Look if my option was a sack of shit run Nets team and Billy King run Nets team, I'd rake the sack of shit in a heartbeat

There's ways to win without leveraging your future, especially when you leverage that future really poorly

They've gone to b2b Finals with more coming. What have they lost exactly? With a rising cap coming as well?

I don't like LeBron.....but why choose 4 lol. I mean the dude has been to what..7 finals straight, of course if they lossed by 20+ in any of the game those series he would be the one that it comes at the expense of. Kind of a stupid picture tbh lol

No, it said he's been on the losing side of the last four 20+ point losses in the Finals, not the last four 20+ point losses of LeBron-led teams. He's been in six straight Finals now. He could have been on the winning side of a blowout Finals game too, theoretically.

I believe I said the Warriors...I didn't mention individual players for a reason. The Warriors, are a buzzsaw. It isn't just 1 or 2 superstars that kill you, as evidenced by these first 2 games. They come at you in swarms and when you plug one hole, there are several others that do you in.

You may be into simply making the Finals for your team but I am pretty sure just getting to the Finals and losing over and over is not what LeBron wanted. Pretty sure he wants to win.

They'll win a ring when they are better than the team across from them.

For LeBron, he has two. Many blessings and thanks for those two. If you can't get more so be it. Most retire with none.

Jarate, why do you keep arguing either or with Love/Wiggins when they could have had BOTH with a little patience. I mean, for ffs, LeBron even said in his SI announcement of coming back to The Land that it would take time for them to learn to be a team that could challenge for a championship...and then proceeds not to be patient himself.

“Those guys are allowed to take any shots they want,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “That’s the rule. Steph and Klay can, but nobody else. I trust their judgment, but the minute I start complaining about bad shots, all I have to do is think: ‘Oh, yeah, Oklahoma City in Game 6, Klay took five bad shots that helped us win.’

“Bad shots for those guys are a different definition from anybody else.”

So Cavs did everything in their power to please LeBron in his first stint with the team. While doing so the team got older, and LeBron left. Now they traded away Wiggins for Love, because GM LeBron said so. Love is not a bad player by any means, but maybe not the greatest fit and the age thing is an issue. Just a terrible trade in every way possible.

But hey, they play in a horrible conference where the best team might be the 5th best in the West, so I'm sure he gets to the Finals a few more times. And if he doesn't he changes teams again.

In the long term, they would've been better with Wiggins, in the short term they would be better then the Raptors

this isn't too say they couldnt reach the finals with a Lebron, Kyrie, and Wiggins.

Age thing? Love is 27.

Do you think James would have come back to Cleveland and spent 3 years in his prime on a sub-500 team while they were rebuilding?

LeBron carried D-league bench warmers to deep runs in the playoffs and even an NBA finals.

and you think they would be sub 500 in the fuckin east? when toronto won 56 games and were 2 games away from the nba finals?

You're doing it again. If they waited till Love made it to FA, they have: LeBron, Kyrie, Wiggins and Love in 2015-16.

Yes, they might have made the Finals last year but you didn't have Love for the Finals anyway so...yeah, maybe Wiggins gets a taste of the Finals and develops more over this past season once Love arrives.

woluld they have the cap space to sign Love to a pure FA deal with a max contract with Kyrie and Lebron on the books?

Gilbert is already WAAAAAY over the cap so, I would suppose they would make it work?

The only way I could see them making it work would be a sign and trade where they'd hjave to add in something valuable tp pull it off, and even then, I don't see the cavs having the cap space to do it, they'd have to trade 20-25 mil of player salary, and the only player of worth to have that cap spcae would probably be irving

Cavs would be wise to try and swing a deal for Love and Kyrie this offseason.

Boston had rumored interest in Love. Maybe swing a multi-team deal with Boston and bring back some guys a team(s) trying to rebuild will part with for some of Boston's first rounders.

Kyrie is a bit tougher but a few teams are surprisingly PG starved and he could fetch some more players that fit better with Lebron.

If Lebron is really committed maybe he takes a paycut to make a swing at one or two major FA's.

Otherwise, this core just needs to hope for injuries to major western powerhouses at the perfect time because I don't see this core beating the West any time soon.

Lebron and Durant together.

Chalmers should be in the picture.

If I were a Cavs fan I would honestly consider and want that offer.

But I have a pretty low opinion of Kyrie from a team perspective. The Jazz are one of the few teams I could see him working on though.
It's really not a bad trade. But the masses would never go for it. No one knows who Hayward is and wouldn't care that he's a way better fit for that team.

Cavs paying 49M for 2 guys who only play offense and a guy that rebounds good. 20M over the luxury tax to get 4-0'd or gentleman swept.

