Shaquille O'Neal took out a full page ad in Tuesday's Miami Herald. The text:

"When I talk about my "new team" in Miami I am including you, the fans. The love you have shown since it was announced that I was coming to Miami has been amazing, and it will not go unrewarded. Keep up that kind of support, and we might be printing invitations to a parade in June. D. Wade, Eddie, Dolie, Malik, Jerome, Udonis, Wang and Dorrell: The business begins. Together, we can bring the trophy to South Beach. Meet me at the gym ... "

LOL!

PHILADELPHIA -- Point guard Eric Snow was traded by the 76ers to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday for guards Kevin Ollie and Kedrick Brown. This will be Ollie's third stint with Philadelphia.

That's a great trade for the Cavs. Two mediocre guards for a legit good PG? Impressive.

Also, the Kings apparently signed Greg Ostertag.

although clevand got the better player in the deal this helps the sixers with some cap room as snow was signed to a huge deal. next up should be robinson.

What the shit! haha.

Well at least he won't have to get owned by shaq 4 times a year.

[edit: yeah he is apparently signing tomorrow]

Seriously, has anyone been on more posters then Greg Ostertag? I doubt even Michael Jordan could compete with him. Heh, gotta think T-Mac will be throwing his ass on the highlights reels four times a year.

He will be on the fastest selling poster too if Yao decides to posterize him. heh

If they get to a couple finals or two it might be worth it...win a title or two and it's defintely worth it. But fail to do either, and I'd consider it a mistake, unless Miami is willing to go way over the cap (and based on the obscene contracts for Eddie Jones and Brian Grant, I guess they are).

Well, I'll guess I'll chime in with my early seeding predictions for each conference. If you don't like them, I don't care.

WEST:

1. Minnesota
2. Sacramento
3. Houston
4. SA Spurs
5. LA Lakers
6. Denver
7. Seattle
8. Dallas

EAST:

1. Miami
2. Detroit
3. Indiana
4. Shit, I dunno..
5. New Jersey
6. Cleveland
7. Philadelphia
8. Boston

Well, he's on my ignore list, so thankfully I'm not privy to his posts. Damn, I forgot about NO moving west...

Actually, I think he was calling you an idiot because you had Seattle in the playoffs (since he bolded Seattle) and that you have Dallas too high (since he had Dallas bolded also).

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

The gym? I hope he means the arena because Shaq hasn't hit the gym in the off-season for the past 4 years.

I really wish Shaq the best but I can understand Kobe's frustration with the guy. Year after year, he comes into camp overweight and out of shape. If Shaq would have done his business in the off-season to stay in shape, we Laker fans would be looking at a 5-peat right now.

I don't know whats worse... Ostertag being our big offseason pickup or having Ripclawe make a visit in NBA thread to make it burn more.

Now that I'm not so pissed and dejected from the Laker Meltdown and the resulting apocolypse, I think that if Malone comes back and stays healthy, the Lakers would have a decent core and could be one of the top teams in the west. I see Kobe and Payton in the backcourt, Odom and Malone up front and Vlade in the middle flopping around and beign able to make freethrows. With Grant and Butler coming off the bench, Rush, George, Walton and Cook playing backup minutes, things don't look so bad anymore. That's if Payton actaully isn't shot and does better with a more wide-open, running offense and there's no major injuries. The one area they might need to address is abackup point, but Kobe and Odom could always play that. Sacramento is older and hasn't gotten an better, Seattle hasn't made any movesm Pheonix and the Clippers are Phoenix and the Clippers, Utah has improved as has Denver. Minnesota #1 especially if they manage to keep Troy Hudson and their other key free agents, the Spurs haven't made any moves but are still probably #2 with #3 being a toss up between LA, Sacto and Huston, possibly even Denver. I think lossing Nash hurt Dallas quite a bit. So here's my early seedings for the west:

1. Minnesota
2. Spurs
3. LA Lakers
4. Sacramento
5. Houston
6. Dallas
7. Denver
8. Memphis
--
9. Phoenix

3-6 is going to be really close I think, hard to say who is better right now with free agency still going on. Utah and Seattle could aslo be in the mix. I like Phoenix's chances, but I put Memphis ahead because they got to the playoffs last year and got better in free agency and the draft as well (plus they have Jerry West, greatest Exec. ever).

I'm sorry, but your NBA is in another castle ;P

Spurs got Barry, and resigned Ginobili. Two fantastic moves for them, especially in signing Barry.

So far, it's shaping up that either Pistons or Spurs are gonna win it all. I don't know what's up with people picking Sacramento OVER Minnesota and Denver. Minnesota will only improve with the big three getting more familiar with each other and Denver coming on it's own. The Lakers will be a great team but won't be a contender. Pistons has just become even more solid with the signings of Sheed and can't remember that other big guy. =\ But yeah I can finally admit they are better than the Pacers.

I'd forgotten about Barry. Ginobili doesn't make them better, they had him last year so it keeps them at the same level. I'm not sold on Barry. He's a dead shooter when he's on, I just don't know if he's going to be the impact guy for the Spurs. Tukoglu was supposed to be impact, but he never worked out the way they wanted. Barry could be different. Even then I had them at #2. :p

West:

1) Spurs (EASILY....everyone else got worse)
2) Minnesota
3) Houston
4) Sacramento (this is still the regular season so they will still be good)
5) Denver
6) Dallas (just a terrible off-season)
7) Utah
8) LA Lakers (unless Malone comes back, then they move up one or two)

(note: Portland and Memphis could easily take the 8th spot...maybe even New Orleans and the Suns...what a loaded conference)

East:

1) Detroit
2) Indiana
3) Miami
4) New Jersey (HUGE drop)
5) Bucks
6) New York
7) Boston (their rookies have major potential...especially the high schooler)
8) Cleveland (Lebron: MVP candidate)

PS: I wouldn't call LeBron an MVP candidate just yet, Bat. Let's see how many games that team can win without their MVP for last year...

I meant that if they do get into the playoffs, that is what he has to become.

And calling Boozer their MVP last year is absolutely laughable. Nice player, but let's not kid ourselves...

Booze played the hard nosed d while putting up decent points and grabbing crazy boards. He was the MVP of that team IMO. Bron is a nice player but let's not kid ourselves :p

It's hilarious that you can say Boozer was the MVP of the Cavs last year while dismissing the ridiculous impact Lebron had almost immediately, while at the same time acting as if Kobe carried Shaq's size 18's the last eight years. Only in Cloudy's world.
