magically drifting 4 or 5 feet backwards to avoid contact.
graphics look incredible though. what a fucking joke EA has been so far. i wish EA and/or 2k could make a competent baseball game so sony would actually have to try. i like the show but i feel like it hasn't improved much over the years.
i also wish all sports games had a setup as good as maddens CCM. EA sucks balls at a lot of things but they absolutely nailed this feature as opposed to 2k whose online leagues always have some shitty bug or don't work properly
So...whos making it? Tiburon? EA Canada? Because all the guys who made MVP 2005 aren't walking through that door.

Defenders usually drift back in real life because they rather give up a dunk than an AND1. That and they don't want to get posterized.
It happens all the time in basketball.
have they said when we will get gameplay footage?
NBA Live doesnt look too bad, based on the latest trailer, but yeah 2k is a league of its own