Their whole roster is hilariously one-dimensional on an individual basis.

Irving: Offense, no defense
Love: Offense, no defense
Thompson: Defense, no offense
JR Smith: Fuck it threes, no defense
Deli: Defense, no offense
Frye: Offense, no defense
Shumpert: Defense, no offense
Jefferson: Surprisingly balanced but too old for this shit

It really is crazy how ugly that roster looks. It's hard to win with that type of roster in this age of basketball and frankly I think Lue has proven he really isnt the guy who can do it.

The raw talent will get them far but once they face well coached, complete teams, they are going to continue getting exposed IMO.

Its the same thing the Cavs have been since Lebron got there in 2003.

A lottery team + Lebron James

The Cavs are 2-13 over the past 2 seasons when Lebron doesn't play which is ridiculous.

well that's the team the King wanted. He chose Kyrie, traded for Love and then traded for the rest, got his decent coach fired and replaced with an unexperienced first time coach who is clearly way out of his league and then he and made them pay everyone handsomely.

This one is 100% on LeBron.

Cleveland's problem is outside of Lebron and maybe Delly they have no 2 way players at all. Who else on that roster is good on one side of the ball and not terrible on the other?

You know. I hope the West comes back looking the same. I want CP3 to have one more fully healthy playoff run with his guys (though LAC can upgrade bench). I want Duncan to play one more year even as the sage veteran for the Spurs (though they can get more athletic). And I want to see OKC stay together and see this out.

Its all too good of basketball, and its hard to credit what consistency and moving in the right direction can do. An '08 Boston Celtics level of cohesive play doesnt happen that often, when swapping players around. And even them were pushed to 7-game series in their first title run

Oh. But Cleveland and Lebron can do whatever the fuck they want.

I hate teams that only play one or the other. It drives me insane.

It's one of the reasons Steve Nash was so fucking overrated. You can't win championships, no matter how good your offense is, if your defense is complete garbage

Three team trade

Cavs get melo
Celtics get love
Knicks get #3 pick + Celtics players

These dumb trade scenarios only happen if they get swept
I think LeBron signs 1 year deals the rest of his career going forward

He'll only leave if they don't make the finals in the shitty east

From May:

"LeBron is letting the game come to him," Lue said after practice Saturday. "When he wants to be aggressive and he sees fit to be aggressive when the teams have a good run or whatever they may have, then he just takes over the game ... And with Kyrie (Irving) and Kevin (Love) playing at a high level, he can take a lot of mileage off of his body, reduce his (usage) rate and just kind of seeing and figuring out the flow of the game."

"I don't think he's been in this position before where he can just sit back and see the flow of the game, see where he has to take over the game and it's been great for him," said Lue. "I mean, to average 23 points or 24 points and sweep both series is big for us because now our other guys are stepping up, they're playing well and we know LeBron always can play well."

My what a difference playing a real challenge makes

How the fuck is this the same team that almost beat the Warriors last year?

Simple. Last year the Cavs were lucky to have both Kyrie and Love injured. It forced them to play slow and grind it out.

This year they're healthy and think that they can play the Warrrios head on. Big mistake.

Except neither curry nor klay have scored 20 points so far.

Curry and Klay may beestablishing themselves as the #1 and #2 shooters of all time, but they're not killing the cavs this series, so far.

No may be from where I'm sitting even as a biased warriors supporter. There's just too much evidence now, I mean I get that we don't prematurely crown people but projecting current evidence out even for a few more years based on this form, I'm convinced they are number 1 and 2.

For Klay,
1. Highest 3pt makes in a season for someone not named Steph.
2. 37 point quarter including 13-13 and 9-9 threes. Still the single craziest shooting I've ever seen.
3. Highest playoff 3 pt makes in a game with 11.
4. 3 Pt all star winner.
5. 45% three point shooter.

For Steph,
1. Quickest off the dribble shooter in the game.
2. Highest 3pt makes in a season, 3 times and counting.
3. Amazing true shooting percentages (I'm on mobile someone check that up)
4. 3 pt all star winner
5. 50-90-45 club in a year where he won the scoring title.

JR Smith as long as he's not playing in the Finals. He pulled the same disappearing act last year.

Doesn't know that "You" is used in both the singular and plural
Cavs are not a team.

Lebron + Delly are a tram. I don't know who Love, Irving and Smith are playing for.

How the hell do the Cavs not catch 90% of all rebounds? The warriors look like children around them.

Did we confirm Rambis is still alive? One of his last posts was early in the game declaring Warriors were not really that much better than the Cavs

LeRambis is getting ready for game 3. Right now though, scouting for "coaches" and chumps to grab in the off season.
