Reading posts here I get the sense a portion of Gaf blames Lebron.

He hustled like crazy for 3 quarters. He guarding, stealing, driving, creating. He was great.

No one on the Cavs team was doing much of anything after Love left. There is a serious problem with that team.

Great from Lebron would be matching the stats that he put up in the finals last year. The man averaged 36 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists per game. I cannot understand for the life of me why he's being so passive when that method seemed to work so much better in 2015. If he's supposed to be an all-time great, he should be taking over these games. I have a feeling that's going to happen in games 3 and 4 because nothing else has worked.

LeBron feels like he has to validate the fact that he squaded up with Love and Kyrie.

Last year, he didn't have them and thus a reason to go straight hulk mode and as ball dominant as ever. He was amazing in the last finals series.

Too bad Kyrie and Love are shrinking in the bright lights. D-Wade and Bosh they ain't.

GAF has always hated LeBron. Don't think much of it. He deserves some of the blame for his GMing, but everyone is playing like hot garbage, especially JR. He's totally shook just like last year.
LeBron used to have as many defenders as haters here, if not more. Those of us who've been on the hate train for years know this to be true.

He's just steadily lost support since he hasn't been winning. Losing has made people less tolerant of some of the shit he's pulled. Plus Steph and the Warriors have taken his headlines. He's not the undisputed best player in the league anymore. The bandwagon is almost dead.

Never want to wish injury on a guy, but Love being out next game may actually favor the Cavs. I don't think they lose all that much on offense replacing him with Frye, but they can gain quite a bit on the defensive end. Frye is hardly a defensive juggernaut, but his length and athleticism can at least get him to recover and contest shots. The Warriors are having their way and Frye alone probably isn't enough to change that, but at least it should help a little.

I think Lebron gets a good chunk of the blame because this is a team he essentially built. It's his players and his coach. I really don't have too much of an issue with the personnel, but more an issue with how terrible they are on team defense. It's a clown show out there. Maybe a full year with Lue will make a difference for next year's team, but so far they've regressed quite a bit.

-The East is garbage. Let's just be real - you can talk all you want about 2-8 - but the playoffs are about stars and how they make their teams better. The East has no players with playoff gall besides Wade and Paul George. Full of regular season teams. The top 1-15 players in the league have 13 coming from the west. This is the most shining example of coasting through playoffs and meeting a juggernaut and being shell-shocked. The Warriors were primed by the Thunder perfectly.
The East isn't garbage. It had better teams than the West this year, but it just so happens that there were two historically transcendent teams in the West with a third team on the cusp of greatness. The league was extremely top heavy with everyone knowing that the Western Conference Finals was going to decide the championship. It's not an indictment on the East so much as it is an indictment on the entire league for failing to provide a proper challenge to those two teams.

Did you watch the First Round in the West this year? It was a joke. And the second round was a foregone conclusion for the Dubs. Anyone thinking Portland was a threat was seriously deluding themselves when Portland needed Chris Paul and Blake Griffin to go out just to win a few games.

He wasn't great but was ok. Problem was everyone else was garbage. He had 8 TOs in this game. Irving & Love have been really bad.

Please stop. East has awful basketball. Blazers play better ball than every team not named Cavs in the East. I didn't know OT and game 7s could be as awful quality wise until I saw Toronto's run this year. Clippers would wreck house in that conference other than Cavs. East is trash.

I don't want to overreact to 2 home blowouts, but the Cavs defensively have looked exactly like I thought they would.

Not sure where how this magic defense switch will be flipped, but will be interesting to see what they try.

This is why I've started to hate the warriors (but not enough to root for Cleveland). They basically don't have to play smart and can take a shot whenever. It's almost like cheating lol

But they mostly do play smart. They're kind of careless with lazy passes sometimes, but overall their passing and screening works to get good shots. It's definitely true that they have great bailout shooters when they can't really get open, though.

