I think Kelly deserves that contract. It's good in a vacuum.

That being said, I absolutely hate what Miami has done the last couple years. Blessed with a ton of FA space, they have given huge 4+ years to middle of the road, replaceable players or questionably dedicated players like Waiters, Whiteside, Kelly, Tyler Johnson, and James Johnson. None of terrible in a vacuum (except for the two Johnsons, arguably), but I feel pretty confident they'll be looking to get off of these deals in a year or two. Paying middling players big, long-term money kills franchises.

What're you gonna do when Ainge puts Riley under his boot, though?

Lonzo is banged up and hasn't played basketball since the tournament. The Lakers haven't had him practice against players either. Ingram also tweaked his ankle apparently.

That's a lot of money to tie up on 3 guys, Miami is riding that treadmill for the foreseeable future.

I guess they believe the 30-11 record during the second half of last season is sustainable. I don't see it, especially considering Winslow is a tough fit for their offense with his lack of shooting. I also don't see Olynyk as anything close to a difference maker. If he's a teams 4th big man, he's fine. If he's a starter, he's simply not good enough.

Can't wait to watch vinsanity to dunk!....in warmups....maybe.

I like the signing, cool that he doesn't care to chase a ring.

Dirk should sign with GSW for the minimum, not like Cuban will pay him any more. C'mon baby, all on board.

Lol Stevens played a huge part in getting the Celtics Hayward.

Heat played really well when they were all healthy last year, and while I don't agree with the Johnson contract, I think it's worth a shot to see what the team can do.

I feel like it almost doesn't matter anyway as nobody is going to stop the Warriors anytime soon.

Incredibly Naive
There's that Tatum volume shooter efficiency. 12 pts on 12 shots. I agree he can get 20+ a night some day, but it'll take at the very least 17+ to do so.

I reported last week Knicks had received calls regarding Lee and they can move him if they need too.

The preliminary talks had Anderson going to Portland but not sure they are ok with that yet. It's a fluid situation.

Good luck. Our (Blazers) GM is notorious for moving slow and nibbling at the edges. Sigh.

I guess it comes down to whether you really buy into that stretch at the end of the season. They still missed the playoffs. I don't like the combination of mid-range talent and personalities on that team, though I do believe in Spoelstra.

I agree about the Warriors shadow, which is why I think it's exactly the wrong move to lock yourself into long-term, high-money deals for middling talent. I would've guessed that the Heat strategy would've been keeping cap space open for next year.

It wasn't just the end of the season. 30-11 is more than half the season. Yes, teams have started really hot and then later cooled off, but still, that's well out of fluke territory.

THJr getting paid more than Dion Waiters? What??? I would've thought that Waiters would've set the price for him.

Oh well, moving on. Not worth it to match. That's way too much for him at this point in the rebuild.

Edit: that fucking Hawks development tax. First DeMarre, then Bazemore, don't make that mistake again Hawks!

Man I remember when everyone thought the Knicks ripped the Hawks off 2 years ago when they traded him for a late 1st round pick... and now they're somehow making a worse mistake by bringing him back.
