I decided to pick up NBA 2K26 on the Nintendo Switch 2. I'm not sure about the framerate yet—my guess is 30 FPS—but we'll need official confirmation. That said, I really like the streamlined shooting mechanic. It feels more arcadey compared to the last 2K I played, which was NBA 2K19, and I already enjoy it a lot more. Honestly, it gives me vibes of NBA 2K11, the classic Jordan game on Xbox 360 and PS3.
That said, I've never seen more confusion around a system than with the Switch 2. Even the official Nintendo eShop page for this version listed the wrong download size at first! For the record, the install is around 73GB, and just like Madden, it needs to go on the NS2's internal storage—not the microSD Express cart.
One thing that really stands out is 2K's aggressive onboarding. The very first time you boot the game, you're immediately asked for your date of birth, email address, and to accept their policies before you can even touch the main menu. It feels pushy and kind of sets a corporate tone before you even get to the fun.
On the visual side, the modern teams look fantastic, though the historical teams aren't quite on the same level. Gameplay itself is faster and more arcadey, almost threading the needle between NBA 2K and NBA Live.
This is just my impressions 45 minutes into the game. Please post your impressions and thoughts below.