I just posted this on facebook and had an Ohio friend unfriend me.... LOL. The salt is real

They remind me of that image macro that was going around "WHO NEEDS GOOD GRADES WHEN YOU GOT SWAG?"

Replace "grades" with "shot selections" and that's The Golden State Warriors when shit gets tough.

The difference though is that when the game is tight, they trust their gameplan and each other even more. Whereas with other teams, it's the opposite.

In terms of playoff teams this year I'd say the tiers are:

Great:
Warriors
OKC
Spurs

Good:
Clippers (when healthy)
Cavs
Raptors

Okay:
Heat
Portland
Hawks
Celtics
Hornets
Pacers
Pistons

Bottom tier:
Mavs
Grizzlies
Rockets

While last year it was:

Great:
Warriors

Good:
Clippers
Rockets
Portland
Memphis
Spurs
Hawks
Cavs
Bulls

Okay:
Raptors
Mavs
Pelicans
Wizards

Bottom tier:
Bucks
Celtics
Nets

So there's a lot more okay teams, particularly in the East, but not as many good teams. Seems like all the "good teams" got eaten up by an eastern conference becoming more balanced and there being more "great" teams in the west. I'd say the East is better than last year and overall both conferences are more balanced, but the great teams in the West just outclass anything the East has to offer.

-The Warriors still haven't even played that well. They have literally been turning it on in spurts and that's been more than enough. They could never do that in the OKC series.
This is the most heartbreaking thing if you're a Cavs fan. Cavs out here looking like Goku when was getting his ass whooped by 50% Frieza. Warriors look like they weren't even giving 50% effort yet are still laying an epic beatdown.

Is it too late to move my wolves to the east? I would love to see how far they could get next year... the west is just so tough to crack.

The Blazers, the West's 5th seed, were exactly .500 against the east this year, so you're definitively wrong.

The West definitely had the better peak teams, but the East was deeper this year overall. This narrative ended this year for those of you paying attention - it's just that the West had two historically great teams and a third very good team who peaked at the right time.

Crazily enough I think you all are about 1-2 years away from serious contender status. Even in the West.

You all are the best up and coming team I have seen since OKC.

Hall of Fame coach, 2 budding allstar/superstars, a great emerging shooter in Lavine with defensive potential, plenty of cap space, a chance to get another cornerstone like Kris Dunn and a decent trade asset in Rubio if you go that route.

You all are quickly becoming my second favorite team.

Sounds like Curry will be skipping the Rio Olympics. Bummer.

Not surprised. As a Warriors fan even though you want to see him play it's good news.

Wonder who else follows suit. Davis and Paul already out. This will probably be the weakest Olympic team in awhile, although it might be a fun passing of the torch for some guys.

I'd say the clippers are also good, probably as good as the raptors or cavs, its just that the bottom four in the West are outmatched by the bottom four in the East. Mainly due to the mavs/rockets/portland collapsing and Memphis getting injured.

So to me the West top 4 >>>> East top 4, while the East bottom 4 >>>> West bottom 4, which makes them about even.

A healthy Clippers and Grizz team could take the Cavs. I wouldn't be surprised if the Blazers gave them a run for their money, too.

Indeed they are a team to watch I really hope Wiggins takes the next step.

I severely underestimated GSW because of what happened in the WCF. I forgot that in this league it's all about matchups and in here Cleveland doesn't stack up well against the Warriors

No jinx I truly believe Curry and his crew will repeat

The way I see it, the West has more Championship-ready teams but that West Conference was also laughably top-heavy. The only reason all the first round series didn't end in like 5 or less games was because of the injuries Golden State and the Clippers had.

With Portland getting better, Memphis hopefully not being injured, and the clippers/OKC staying consistent, I'd imagine the West will rebound next year and we could potentially see 4 50 win teams instead of just 2 like this year.

It's certainly possible, but the Grizzlies, Clippers and obviously Thunder have huge questions to face in the offseason. Grizzlies in particular might be due for a blow-up.

Yeah so there's also the possibility of the West being even more top heavy next year. Will be interesting to see how it plays out
