It's hilarious that you can say Boozer was the MVP of the Cavs last year while dismissing the ridiculous impact Lebron had almost immediately, while at the same time acting as if Kobe carried Shaq's size 18's the last eight years. Only in Cloudy's world.

Don't bother with his basketball input. It just burns brain cells. Booz was a great player for the Cavs, but to think that they would be in the same position without Bron is just plain stupid. It's not worth arguing with Cloudy over.

edit: Lonestar's just about as bad. What a tool.

Seattle's a good team!

I am from Seattle...lived there 26 years and will also be a Seattle fan... but they are not a good team... they didn't make any off season moves and lost Barry... so they got worse than they were last year... which of course was bad...

He's a tool, ban him before it gets worse, which it will.

Dana Jacobson is damn cute btw, but I'd prefer to fuck sweet young Rachel /can't remember her last name but she's a redhead. ESPN has some cuties working under their radar this year, hope they get more airtime soon.

Bron had an immediate impact but Booze was the MVP. Just like Shaq had his usual impact but Kobe carried that team all season (they couldn't even beat fucking Atlanta w/o Kobe lol!!!).

I just don't think he's as good as everyone claims. All things considered, I don't even think he's better than Melo (at least not this past season) and undeserved hype irritates me...

Well you are entitled to your opinion no matter how crazy it is. Melo is a great player no doubt and does some things better then Bron, but he doesn't have to carry his franchise and he didn't have to deal with that kind of pressure either. The only flaws I see in Bron's game is his shooting (which will improve) and his defense. Considering he is only 19 he has a long time to improve on both aspects of his game and his entire game will improve over time.

Like I said, all things considered, I don't even think he's better than Melo (at least not this past season). And Melo played in the West...

PS: It's not like Melo won't improve as well. Hype aside, any objective fan could see that Melo was the better player last season....

Offensively I would agree that Melo is a better scorer right now, but that is all Melo can do is jack up shots and I think that Bron will be a better scorer in a few more year. I have to give everything else to Bron, though they are both equally bad on defense, but they are only teens so they should get much better.

Dude what do you have against Lebron? After his first season I can't see a lot that you can criticize about the kid.

it's too soon for him to have Kobe upstaged.

Unlike the MJ fans, I welcome competition for my favorite player. I just don't like how Melo keeps getting short-changed. Oh well, it'll be fun to see Kobe bust both their asses this season :)

PS: Anyone mentioning Bron in the same sentence as Kobe or even Tmac, Pierce or Vince right now is truly delusional...

Shaq during his press conference in Miami: "I've never had the opportunity to play with a special guard." Where the fuck is the rolleyes when you need it? People still want to blame Kobe for everything of course, ignoring the fact that if Shaq says this kind of shit in public, imagine the type of stuff that he spewed behind closed doors. You can argue that he's still dominant, or still a great player, and hell, he's a funny guy, but the simple fact remains that he's an immature asshole, who is now bitter. Maybe iif the sportswriters could get off his dick for 2 seconds and stop blaming Kobe for everything short of 9/11, they would see that.

Doesn't make him any less of an asshole. If Kobe Bryant had said "i've never played with a dominant bigman", the dickweeds like Tom Friend and Plashke would have been crucifiying him as we speak. Hell, they already did everything short of call him the devil for "forcing" out Shaq and Phil (despite the fact that both he and Jerry Buss, and Mitch Kupchak have denied this, but fuck journalistic integrity when we wanna try and ruin three men's reps by calling them liars on a whim. Where is the rolleyes for fucksake. Even Shaq didn't say kobe forced him out ffs). Shaq gets a free ride because he's a funny guy, who has always been accesible to the media and easy to get along with, and i won't deny that. Kobe is much more calculating and reserved and on many occasions doesn't give the media the time of day. All im saying is i'd just like to see these media pricks for once, give their opinions on the basketball issues of this trade, rather than getting all political about it. None of these fucks addresses the fact that 1)Shaq ASKED to be trade, 2)Shaq has a fucking gigantic contract, 3)Shaq makes unreasonable demands 4) Shaq was constantly disprescting the OWNER and gm of the team he works for all season long. Yeah, lets just let that stuff slide cause Shaq makes us laugh, and dogpile on Kobe Bryant because he doesn't stroke our cocks enough.

Dude you are getting upset over sports writers? These guys are the biggest asshats of the planet. And most of them have no spine either, they won't criticize a guy when he is winning and popular, but the haters will collapse on someone the minute they start to lose. Sports writers are idiots and getting upset over them is a waste of time.

i just don't understand why people take their word like gospel. Less with Kobe, and more with a guy like Jerry Buss. This guy has been one of the classiest owners in ALL of sports in the last 25 years, and they just dismiss what he says and calls him a liar. Its just how non-chalantly they dismiss ANY possiblity that Buss, Kobe and Mitch could **gasp** BE TELLING THE TRUTH?!? And maybe its Shaq, the guy that falsely claimed to have sex with Venus WIlliams and Cindy Crawford for absolutely NO fucking reason, that could be the one full of shit on this issue?

OSTERTAG!??!?!?!

The Kings are dead to me. WTF happened to Petrie?

Depending on how much they're going to pay him, it's not that bad of a pick-up. If they're going to spend money, they'd be much better off spending it elsewhere.

Ostertag is only worth his weight on the floor when he doesn't get called for fouls. The Kings are not in the glitter of the eyes of many refs. This is not a good combination. Might as well bring Duane Causwell back.

While not earth moving... get Ostertag isn't a real bad move on the Kings' part. Having GO to back up Miller I think is a great move... Although, I am sure Kings fans would like to see them make a monster move that makes them the instant favorite in the west....

He'll be coming off the bench so it shouldn't be much of a problem. As long as they don't expect him to be the passer Vlade was, he should fit in well with their system.

Oh yeah, the former coach who said T-Mac wouldn't last three years in the league has found new employment.

Former NBA player and coach Darrell Walker was hired Wednesday as an assistant to New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott.

BTW, was talking to someone on another board last week, and he said there was a simmering fued between Phil Jackson and Jerry West that ultimately led to West's departure. Anyone got the skinny on this?

That would suck if true. West = best GM in sports. I would rather have West on board then Phil, West has an awesome eye for talent and how to built a 'team'.

Yes, there was a feud. Essentially, when Jackson was hired he was given some say in personnel decesions, which irked West, so he left. They also had conflicting philosiphies on personnel and the direction of the team. The Jackson-Kobe feud was really just an extention of that.
